A point about on Alice the character/actress not coming back after the first one: she actually had a really bad experience with a crazed fan turned stalker and it affected her so much that she didn't want that level of exposure again.
If you pay attention during Part 1, you notice that Alice has a thing for Bill and Steve is just the Beta guy trying to win her affection. Bill is the camp stud.
It’s nice to see OFH picking up some heat. Back in the day an episode would only have a handful of views within hours after posting, now you’re into the thousands. Glad folks are discovering and enjoying the channel. It’s well deserved.
1991, I was 10 years old at a friends slumber/birthday party and we had rented part 8, Jason takes Manhattan. Half way through the movie his Mom and Dad burst into the room with masks on plus knives in their hands, and all of us screamed like little beeeatches! Pretty classic. Cool episode!
@36:28 - Yeah the poster is great, but they messed it up. They flipped the picture, not sure if by accident, but the axe mark is supposed to be on the LEFT side of the mask.
I am obsessed with the intro to Jason Takes Manhattan and I really wish they'd brought the DJ back throughout the movie. But "The Darkest Side Of The Night" is right there with "His Eyes" from A New Beginning for best songs in the series 🙌🏽
Had cool parents and the pleasure of seeing Part 4 at the drive-in on opening night. Such a thrill for a little kid and still my fave. Glad you guys are back, I was goin thru One Fvcking Withdrawals!
Hear Tom go! I wouldn’t have thought him a 13th fan but listen to the fervor. LOL. A revisit of this series is long overdue. I think the last entry I watched was the fifth film. Great stuff gents. Thanks!
If I remenber her interviews right, Adrienne King didn't even want to do Part II because she had a real life stalker creating trouble for her after the first one. but she agreed to be in it if they would keep her screen time short, which was what led to the beginning being written the way it was.
@67psychout That's what I seem to remember her saying. I know there's another story that I believe says they just wouldn't pay her what she was asking. So what's the deal?
Assuming Jason didn't drown and he did live off of berries and rabbits, Jason would've been 33 years old during the original "Friday The 13th" movie...
People seem to love 2 for Amy Steel and her best final girl prowess, part 4 for the star power of Crispin Glover and Corey Haim, and Glover’s epic dancing of course, and I’m there for all of it, but I also love the original for its use of rain, owls and birds cooing in the night, and just the little subtle scenes like Jack and Marcie frolicking along the lake, and panning over to Ned, who’s clearly a little jealous, and feeling like a third wheel:) It just has these nice subtle touches, and cinematography:)
my only Friday the 13th experience is seeing a triple feature of The Wiz, Come and See, and Friday the 13th Part 4 as a part of Jordan Peeles curated series for Nope at Lincoln Center lolol
Me and my dork friends at art school loved the 'hillbilly family' in part 5.. I remember laughing our butts off at it .. Just as much as the hip 80s Gerry Curl black couple singing to each other while the dude is taking a sh**
5 really stands out for its odd collection of characters. Besides the ones you mentioned, you've got those greaser kids Pete and Vinnie, Billy and Lana. that crusty drifter guy who does odd jobs for food...
The behind the scenes Prank that Kane pulled in Part 8 is what Always comes to mind! It’s Hilarious! Jason appears with a Giant Weenis sticking out of his pants! 🤘🤣
Tame by today’s standards, these films are still good, gory, trashy fun. My ranking: 1. Part 4 2. Part 1 3. Part 2 4. Part 6 5. Part 3 6. Part 7 7. Part 5 8. Part 8
Finally! The best movie podcast returns! Weird tidbit about the hippy hitchhiking chick in part 4. She has very small 5 second or so part in Stardust Memories.
I've seen Friday the 13th 3 in 3D at midnight and it was wonderful. Sadly, that theater is gone and no where locally can ever do 3D movies again. I haven't tried to rewatch it at home. Objectively, I know it isn't great, but it used the gimmicks well. It's like watching those 3D sitcom nights on NBC back in the day. It was just fun.
Interesting that big T said his personal favourite is part 3. As that is also mine too. The best Jason and final girl imo. And that final scene is pure nightmare fuel. I know Evan likes rankings. Mine would be. 1 part 3 2 part 4 3 part 6 4 part 2 5 part 5 6 part 7 7 part 1 8 part 8
For me, I rank the Friday the 13th movies in the order they came out with the first being the best. I think what helped the first two was that they filmed on location, which added to the realism of the movies. With part 3, they moved the filming out of the northeastern US, which, to me, made the movies begin losing the feel that the original two had. Plus the kills just started to get more and more ridiculous/unrealistic.
THESE movies are about good looking young folks getting naked and spectacularly bumped off. One must be a FOOL to demand "character development" from them! On another note, I too remember the 3D craze oof the early 80s. As I recollect it lasted from about 81 to 83. Some other flicks were Parasite, Treasure of the Four Crowns, Space Hunter, Jaws 3, The Man Who Wasn't There, Metalstorm, Amityvile 3, House of Wax, and Andy Warhol's Frankenstein (the last couple mentioned there being older ones which were re-released during that craze).
Since you guys said you're not doing horror for a while maybe you guys can do the terrifier series in December leading up to three as it is a terrifier Christmas indeed
I always thought the original was the best which is an unpopular opinion for this franchise. I never liked any of the sequels and the next best are the reboot and freddy vs jason. So everything between the original and Freddy v Jason im not too hot on.
Hard to rank them because my top 3 or 4 are interchangeable depending on mood, but ... 3, 2, 6, 1, 4, 8, 7, 5. It's been a long time since I've seen them though, so my mind could be easily changed by a re-view.
Joevember? Joe (1970) JoeVersus the Volcano (1990) Meet Joe Black (1998) Joe (2013) I'm not sure that would work. Still a better list than Joe Somebody (2001) or Joe Dirt (2001).
1. Halloween ripoff but fine 2. Pretty tame compared to one 3. Shitty gimmick 4. Peak 80s 5. Softcore violence 6. Boring 7. WTF is this and who thought of this as working 8. False advertising

i never found it believable that Betsy Palmer could kill all of those kids like she does.
been subscribed since day one... love to see you growing

Let's GOOOOO! So glad you guys are back!
Exactly , how in the hell does Jason find out where the girl lives??? he look her up in the phone book??????

I love how Evan rubs his throat after the Bacon arrow moment

Not really no
But yes she did have a stalker

Here for One Fucking 'Vember..!!
LOVE THE NEW INTRO TRACK......fuggin great. Show never disappoints.

"It's so mexican television" loved that and so true 🤣
Great stuff fellas
my only Friday the 13th experience is seeing a triple feature of The Wiz, Come and See, and Friday the 13th Part 4 as a part of Jordan Peeles curated series for Nope at Lincoln Center lolol
That is one stacked hour. I love the Paramount 8 F13th. Comfort slashers all. ❤
I will tolerate no shelly slander! I can watch 3-7 any day, those are my 5 favorites in the franchise
There's 2 kinds of people in the world. 1.The ahole kids who threw Jason in the lake. 2. Jason Voorhees. Which side are you on? I'm #teamjason
Me and my dork friends at art school loved the 'hillbilly family' in part 5.. I remember laughing our butts off at it .. Just as much as the hip 80s Gerry Curl black couple singing to each other while the dude is taking a sh**

Although 5 kinda stinks, it showcases the best version of Jason's mask in my opinion.
What happened to Paul in Part 2? Still "The Question" that no one can answer!!
Left guy took up soooo much screen time
Friday, the 13th franchise, is such a fun franchise to watch the kills and scares different final girls all the different Jason looks
The behind the scenes Prank that Kane pulled in Part 8 is what Always comes to mind! It’s Hilarious! Jason appears with a Giant Weenis sticking out of his pants! 🤘🤣
Tame by today’s standards, these films are still good, gory, trashy fun. My ranking:

7. Part 5
8. Part 8
My ranking, #1 is #5, New beginning, 3 words, 2 reasons-debbie sue voorheis
Im sorry, im shallow
Oh wow. This show is so fun. Great theme track switch out.
Finally! The best movie podcast returns! Weird tidbit about the hippy hitchhiking chick in part 4. She has very small 5 second or so part in Stardust Memories.
The ranking segment would make a great, inscrutable short without context.
Ooo-baby ooo-oo
Ooo-baby ooo-oo
Enchiladas!
Straight up nightmare fuel, that scene.
New intro theme song! Look forward to the Ernest P. Worrell master class sometime ..... ."Joevember"
Anyone know the name of the song?

Love this. Can you guys do the terrifier franchise please
56:05 It's "Teenage Frankenstein" -- NOT "Feed My Frankenstein"
1-4 ste great. Saw the first one as a double feature with the Hollywood knights..daw it at least 3 times at my 2nd run cinema
Hey, you left out Saturday the 14th! 😢

Jason Lives kicks ass
*Teenage Frankenstein
Ooooh early Cannon. Waiting patiently ...
What was the old intro song? Great stuff guys.
During covid I developed an addiction to playing Friday the 13th the game but after next month they are going to kill it so very sad
My ranking: 1-2 (tie), 6, 3, 4, 7, 5, 8. Part 7 was generic. Part 8 was cheap Canadian t-r-a-s-h...seemed like a bad, made for USA Network film.
16:00 WTF are you talking about!?! Adrian King didn't return because she was going through issues with a stalker! Do you not know this!?!
Tom, I love you, but you need to let the other guys talk.
For me, when they moved it out of New Jersey after PART II, something was missing in the series:/
MUSIC CHANGE!!!! NEW ERA ???
A welcomed change, for sure. I used to have to run back to my computer to turn down the other, super loud intro tune.
What was the moment of zen?
I only watched the first four... Please do in a future something Argento/ Fulci/ giallo related

Joevember?
Joe (1970)
