Thank you. I never thought about fussy cutting fabric to make a mug rug. I just always think piecing. I will be making some quick stocking stuffers. Thanks again for the great idea.
I have been buying the kitchen drying mats at the dollar tree, cutting them in half and then sewing my mug rug fabric on top. I sometimes just sew jelly roll strips on the drying mat. I don't put any backing fabric on them, but I do bind them. They are sturdy, washable, and the drying mat soaks up any "drips". If you try this, please reply or respond and let me know what you think of this idea.
You mentioned satin stitch how would I satin stitch around the appliqué on a sewing machine and do you use Heat n Bond on the appliqué? Thank you so much for making this video!
Aloha From beautiful Hawaii. Thank you Lisa for sharing how to make these lovely Christmas mug rugs. They look wonderful for gifts with the holidays approaching. I love mug rugs and recently received a special handmade mug rug given to me by my dear friend for my birthday. Please keep the videos coming. I certainly enjoyed this video!!

OMG. Thank you for this enjoyable, informative and all around great video. Yes, I now have so many ideas. Going to look for "Christmas" fabric. Thumbs Up to You for this wonderful tutorial.
Hi Sue, I would Google the term "Vintage Christmas Applique Pattern" and see what comes up....sometimes that's the fastest way for me to find something :)
I'm away from home, so I don't have it right in front of me, however if you search the Christmas fabric on the Joann's website you'll probably be able to find it. That's where it came from.
Thank you soooo much for turning the light bulb on for some quick Christmas gifts for neighbors and friends!!!

Hope you're enjoying your well earned get away. This one is a real cutie.
Super cute. Did you say what the finished size was, I missed it.
Hi Debbie, these were all different sizes....I didn't even really measure them. I just cut some fabric and off I went lol
Was that elmers glue?
Totally love this! Did you turn in the opening?
I Did :) easy way to finish:)
I am looking for some vintage Christmas appliqué pattern , do you have any idea where I might buy them
Hi Sue, I would Google the term "Vintage Christmas Applique Pattern" and see what comes up....sometimes that's the fastest way for me to find something :)
Lisa, Do you drop your feed dogs when your free motion quilting on the Mug Rugs? M🍀
Hi Mary, I do :) If your machine doesn't do that, you may have a plate that came with the machine that will cover the feed dogs....that works well too
Where did you find the words and the houses in that truck with the camper material I can’t find any of that anywhere
These fabrics came from Joann's.....the last I checked it was on their website too :)
Can you tell me the name of the Christmas fabric with VW van on it. Thanks
I'm away from home, so I don't have it right in front of me, however if you search the Christmas fabric on the Joann's website you'll probably be able to find it. That's where it came from.
