Heck, they couldve made side clip fed sniper rifle but with a twist. The clip would be only 1 dart length, but the dart diameter is BIG. Missed opportunities, man :(
i remember seeing a 2.0 add, and i didnt hear about it before this commercial. I knew nothing about it, and yet the first look at the "primary" blaster in the set threw me off. i kissed my strongarm that night.

I miss BoomCO. They had so much potential, but now that the hobby go-to is half darts there is little hope for us. There is a fundraiser for half-size BoomCO darts and blasters made by hobbyists so let's hope that succeeds.
I feel like if they didn't add a crazy gimmick in every blaster that made them damn near impossible to use effectively and marketed the straws as a new and revolutionary type of ammo that could out compete foam darts, then I feel like the company would've been a great success.
I think the arrival of accufakes, rival, and eventually waffleheads/half darts was a bit of a nail in the coffin. Now they're kind of obsolete because they shoot less far than nerf and their accuracy has been matched or beaten. If they came back they'd have to start out all over again with a new ammo source or ignore the FPS limit thing. The clips were also quite annoying because you could insert them too far unlike a magazine you could just jam in without thinking. They had some worthy ideas and they will definitely be remembered as an interesting footnote in blaster history
Yeah, I wished that I had talked a bit more about the existence of 3rd-party foam darts. They made Nerf and other brands much more viable blaster platforms

I still have my Rapid Madness and it’s one of the coolest designs I’ve ever seen. I lost the 20 round clip, so I have a 8 round clip and I have 6 straws left. But I took it to a friends nerf war one day. (2018) They had at least 30 different top of the line nerf blasters. (I had 2 rival Apollo’s that were labeled too powerful) and they said that rapid madness what the coolest gun they’ve ever seen. Even though I didn’t have bullets, we’d fire it off to scare the other team to not move so we could reposition. Best underrated, colt classic, air powered machine gun blaster ever.
Honestly if BoomCo ever came back, they should focus primarily on their airpowered/pump blasters. Few things are more satisfying in the hobby than unloading one of those Halo Assault rifles on your friend.

This video took over a month to shoot and edit, same with the Grand Tour video game review. But, if I can get a microphone that I can link to my laptop, it would make the process a lot faster. I definitely wouldn't mind making more videos like this.
The technology behind the sticky darts was incredibly! It only stuck to photo paper (I think) and nothing else but felt like regular rubber when you touched them. The idea to equip a shield to your arm or gun to snatch enemy darts was clever and unique! Can't say I think too highly of Mattell after BoomCo went down the toilet. They bought Mega Bloks and rebranded them and I'm worried they'll go down too. I love their Halo sets!
I wish boomco was still kicking, I really liked how high their capacity was. And their halo stuff was really cool. I think they really opened the door for all the current nerf competitors and that was pretty valuable
Heres a sad story of mine. One day, while I was sitting on a sofa watching TH-cam videos. My little brother walked up to me with a BoomCo pistol behind his back. He walked up to me and said, hey there. I said "whats up?" then that was the moment where he pulled out the pistol and shot my eye, I was crawling on the floor crying and my grandpa heard my cries. He rushed over to see me holding my eye and crying on the floor and immediatly knew what happened. While he was trying to do something about my eye, my brother just stood there. Laughing about how he shot my eye. Laughing and talking about how this was be how I died. My grandpa shouted at him and tended to my eye. After all that. My grandpa took all the nerf and BoomCo blasters he found, and just yeeted them into the trash. All of my blasters except the only one in my bedroom.. All of them were freaking expensive. All bought by me, all just simply yeeted into the trash bin outside..

Something I’ve noticed from messing around with all these nerf/nerflike weapons my kid has. The off brands like boomco/adventure force fire the projectiles much better than actual nerf weapons.

I think part of their problem was focusing on clips instead of magazines. Real life guns use clips to load an integrated magazine, and the closest thing you'll see to what BoomCo did with their clips are the removable cylinders in some revolvers. Hell, BoomCo's Straws are technically far better suited for magazines than darts since they can't be squished and deformed by the spring pressure. It baffles me that they thought clips were in any way a good idea.
The flipbow was so sick that it was worth using despite the negatives of using alt ammo. If I had access to extra clips it would have been my permanent primary.
Here’s another banger: maybe they should make older guns with BoomCo new stripper clips. Like a BoomCo K98k or Mosin Nagant. Perhaps a Sten could be made.
The boomco Needler and the Magnum were the best guns. Most replica guns are usually built with a wildly different design to be practical or they get proportions wrong but those two were built perfectly
Man, I got into the BoomCo blasters REALLY late. I jumped in when ToysRus went under a few years ago and bought myself a MA5 and planned to buy the carbine next, but unfortunately the store closed before I could make it back for more. I always looked around for more BoomCo stuff after the fact, but never really found any and always asked "Why?" I know why now...
I still have the pistol of BOOMco. bought the double set, neighbours kid stole one, and lost the others bullet catcher. now all I have is a gray slided masterpiece
I picked up the UNSC rifle from a thrift store and am very disappointed at how hard it is to find darts for it.. but read that it uses plastic tubes, so maybe I'll order some drink straws & try making some :)

Very interesting, and I think accurate. I only became aware of BoomCo from TH-cam reviewers, I think Walden was the guy I first saw with a BoomCo blaster review, and they were already a dying brand. I grabbed a bunch of different blasters, darts and clips off various online sites (you can still get them on Amazon), but I recall barely ever seeing BoomCo blasters on the shelves apart from the Blaze of Glory. Ironic that they went down with a Blaze of Glory. The decision to go with their own dart type that was not compatible with anything else, (even though it was better), plus the weird design choices (cranks, air pumps and flips to prime blasters) really didn't help. They never achieved the necessary market penetration. No idea why this popped up in my feed a year after you made it, but I've subscribed.
The only time I've seen a boomco blaster was one, maybe two times visiting my dad's friend's house. The guy's kid had one, but it was fucking giant, and took about 50 pumps to get enough air compressed in to dump a clip. Luckily though, I believe it was a 40 rounder, although yes, sometimes the straws would just sit in the clip after being run through the action. However despite all that, there was something about knowing you now could potentially fire 40 rounds in full auto, but not in runaway full auto. Felt like an MG42 (or what I thought an MG42 would feel like, I was about 10 at the time and live in England) every time I pulled the trigger. And as far as I remember, there was at least some recoil to it, so it made it feel really powerful.
Pffff toy blasters are sick. My personal favorite as a kid was the Buzz Bee Toy's DB shotgun. I had some sort of nerf assault rifle that was yellow/uses magazines, but the fact you can eject plastic shells was badass, and you had 4 of them. I bet those plastic shells are a pretty penny online, then again who remember buzz bee toys?...
Never really heard of them or saw any commercials in SG To be fair, to a casual person like me, these guns were either Nerf or knock offs 😅 (Owned Maverick and Long Strike back in the day)
Yeah, unfortunate story. Sad downfall, because I always thought BoomCo blasters were really cool, and they could still be making cool things; it's a big shame they aren't. Luckily, we at least have lots of foam blaster modders and creators to still bring original things to the table. Good video!
I think their downfall is that they didn’t make blasters for foam flinging. It was more target shooting. And the market took them and ran in a different direction. By the time they realized this it was bad.
4:25 as a Malaysian, I literally have never seen a Boom Co product ever or maybe I’m not observant enough, too bad most guns are expensive for us and no one here plays with nerf guns at all Somehow i never expected Malaysia to be mentioned a few times cause again, we don’t have any Nerf events other than Singapore ( really. . . ) but yeah whatever our country is terrible at everything anyways
Dude, I confirm, the acceptment in Mexico still very accurate even since Boom-co's fall down. It's kinda weird when supermarkets put them on stock but they do. In my state those are always Halo Covenant blasters lol and the x16 lot darts with that 2014's Instagram logo in its back too. The last one maybe bought for about 3.45 usd here.

I remember wanting the shot gun so bad, and the pistol too, I still have my rifle, it is by far the best fort that air system, because the sound works well enough to pass off as the sound of a halo assault rifle firing
Some of BoomCo's blasters being slamfire only is just a huge red flag for most people including me. When I bought the Slamblast, I was surprised to find that the blaster had no trigger. I knew the Slamfire was the weapon's gimmick, but forcing the blaster to only be slamfire is a recipe for mechanical and reliability issues already, not to mention the fact that the Darts are marketed to be super accurate, but they're being used with blasters that had gimmicks making them hit anywhere but the target.
For such a small channel, i would say this video looks very, VERY professional, keep up the good work!

Bruh boomco halo was the shit. Me and my friend would shoot each other in the back yard and it was awesome. So sad to see them gone

I found a primed halo needler at goodwill, I've had it for like 5+ years and it's still primed. I think that was definitely a major design flaw

BOOMco blaster magazine designs remind me of the Bastard SMG from Metro 2033.

I remember I had a boomco pistol and minigun. The amount of power the pistol had and the fire rate of the minigun was insane.

Very interesting, and I think accurate. I only became aware of BoomCo from TH-cam reviewers, I think Walden was the guy I first saw with a BoomCo blaster review, and they were already a dying brand.
I grabbed a bunch of different blasters, darts and clips off various online sites (you can still get them on Amazon), but I recall barely ever seeing BoomCo blasters on the shelves apart from the Blaze of Glory. Ironic that they went down with a Blaze of Glory.
The decision to go with their own dart type that was not compatible with anything else, (even though it was better), plus the weird design choices (cranks, air pumps and flips to prime blasters) really didn't help. They never achieved the necessary market penetration.
No idea why this popped up in my feed a year after you made it, but I've subscribed.

The only time I've seen a boomco blaster was one, maybe two times visiting my dad's friend's house. The guy's kid had one, but it was fucking giant, and took about 50 pumps to get enough air compressed in to dump a clip. Luckily though, I believe it was a 40 rounder, although yes, sometimes the straws would just sit in the clip after being run through the action. However despite all that, there was something about knowing you now could potentially fire 40 rounds in full auto, but not in runaway full auto. Felt like an MG42 (or what I thought an MG42 would feel like, I was about 10 at the time and live in England) every time I pulled the trigger. And as far as I remember, there was at least some recoil to it, so it made it feel really powerful.
Pffff toy blasters are sick. My personal favorite as a kid was the Buzz Bee Toy's DB shotgun. I had some sort of nerf assault rifle that was yellow/uses magazines, but the fact you can eject plastic shells was badass, and you had 4 of them. I bet those plastic shells are a pretty penny online, then again who remember buzz bee toys?...
Idk why this is on my recommended but the nostalgia is real. I had the rapid madness as a kid it was so cool
The halo replicas were always a dream for me to have i wish mattel had really pushed to slay the dragon

Yeah, unfortunate story. Sad downfall, because I always thought BoomCo blasters were really cool, and they could still be making cool things; it's a big shame they aren't. Luckily, we at least have lots of foam blaster modders and creators to still bring original things to the table. Good video!

I think their downfall is that they didn’t make blasters for foam flinging. It was more target shooting. And the market took them and ran in a different direction. By the time they realized this it was bad.
Gotta admit that the halo type guns we're amaizing.

Dude, I confirm, the acceptment in Mexico still very accurate even since Boom-co's fall down. It's kinda weird when supermarkets put them on stock but they do. In my state those are always Halo Covenant blasters lol and the x16 lot darts with that 2014's Instagram logo in its back too. The last one maybe bought for about 3.45 usd here.

I remember Boomco. Those sticky tips and grenade things were fun but sure went off fast. We barely use nerf guns since my mom doesn’t like us shooting nerf guns at eachother lol.
I own one and I can confirm, the stealth ambush sucks. Had to tape the hidden part down to prevent it from popping randomly

I actually love boomco blasters too bad it failed. The best thing i love about it is when the darts fall it sounds so satisfying

I remember wanting the shot gun so bad, and the pistol too, I still have my rifle, it is by far the best fort that air system, because the sound works well enough to pass off as the sound of a halo assault rifle firing

You deserve better
Some of BoomCo's blasters being slamfire only is just a huge red flag for most people including me. When I bought the Slamblast, I was surprised to find that the blaster had no trigger. I knew the Slamfire was the weapon's gimmick, but forcing the blaster to only be slamfire is a recipe for mechanical and reliability issues already, not to mention the fact that the Darts are marketed to be super accurate, but they're being used with blasters that had gimmicks making them hit anywhere but the target.

I have the RFM (1st gen one) myself. That thing Is really good, and doesn't skip darts as often. Must have gotten lucky.
