Not really...Don Mancini said his original plan with this movie was to have multiple chucky's but it was scrapped due to low budget problems. He later did it in Cult of chucky cause he felt it was the perfect time. So no. Mancini always wanted to do it in this one.
"I thought I was you the whole time!"…fastforward to the end of the To Boldly Flee review and Critic "realizes" the Nostalgia "Cricket" is Phelous…GREAT CONTINUITY!
As someone who only discovered Phelous after he left CA, when he did _Dinosaur Adventure_ , I consider these crossovers between two of my favorite reviewers something really special.
I think his new videos are on par with his old ones as far as how funny they are and the higher production value is nice. Sure he's had some dull episodes but it's not like that didn't use to happen before.
CP3 doesn't get enough love nowadays. But I distinctly remember the audience in the theater having a great time. It features some of his best one-liners, and in my opinion the best score of all the movies.
@@aarondevack1912 Phelous has a Tumblr post as to why he left, he quit in protest because arguments between management (I really don't know how to explain it, it's kinda complicated, I suggest reading this video's top comments and their replies)
Chucky seems to presume he can transfer himself into the person he reveals his real name to, but if Dr. Death really meant the first person he came to life in front of then technically that would be Aunt Maggie whom he killed in the first movie!
You know, I just realized something. The first person Chucky revealed himself to was the old dude in the beginning, and he killed him. So essentially he screwed himself out of a new body and couldn't transfer to the new kid.
real talk, someone saw that part where he was like "man i really gotta get outta this body" and thought it would be a great idea to write two sequels based off of that concept
Here's one thing I don't get; Chucky had plenty of time to transfer his soul into Tyler's Body when he finds him in the closet in the colonel's room. Those two girls probably walked in about 10-15 minutes later so he had plenty of time to complete his "objective" that he's been trying to do for two and half films yet he still "chucks" around, get it?
also for whatever reason the Nostalgia Critic's footage looks better than usual in these crossovers with Phelous. Must be related to Phelan's capture/timeline settings.
Ohh boy do I love the chucky movies (They are a total guilty pleasure though XD) They're so stupid and over the top I always get a laugh watching them. (Especially bride of Chucky.)
definitely same opinion on those later movies, bride and seed are funny in their own ways (actually i like the parts where chucky gets surprised at moments) although curse of chucky is less funny, its admerable for being somewhat a love letter and return to form for chucky (i really loved the alternate ending) although cult of chucky is probably the more questionable of em all
I still think the best thing the original "Child's Play" movie could've done was have a twist ending where Andy really was doing the killings and was just imagining the doll coming to life. That would've been amazing. Then, in each sequel, his mind could've snapped again and he could kill a bunch of people blaming the doll. :)
That was actually not far from the original plan. Apparently, throughout most of the movie, you were never really supposed to know if it was the doll or the kid doing the killings until the climax. It would eventually be revealed to actually be the doll, but there would be so many hints of it actually being the kid that you think it's really him doing it.
Cole Goodrich yea, it's better the way it is. Psychological thrillers is b.s. Horror is nice. It used to be nice simply because the movies had everything we had if we looked outside. No cell phones, same year cars. Society mannerisms. It seemed believable. Doesn't hold up now just because there's too much that's different.
+Market Mane Well, Phelous left CA and probably doesn't want to associate with them. This is why he left: phelous.tumblr.com/post/108013883721/goodbye-farewell-and-amen-ca
+Market Mane Well, the post says that, for one thing, CA stopped becoming a tight-knit community and more like just a studio, whose main priority was the productions made in their studio with the Chicago crew, and for another thing, when he was hired to make some effects for To Boldly Flee (The 4th anniversary movie) other members of CA talked behind his back about whether he was half-assing them (not even telling him that they thought so) , and they sent one of his friends, Mat, to covertly determine whether or not he was half-assing them, but since Mat was his friend, Mat told him. Also, when Phelous announced that he was leaving, although Rob was ok was it, Mike wasn't, and all of his videos were removed off of the site, after 6 years of being on it. That's the gist of it, though since this is a TL;DR, some information is left out, of course.
It was a serious missed opportunity. I mean...his blood only went into one doll? I know it was likely they'd kill each other until only one is left because if they tried to explain it most of them would either be soulless or a fraction of his soul but it would have still been epic.
Will someone please explain the "What'cha say?" gag at the 17:50 mark? I've seen it in a plethora of TH-cam videos, and have no idea what the reference or even what the joke is.
It's a song that was used in the season 2 finale of O.C., in which a main character was shot. The joke is that the song is so overdramatic, making the moment unintentionally funny.
One might also wonder why on earth a military school would have live hand grenades on the campus. This is a school where people send children to learn in an environment of military-style discipline, not a facility for training soldiers in preparation for combat.
The barber was played by Andrew Robinson, the actor who played Garak on Deep Space Nine. Probably my favorite character on the show. If given a chance he can be just as creepy, wacko, and fun as good 'ol Brad Douriff. One of the actors I'll watch regardless of how bad the film is.
I only now realize how much Andy’s life sucks, his doll came to life and tried to steal his body and kill his family, his mother got taken away to the nut house, he got placed with a foster family, his foster family got murdered shorty after, he got sent to military school and then hauled off to prison
These were the good old days. It's a shame these guys never did the rest of the movies. Wait, he seriously changed the description to call him "some guy"? Is he like Voldemort now or something? 🤨
The problem with the general having a heart attack is that the joke doesn’t work because they cast the wrong person. Don Mancini said he wrote the part for a bigger, tougher, meaner R. Lee Ermy-type. Someone who looked like he could kill you 27 different ways with his pinky. So him taking one look at the doll and then immediately having a heart attack would have been really unexpected and funny. But for some reason, they chose to cast this nice, tame-looking older gentleman in the part… so it really doesn’t seem all that surprising that he’d have a heart attack, haha. It was also executed awkwardly... it doesn’t look like it was shot as a joke, it looks like it was shot as a serious death scene with multiple angles and slow motion and the like. Whereas it probably should have been shot less dramatically in just a couple of simple, flat angles.
The part that didn't stick right for me when I saw Child's Play 3, was that Charles Lee Ray's spirit literally stayed in that mangled, blown-up doll for 8 fucking years. . . THAT'S either one VERY obsessed, evil serial killer, or one that has NOTHING BETTER TO DO than wait all that time!

If you don't believe me this is confirmed in the Chucky files a video series where Don Mancini answers a bunch of questions about the Chucky movies all the way up to curse

Spoony was kicked from Channel Awesome and he reviewed Bloodrayn with NC and Linkara
Apparently there was some kind of falling out between the heads of channel awesome, the walker brothers, phelous, and Allison. I'm kinda fuzzy on the details of what actually happened, but at the very least I know that phelous and Allison are still on good terms with Brad Jones as they've continued to occasionally appear on his midnight screening videos.
Bruce Chickinson I think they're also good with Lewis since they made the AT4W movie together.
Kevin Petrak xc
Watching this one now, I gotta know, do you two plan on reuniting for Bride, Seed, and Curse?
Considering the channel awesome implosion I think not.
It's a you MARIO! Lol
I wish I could review them with the NC. I actually live like 4-5 hours away from Chicago.
We all wish that
