Danny your lessons have taken me from a 14 HC to a 10 and still improving rapidly. I shot a 42 and 37 yesterday. Such an amazing difference. Your tips are super simple. Thank you so so much. Love you and your channel. Rory Pringle
Genius! My journey , as erratic as it is, is made safe by your simplicity, common sense, and honesty! By far the most effective Golf coach worldwide on TH-cam! Thanks Danny, proper lad!
It works!! The unexpected benefit is I feel really stable in the golf swing and this informs me what I was doing wrong before (moving around too much in the wrong planes). Also I'm playing faster, because I have a simple guide in my head, I'm not thinking about my hands, or elbow or shallowing the club, it all just happens. Plus my draw has come back. The chipping seems to work from any kind of lie and I just can't believe how simple this is! All other lessons must be watched with the table-top method in mind. Thank you Danny, I'll never be able to repay you for all the joy you've brought into my golfing life, you're a hero, sir!
Danny, this is a fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. Not only do you show how to do it right, but you demonstrate how easy it is to do it wrong and add all kinds of extraneous movements which have to be compensated for. I always get a lot of value from your videos.
In one sense it's unbelievable you have 1.4m subscribers in such a short space of time and started your channel a lot later than most. But it's also very believable as your coaching style and communication is second to none. Keep this up buddy, 2m is easily within reach.
Just got a set of clubs yesterday and went to the driving range. Probably the best part is i have ended up hooked onto your videos straight away to learn grip, driving, using wood and now short game tips! Thanks Danny
Interesting, I have been using your similar technique you spoke about a few months ago, whereby you imagine you're trying to avoid hitting someone. I think this is better and you also explained why sometimes I felt like even though I was getting good contact, the ball wasn't going as far as it should. Thanks again, Danny. You've given me something else to work on just before the season ends!
Honestly now when I play here in Sarasota and the course across the street from my house doesn’t look like June 6 at Omaha Beach I play only 150 and in. That’s it I don’t use the tee box anymore because it’s really a waste of time and effort. I carry 4 clubs and my putter and have a great time. My gap wedge is my favorite club and I am absolutely obsessed with it. I really love playing a full round when it’s cold and windy out because it’s much more comfortable and enjoyable. Thanks Danny I’ve watched you for a long while and just love your common sense insights to the game. God Bless 🙏
I genuinely appreciate the “simple” everyday metaphors, Danny. Picturing a table top is genius, and it gives a lot of newer golfers something they can visualize.
Great video with no gimmicks. Reminds me somewhat Dave Pelz advocated years ago and he called a "dead hand pitch". This simple technique makes so many problems go away and simplifies the process of hitting those shots that cause so many problems. Thank you.
Thanks Danny. Another cracking video. Easy to visualise and practice. Saving shots around the greens and increasing the chances of more up and downs inside 50m.
Thanks again for a great video. Simple instructions that a senior can understand and follow. Haha All your lessons are helping me enjoy golf more. Thanks and keep up the great work
Chipping under instruction yesterday I was struggling. I will be using your visualisation of the table top in future. I think I try too hard rather than letting my arms and the club do the work.
Just superb Danny. I saw an older video of yours on chipping (with Carlos?) that used this similar technique and took it out onto the course yesterday. It's taken away so much of the fear of these shots. And is so easy to practice. Again, it's about the simplicity of it and the visualisation. Keep up the great work!
I'll be having my first proper round of golf since the 90s very soon, your videos have been invaluable for me while getting back into the game, thank you Danny.
@@DanielMaude I have been using it from a similar lesson of yours a couple of years ago. The Maude Method is consistent and coherent - we are so lucky to have you amid so much golf noise.
Brilliant lesson as ever Danny. Always struggled with consistent pitching/chipping and this video has helped loads on my nine holes even today. No blobs or 1s on the card and a PB gross score! Yours is the only TH-cam golf channel I need👍
Danny, thank you for another excellent video. I also really appreciate the thumbnail explaining what the video is about: “pitch ..30-80 yards”. I find those really helpful vs general titles like “the secret no one knows”. Thanks!
Hi Danny, love the videos and practice setups, playing my regular Links course at Tynemouth, ball resting on edges of bunkers or mounds the lies can be 12" - 18" above me and below, understand the swing radius lower club smaller clubs but never seam to get right the direction. Thank you
I was working on this exact thing in my yard Friday. That 30+- yard shot and taking the wrist out of the shot. You explained it better than my mind was thinking it!
Dan your the best on TH-cam. I've been only following you and today have won my 2nd competition in three weeks following your instructions. 23 to 18 handicap. Hoping to go lower over the next year. Thanks 😊
Good morning from Canada, I’m looking forward to using this. Sometimes my chips squirt out 45 degrees to the right, costing strokes. Don’t know why, but I’m hoping this technique solves this problem. Thanks!
In your demonstration swings it looks like the club is straight up between your arms but when you actually hit the ball I think I’m seeing forward shaft lean. Should your wrists be in a position that the hands are at the front thigh when the club face strikes the ball?
Great visual tip! For me, also pay attention to the distance to the ball and adjust it according to how hard I hit the turf. Too hard...move back a bit, too light or miss brushing the ground, move closer.
I like this "tilting table top concept" Danny and I will be using it the next time I'm on the course and playing a pitch or chip shot ! Well Done Danny!
Brilliant, original, table top idea to keep pitching & chipping a lot easier. When I was teaching the children really liked me keeping things simple & easy to follow. Your viewers can really benefit thanks to you making the game of golf a lot easier. Thank you for another great video.
Hey Danny, could you maybe do one talking about where the 'table' should be depending on your chipping lie? I loved the visual about raising the table, I'm on that straight away!
Perfect explanation. Final step would be going to the range and doing that with all of your wedges (even 7i, 8i) to get a wedge chart. Then it's one swing and change the club based on the yardage and height.
Danny, appreciate your videos thank you. This is a very good visualisation teaching point for this shot. A new meaning to a tabletop exercise! Keep doing what you do please
My course is dry with tight fairways. After blading the ball across the green with a 52* wedge, I just use bump and run with an 8i or 9i, but I will try this at the range.
@@DanielMaude . Hello Danny. I had much better chipping. I used my 56, 60 degree and I have a chipper. I visualized the tabletop, and I was much more accurate keeping stiffer wrist action. Thank you for your lesson.

I’ve used this method for about a year now and it saves me 3 strokes a round.
