Will Kyle, Lupa and ChaosD1 be able to help CatPhelous save the review from PhelousD1?... This seems slightly silly. phelous.com / phelous Originally Released: August 16, 2011
If you see a creepy looking guy wearing a trenchcoat and hat dumping what appear to be bodies into a sewer pipe, what should you do? A) Keep driving and forget you saw anything. B) Drive to the nearest service station and call the police. C) Turn around and investigate. If you picked 'C' congratulations, you could be the protagonist of a Jeepers Creepers movie.
Especially after he gives chase and drives you off the road. These idiots instead go back to investigate, because then the cops would just catch the damn thing and we would have no movie.
Wow, IMDB's Phelous page is called "The Super Phelous Angry Reviewing Meta-Show or Something..." I wonder how long that's been there...Still got the 5000 dollar budget though.
Every time I see him just screaming about how something doesn't "work that way", I can't help but wonder how often he lost his voice, because of that shtick of his.
i remember the ending scene of Justin Long's skin and his screams of agony in the distance being TOTALLY disturbing back when this movie came out. i was much younger then, and scared rather easily. i miss those days.
I like how creepers goes through the trouble of getting one person when there's like multiple times where he has a body parts that he could take from other people but just doesn't
this movie scared me so much as a little kid. seeing it now and laughing at it is actually kinda weird considering how traumatized I was by it. I actually diddnt even want to watch the review but im kinda glad that I did now
*+Rebecca Robinson* You too huh? I'm less scarred now but being less scared means there's little to distract me from ripping the creeper to cheese bits.
If the Creeper's purpose for burning the church was to hide the evidence of the bodies he did piss poor job since they found the bodies anyway in the second movie...And for that matter, why didn't anyone go to the press after the Creeper revealed itself in front of an entire police station? I mean, it left one of the witnesses alive and it even left behind its clothes and a truck that had the bodies of two dead policemen in it. I can understand not wanting to look like a psychotic nut-job but if you have an entire police station as witnesses, I think that makes it pretty damn credible.
Jesse Ling Exactly I was working at the station that day , and I have to tell ya, nothing happened was a completely ordinary day. These people trying to pass off this crazy story need to be thrown into the looney bin asap.
Well at the end of the movie it shows the creeper working on Darry in another hideout that has other bodies in it implying that there’s more than one hideout the creeper has.
Jeepers Creepers makes me sad :( The idea is really good. I'd even go as far to say that if it had been handled well, it could have been a movie monster to stand with the Predator.
Some friends and I in high school watched these movies, and joked about the whole "23 is such a random number to pick and try to make significant lol!" thing but one of our friends, without even thinking about it, said, "Not really, it could be a reference to the 23 paired chromosomes in human DNA, since it's consuming to regenerate, taking the unique parts in and converting them into its own body mass." No idea if that was the director's intent, but she blew our minds with how fast she rattled all the info off, having just come up with it.
Funny review as always, though hearing the other critics talk reminds me how glad I am that Phelous has a great quality microphone. No echo or distortions anywhere in his voice.
The whole low opening of this video is amazing. it feels like they really make these more for the love of doing it than for anything else, which just makes me love them even more. Love you guys Phelous!
+RamsesTheStone It's supposed to be a cheesy, enjoyably silly horror movie. The character dialogue for college students sounds like small children, they fight a ridiculous ghoul with no origin or explanation that for some fucking reason drives a car, and random shit happens. This isn't a thinking man's movie, but it has some amusing bits.
I enjoy the movie without guilt, its a surprisingly creepy creature feature in a time creature features are kinda dead. The build up to his appearance legit got under my skin more than a average monster flick, & thought the Creepers whole concept was pretty original & creepy. I mean you can pick it apart like most monster B movies sure, but I'll leave that to the critics. As for the pedo thing, I still love Thriller even if MJ had kiddie porn & probably diddled the shit out of some kids. Can still enjoy the entirety of Naked Gun even with OJ Simpsons slap stick character. Tho I get anyone who cant get past it

Being I can separat the art from the creator, not that thier art oks the crime (Tho I torrent, so it's not like I'm helping fiance the pedos lube for little Billy) Aleast 50% of shit you like most likely came from horrible people behind the scenes. Plus unlike most MJ fans, I can admit his a sick fuck while zombie dancing to Thriller lol

I must be a Justin Long fan for whatever friggin' reason; cuz I remember watching all of this movie on Scifi (yes, SCIFI, not SyFy) and reasonably enjoying my time with it.
I haven't seen this film in a while but you make a good point about them seeing him throwing bodies at the start. It'd make some sense if the small town folks were aware of the legend and so led it to traveler's rather than them, but nope, they had no idea this monster lived there and apparently just trying to catch two teens angers it into killing most of the police...
Am I the only one who thinks the creeper is more fitting to be a bad Batman villain than a slasher. My Reasons: 1.) He has a small arsenal of ninja weapons. Including his own batarangs (creeperangs). 2.) He has his own truck or as I would call "The Creepermobile". 3.) He just looks the part, creepy and campy like a sillier version of Man-Bat in the ninja turtles trench coat disguise. 4.) His powers and habits are all insane, like most of Batman's enemies. Especially using the music in his murders. I can actually see this guy running around Gotham.

Hell yeah. Darry and Trish were just like my older brothers in how they talked about stupid shit and made up words games and basically acted like typical teenagers. Ah, nostalgia...
As both an unbiased third party and someone who works as a writer, I can definitely say that It's far better than he gave it credit for. Some people just don't like a particular movie for nothing other than personal reasons. It's when they shit all over it without any real leg to stand on however, that things stray into the territory of pissing fans off. Nostalgia Critic's Event Horizon and Casper reviews are also like this.
planescaped its the same with his last action hero review. A lot of people i know like that movie including myself but Doug thinks the movie sucks because he doesn't find it funny and it shows in his review.
Jake Geddes Most of the time his criticisms are totally valid and based on writing and storytelling facts. But Nostalgia Critic in particular has the occasional habit of doing an arbitrary critique that just isn't true. Just as they defend themselves by saying it's only their opinion, so do I defend myself by declaring that opinions can still be factually wrong...
A lot of the better reviewers openly admit to reaching for some of their critiques and making the movies or whatever look worse than even they think. Usually the last five minutes or so of summarizing is where you get their more honest opinions. Unfortunately this leads to fans taking them seriously and having to follow the leader instead of making up their own mind. This in turn leads to often toxic comment sections.
ALL I can think about when I watch this movie, the ONE thing on my mind the ENTIRE time, the ONLY thing I care about, is how did the Creeper get the vanity plate? I have this mental image of him standing in line at the tag office, having to show title, bill of sale, proof of insurance...
I mean, what is this creature even? Why bother killing people every XY years, then just sleeping for years again? Not much of a life really. And how did it learn to drive, or dress up? it seems to be just an animal level intelligence.

@@gracekim1998 hahaha, boy, I consider these to be "the good old days". Still, I no longer follow most of the old TGWTG crew. I don't like where some of them went ... still, you have a lot of content to watch, so have fun :)
i found the realistic bickering and joking between siblings quite interesting, and the fact that it took a little bit longer to get to the "scary" part of it interesting. i don't think the thing needed to be 'scary', it was just consuming people. the scary part was how it was inevitable going to take either the sister or the brother, and at least for me, i found them both to be flawed and therefore relatable characters.
I love this movie, it's not a "guilty pleasure" it's just a pleasure. This movie apart from having two horror movie leads that I actually find enjoyable and want to see get through this, is actually full of very well done build-ups of dread and unnerving imagery that work outside the norm of most horror movies. Jumpscares aren't really common, but pretty cheap, though the other visuals really make you forget them. That long drawn out shot at the beginning which shows the demon's truck approach their car finds a way to be quite unsettling and draws your eyes away from the foreground scene. The same goes for when they first drive past the church, it's a long unnerving shot that becomes quite memorable. They managed to make something eerie in broad daylight. I merit any horror movie for accomplishing that. Some people might think it bad, but this movie has to be one of the most memorable horror movies I have ever seen. It builds up horror through dread, which isn't that common amongst the entire genre.
+DerangedDisciple I know this is 4 months old, but gotta say I agree. They really build up atmosphere and tension throughout the movie; jump scares aren't that common, and the fear sorta just slithers up on you--you can see it coming, but it works at a pace that has you on edge. As you mentioned, the drawn out scene where you see the Creeper's van closing in is very unnerving, and even the chase scenes with that loud, freaky horn are scary (to me.) So for all its flaws (and the shit behind the scenes with its gross director), it makes up with nice moody, disturbing atmosphere, and, again as you said, building dread until the very end.
Honestly, phelous was just plain wrong with his review on this one. Just as they defend themselves saying 'it's just an opinion' so to do I say that opinions can still be objectively incorrect. It's no defense.
The actors playing the brother and sister really have great chemisty I feel, it's a shame they don't have better dialouge... and a better story... and a better director... and a better movie.
I really liked this movie. The Creeper is an instantly classic monster. Oh my god of course he gets a kick out of it! He scares the other drivers so he knows who to hunt.
Those bodies on the ceiling are super well preserved. Meaning they are fresh, so... Jeepers Creepers killed what, 50 people in one week? And NOBODY noticed??? I hate these stupid horror movies thinking so many people could go missing on a road, or from a small community, without anyone noticing.
Maybe in the old days before telephones, but if the Creeper killed that many people in a small community like this, he'd have had the Feds on his green behind in no time. He might have been able to dodge or overpower while he was awake, but once the end of that 23rd day kicked in, he'd fall asleep and get torn apart on an operating table for science.
You're right. It's only 16th most viewed or so, while, some of your most outstanding stuff has way, way less. TH-cam is what it is. I hope we'll get more Halloweenie this year regardless. Less people care, but we who do care care a lot!
I think they should do some sort of a reboot with a different director but have the same guy play The Creeper. And have it be about the girl from the first movie waiting to get revenge from her brothers death
Goes on rant about a lot of movies having the number 23 hold some importance in them. This video was posted on July 23rd. Its all true, the number 23 does show up everywhere.
I get there some people who have mix feelings or whatever about Jeepers Creepers but this movie a childhood movie of mines this movie use to keep me from sleeping I also also think this film one of the last true horror flick from the early 00's cause horror films after went down the drain. Even now The Creeper have a name in the horror community so it did left a good impact.
I am wondering how jeepers creepers learned how to drive and got a truck. Probobly stole it and gained the knowledge from a victim. But i like to think it went through drivers training and bought the truck.
I actually liked this movie, it's a lot better than most horror movies that come out. Even if you don't like this movie you gotta give this movie respect considering the idea and the fact that if any of you including myself tried to make a movie like this we wouldn't make it as good so yea, and just because they're not in junior high they can't talk like that lol
This movie was really scary at first but when they made it do human things like whistling and winking at people (in the 2nd movie) it became corny as fuck.
Yeah, Freddy has gotten extremely comical after the first movie. The remake tried to bring him back to his roots which was interesting although it could've been better *still liked it though*.
In_Vas_Por However, the first time I saw the second film was when I was like 9 at night, alone and when they first showed the creeper just watching them from the bus door I got pretty freaked out lol.
Phelous, have you ever considered creating your own campy sci-fi show? I bet it'd be fantastic. You have a lot of storylines that are simultaneously ridiculous and interesting. I would totally watch it.
funny thing is that if he didn't go there where their is damn near impossible not to be a serial killer's lair then they have been fine as it'd have never have got his scent. and as such not have hunted them.... we find out in the 2nd movie that it'd have only been awake for about 4-5 more day's
Aww, I love stupid busing cats. =^.^= And thanks for showing us the one fun part of that movie, at least for me. The opening conversation in the car was funny to me, with none of the horror I actually don't like (without jokes spoken over it). The Creeper Mobile was interesting to see. I think it had a role as an armored truck, decades ago, in "Cast a Giant Shadow."
Despite the problems in this movie, I actually really enjoy it. Also I watched it for the first time at midnight as a kid, so it actually scared me pretty bad.
17:16 Anyone else read borrowed black a labrador fantasy? Because Borrowed Black is pretty much the same as Jeepers Creepers but for some reason is way more threatening than Creepers. I don't know why but he is.
Gina Philips is so cute in this that I can forgive a few bad lines of dialogue. I noticed Victor Salva enjoys filming people pissing and he does this in Jeepers Creepers II as well. There are good looking females in the sequel as well but Salva lets the camera linger on the shirtless football players sun tanning on top of a school bus. Just sayin'.
I actually like this film, ok.its old now but It was a serial killer movie twist. Like Seven (although that is superior) it was just different. We find out the killer wasn't even human, its origins were a mystery, an unstoppable demonic like being that behaved much like death. probably would of had more of an impact in the years to come if it was a stand alone film.
I love how Phelous just has complete apathy towards his evil doppelganger.

i found the realistic bickering and joking between siblings quite interesting, and the fact that it took a little bit longer to get to the "scary" part of it interesting. i don't think the thing needed to be 'scary', it was just consuming people. the scary part was how it was inevitable going to take either the sister or the brother, and at least for me, i found them both to be flawed and therefore relatable characters.

Actually, to be fair, in all fairness, your opinion of me being wrong is just plain wrong, so I'm right, just saying.
planescaped You just got "actually'd"
Ahh I missed Phelous reviews glad I found him again :D
this is awesome I'm hooked on these videos, love the sarcasm, subscribed!
15:46 This is how The Secret of the Hunchback *should* have ended.
I dunno what would happen if i were in Jeepers Creepers.
But the ending made me want to put the creature through the jurassic park treatment.
The actors playing the brother and sister really have great chemisty I feel, it's a shame they don't have better dialouge... and a better story... and a better director... and a better movie.
I like to think the Creeper is just the Thing's (Carpenter version) derpy cousin. :P Or a Cenobite that got thrown out for being bad at its job.
He looks more like Man-Bat, really.
honestly, crazy cat lady is the best part of the movie
Phelous I don't think most of your fans know what Ms Cleo was.
18:51 was actually very traumatizing watching it alone in a dark hotel room at 2 in the morning on a sleep-deprived mind.
Phelous- Basically the modern version of Doctor Who
YEP😂
over 100k views? Why is this video so much more popular than Phelous' other ones?
It's not.
You're right. It's only 16th most viewed or so, while, some of your most outstanding stuff has way, way less. TH-cam is what it is. I hope we'll get more Halloweenie this year regardless. Less people care, but we who do care care a lot!
+Phelan “Phelous” Porteous bootlegs are muy favorite so, please keep the great work
I love Jeepers creepers, and this video, it explains mistakes about the movie and makes it funnier.
I think they should do some sort of a reboot with a different director but have the same guy play The Creeper. And have it be about the girl from the first movie waiting to get revenge from her brothers death
Spoilers from the future! They did, and it sucked!
Goes on rant about a lot of movies having the number 23 hold some importance in them. This video was posted on July 23rd. Its all true, the number 23 does show up everywhere.
I miss Phelous and the Movies.
"What is this shit the Brady Bunch?"
Favorite line.
This was one of the first horror movies I watched and I kinda liked it. I have to watch it again now to see if I still feel the same.
Love the fact this movie is based off a true story.
So far the best episode i've seen!
Its kind of surreal hearing the Boogeyman song in this video after hearing it in all of the Sinister 2 ads.
A man claiming to be a level 9 wizard at my work told me he would turn me into a cat (crazy homeless guy)
Polymorph Other is 4th level spell, so he was not wrong, he can cast it!
I'm drifting through the internet and I stumbled upon here I'm completely in the dark about the intro
Anyone else read Borrowed Black: A Labrador Fantasy? I just don't see any other comments bringing this up so I kinda feel like I have too.
Phelan- here's 2 suggestions thats you would love
Barbarian (not the one with the twins, the new one with Justin Long)
Malignant
I am wondering how jeepers creepers learned how to drive and got a truck. Probobly stole it and gained the knowledge from a victim. But i like to think it went through drivers training and bought the truck.
I actually liked this movie, it's a lot better than most horror movies that come out. Even if you don't like this movie you gotta give this movie respect considering the idea and the fact that if any of you including myself tried to make a movie like this we wouldn't make it as good so yea, and just because they're not in junior high they can't talk like that lol
lava lamp incontinuity. negitive infinity squared outta ten
How did Miss Cleo know all about the Creeper and what was going to happen? Because she's a magic black woman!
So...is there a chance we might get a review of the sequel?
Gina Phillips had all the makings to be a great final girl. Too bad her career and the future Sequels didn’t turn out as we had hoped. Great Movie.
This movie was really scary at first but when they made it do human things like whistling and winking at people (in the 2nd movie) it became corny as fuck.
In_Vas_Por
like Freddy? lmao
EternalStorm796 Yeah, Freddy was always just disgusting to me, never scary. Freddy got even worse as time went on though lol.
Cowabunga Creeper always makes me smile.
I love the ending
Girl "No! take me!"
Creeper "Fuck you, lol." (flies away.)
As stupid as the movie is, the Creeper is one of my favorite monsters.
watching this while tripping is extremely confusing
You're a trooper, I wouldn't watch anything scarier than Gullah Gullah Island while tripping.
Jeepers, Creepers, where'd ya get those peepers? Jeepers, Creepers, where'd ya get those EYES?!?!
It makes me sad that I was upset that the two of them weren't eaten. She says take me not him, and I yelled take them both your strong
I wonder if Phelous will review Jeepers creepers 3 after its theatrical release and DVD/Blu ray release
TheCosmicFireStar I wonder if a 3 film collection with all 3 movies will released when Jeepers Creepers 3 gets released on DVD and Blu-Ray
?
16:26 They brought Caroline from Bones into this movie. Damn it
Phelous, have you ever considered creating your own campy sci-fi show? I bet it'd be fantastic. You have a lot of storylines that are simultaneously ridiculous and interesting. I would totally watch it.
I want to see that after binge watching his reviews the last week. It's like, he knows how to make a bad good movie THE RIGHT WAY.
Sounds awesome
LOL back to saving the world from demons by playing online golf
Hey! It's that woman from Good Luck Charlie. how cool! Still not going to take this movie seriously -_-
+SinTalento Producciones When you say 'hot blonde', do you mean the mom or the daughter?
+Josh Nazario mom
funny thing is that if he didn't go there where their is damn near impossible not to be a serial killer's lair then they have been fine as it'd have never have got his scent. and as such not have hunted them.... we find out in the 2nd movie that it'd have only been awake for about 4-5 more day's
I'm watching this review in 2023! It's all true! Lmfao
Man I love continuity! And the fact that the show was just called Phealous previously
Awesome recap🥳
3.2.22
The beginning of this video is like an anime plot lmao
3:02 my new favorite horror song.
How does he refill his truck with fuel?
Silas Nesmith I guess kill the people in the station and fill her up
@@bradleypicklesimon5680 or maybe with the remains of people, it's organic lol
He and the truck are clearly supernatural.
The truck is supernatural, I'm assuming it doesn't need fuel
Assuming the truck needs fuel
I assume he just siphons fuel from the cars of the pepole he killed
+David Imrie
Salva is gay.
A guilty pleasure of mine.
Sunsets don't work that way xD
VISION DOESNT WORK THAT WAY
ALAN GREENSPAN DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!!!
Video was posted on the 23rd. Was that intentional Phelan?
