I enjoy hearing the British words during your podcast. You used the word "daft" in this podcast. You will think I am daft. When you mentioned you will store the tub blanket pieces in a vacuum bag, I thought, boy that is odd. Why would she store knitting a vacuum cleaner bag, the old paper bags we used to use to line upright and canister vacuums to collect all the dust and debris! And, remember when you emptied the bag, a lot of dust would come out with it! Then I realized you will use storage bags where you can vacuum out the excess air! I am daft!
Hi Kathleen - you are not daft at all - when I read vacuum bag in your comment, I pictured the type inside a machine, too! Imagine the dust! That would take some washing. Thanks so much and take good care xx
Hi Lesley ; I love seeing your finished projects. Please don't feel that you need to apologize for making any long videos . They are really lovely to see and watch.
Thanks so very much for the chat about the flatbed knitting machine. So helpful. Warm weather is on the way, I promise. And more bird parties and flowering gardens. Cheers 🌷
So creative! Love the rainbow hand spun. The cozy multi coloured blanket is quite amazing. Enjoyed seeing how you put the strips together. And that cardigan turned out great. The buttons and pockets add a special touch. I’m not good at picking up stitches but listening to you chat make the process better as that is what I did while you shared. One sleeve of a sweater started. Thank you. As always, enjoyed seeing you. Take care.
Hi Donna - thanks so much. I know what you mean about picking up stitches - it doesn't matter how I do it, I never feel that it's neat enough. Glad you got yours done - happy knitting and thank you xx
Hi Lesley, Bride of Chucky, you cracked me up at that point. Love the hat. The tube blanket has a lovely colour combination and made from scrap yarn. Its stunning.
Thanks so much - Bride of Chucky is quite the star, this month xx. The blanket turned out surprisingly well - I couldn't be happier with it. Thanks for being here and take care xx
I love your FO's Lesley. The blanket looks great. The circular knitting machine is definitely a great way to get rid of a lot of superfluous yarn! You have been very productive! Looking forward to seeing what you make of the spun rainbow coloured yarn. And I like the short socks. Very clever to make these on a knitting machine! I am currently sewing the binding to a quilt I've been working on since September. That's also very rewarding! I've done lots of knitting and sewing all through the lock down. It's wonderful to have this crafting hobby especially since I'm retired and have lots of time for it. Never a dull moment! Cheers! Stay safe! 🥰 Ada
Hi Ada. Thanks so much. The quilt sounds wonderful - and you are so right, thank goodness for our crafts. Take care - hope you are well and enjoying all of your crafting things. xx
Hello my dear Lesley, the loveliest of lovelies. The cardigan looks really nice and will get a lot of wear, I think. Both versions of your rainbow yarn are beautiful. Glad you are able to do socks on the machine; so many gorgeous pairs to come! Take best care and stay safe. See you next week. 💖💕
Thanks so much - I am pleased with the cardigan and the yarn. I am perfecting my sock recipe (heels etc) and am so delighted with the machine. Hope you are keeping well - it's great to hear from you xx
The scrappy blanket on the tube knitting machine is so smart! I really like that idea. The rainbow rolag spin is absolutely STUNNING! Great podcast as always!
Thanks so much. I am making a couple of gift blankets, and lots of charity hats - the machine is being well used at the moment. Hope all is well with you. Thanks for being here xx
Hi Savannah. Thanks so much. I think I will be doing stripes in it, and using the main colour for the border. Either way, I am looking forward to it. Thanks and all the best xx
My goodness Lesley you have been busy. You sure did make good use of your time off from work. Love all of your FOs especially the knit tube blanket and the crocheted cardigan. Take care.
Thanks Dana - there wasn't much else to do except craft (as I don't do gardening or housework) and so I made the most of the time. Thanks so much and keep well xx
Good morning. Your blanket is gorgeous. I loved the way you closed the tubes and the side seams were invisible. Gorgeous! I really enjoyed the machine knitting segments. They seem so versatile. Your spinning is beautiful and is inspiring me to sit at my wheel. Thank you..:) Always a joy spending some time with your company. Have a wonderful and restful weekend.
Hello Jean. Thank you - you are very kind. I hope you enjoyed your time spinning - I find it such a relaxing process. Take care and thank you for being here xx
Hi. Thank you for finding me, for watching, and for you comment. Lovely to have you here - you came along at a very productive time. Thanks and take care xx
Ohh I love those slippers. I made a few as Christmas presents 🎁. So quick and easy. Also lovley and warm😍. Your Debbie bliss cardi is very nice. Lovely to see you as always 😘
Thank you - it was a bit of a collection of things, wasn't it? I have just finished the next blanket, so on schedule to get them both finished this month - they are smaller than the first one. Thanks so much and take care xx
The tube blanket is so amazing... I have never heard of or seen one like it..... love it,,, your cardigan is beautiful... I like it very much.... looks good on you and looks comfy..,. ❤️🌼
Thanks Nadine. That's appreciated. Some people are using those tubes to make garments - a little beyond my expertise at the moment. Take care and keep well xx
I have a circular knitting machine I’ve been making hats for donation and I really do love the idea of making a blanket. Thanks for the great idea. Stay well.
You have been a very busy woman! I love your sweater! And, I love to knit socks, so I am looking forward to seeing all your future socks! Thank you for sharing! Take care!
Hi Sharron. Thanks so much - I am excited about the sock possibilities, it feels as though a new branch of knitting is opening up for me. Thanks so much for being here and for commenting xx
Huzzah!!!! For getting your knitting machine working!!! Gadgets are certainly a lot of fun!!😈 Thank you, Lesley for the great podcast! Your honesty and whit are just great. I feel you are a dear friend and we both love fiber arts. Such a genuine lady!! Stay safe and NO this was not too long of a podcast!! It felt just right.💜🧶
Hiya Lesley, great podcast as ever. I think it's fantastic how much that you got completed in your 2 weeks off. The yarn you spun is flipping wonderful, that's my colours to a T. Talk about flash back; the sound of your knitting machine transported me back to my childhood home. My Mum had a knitting machine back in the 1980's, whenever she wasn't at work she would be making us something to wear. Thanks ever so much :0) x
Hiya It was a productive time - rarely to be matched, I fear xx There is something hypnotic about that sound, I think. I am glad it took you back. Although I don't have similar memories, I really like the noise - in an age of electronics, I am fond of the mechanical. Thanks so much and take good care xx
These are the times I wish I knew how to knit !! That tube blanket is gorgeous !! I know the tubes were made on a machine but, putting them together to make the tubes into a blanket is usually my down fall !🤦♀️ I am taking this day to catch up...... I’ve gotta get my line up a lot straighter !! I think I’m trying to watch too many channels and missing the ones I want to look at!! Everything you make is right up my ally...... I’ll put colors together that as long as they’re the “ same weight”, and “ goes” together they’ll be put on or in !!
Hi Becky. It is possible to crochet the tubes together, so that might work for you? I also watch loads of channels - much of my life is spent catching up! Thanks for being here and take care xx
I can't tell you how happy I am that you got your machine and ribber to work for you. I'm loving that I can use my machine that way too. Yeah for knitted socks!!!
Enjoyed this episode. Love the sock portion. I live knitting socks. My favorite is a vanilla sock toe up using the "Fleegle Heel" method. It fits my heel very nicely .
Wow Lesley your projects this month are amazing. I am inspired to keep knitting. I particularly like the crocheted jacket very smart . Thanks for sharing . Must go my needles await keep safe and well.
Strangely, my first thought was that the lead actress n Bride of Chucky is a poker player!! And I love the blanket!!! 😍🥰❤️ And the cardigan!!! 😍🥰❤️❤️🥰😍 It was so fun to spend time with you today!!
Lesley! What an awesomely crafty month you had. Everything looks beautiful - especially your handspun. I look forward to seeing what that becomes. Have a great month ahead!!
Thanks Lisa. Thanks so much - I don't think it will be too long before I use the handspun - it is calling me from the cupboard! Thank you and take care xx
Hi Nikii Thank you - I am glad you enjoy the jouneys. I also am interested to see other folks do their regular journeys - it fascinates me to see what is different and what is the same. Thanks and take care xx
WOW You have had an impressive burst of creativity and problem solving to boot! BIG kudos on figuring out the ribber attachment on the machine. It looks all so complicated to me. AND i am gaga over that lovely green smart jacket. I have the pattern and I will be trying that too. SO lovely on you. What a month you've had! Spinning was execptional and look-at-you 'wraps per inch' figures too. Fantastic Leslie!
Thanks Valerie - that whole "not working for two weeks" really helped my creativity. I am super pleased with the jacket - it will get a lot of use, I hope. Take care, thank you and thanks about the spelling - most use the "ie" spelling, so please don't worry xx
If you keep cranking out those blanket tubes and hats, that cabinet behind you might get emptied out so you can store your knit wear. The hat with the slip stitch looks very nice. Your cardigan turned out lovely and I like the buttons you chose.
Hello Jean. It does feel like I have blasted through a lot of stash, but a lot of the stuff in the cupboards isn't superwash, so won't work for charity stuff. It does feel like progress has been made though. Xx Thanks so much and take care xx
Really enjoyed the bumper episode. Lots of finished projects, all so inspiring. Especially love the colourful scrappy blanket, socks and very smart crochet jacket. Looking forward to seeing what the gorgeous rainbow handspun becomes. Plodding on with the jigshawl. Looking to cast or hook on a couple of new projects this coming week. Not exactly sure what though. Enjoy your week and take care. Xx🌈💕
Hi Angela. The Jigshawl is wonderful, but it is a bit of a beast - definitely wise to find an alternative to work on. Take care and look after yourselves xx
As usual a lovely round up of all your makes. I especially like your crochet cardigan. I thought 💭 “awe thats too cute to be bride of chucky...and then you removed the hat “ 😳🙈. 🤣🤣. Thank you for keeping me entertain while seeing up a cardi i just made. Take care xxx
Hi Pip. Yes - that is a terrifying child's head, isn't it? Hope the seaming is going well and that you are pleased with the cardigan. Thanks and take care xx
Sanitized Spring!!! Lol very appropriate for us right now!!! Can't wait to see your shawl with the beautiful yarn you've spun! Doing well here, good health and and love to you and yours!!
Hi Sharon. I know! I had to smile when I saw the yarn name! Thanks so much and glad to hear that you are doing well - long may it contine. Take care xx
Hi Lesley, Baby hat cute, babies grow exponentially so it will soon fit. Blanket looks really good, could be tempted to crochet these together may rethink doing a blanket, don’t want to d blanket stitch, I seem to have a mental block there. Gadget looks cool, may look into that. Your flatbed Takes me back to my Mums knitting machine. Tube socks look good, but. no good to us, everyone has high instep so need lots of gusset increases. You are Very brave knitting with 2.0! Simple stretchy is the cast off I use most - always for socks, and on bottom of top down sweaters lovely bags, I’m always looking at project bags. I do love the slippers. I don’t have super bulky, but I do have vouchers for LYS so may get some, I put the pattern in my Rav library after seeing it on the weekly podcast You have been creative during your time off I love the cardigan, one to consider down loaded the pattern (baa baa) Your hair looks nice, I’ve Booked a hair appt, it’s time to stop looking like Worzel Gummidge. The mittens are fabulous. I’m trying not to buy this year, except to support charity, so Rosie’s Daffodil for Marie Curie socks, Gamer Crafting for homeless charity, but I did succumb to the new WYS Barbara sock yarn and Barbara project bag from Yarndale - but that’s supporting Yarndale, so at a stretch it’s OK. I really need a table with a hole! Got an Addi express for Christmas, and not really anywhere to use it! (Didn’t think that through!) Have a shawl and cardigan to start, picked out the yarns for each, just waiting for a gap in the projects. Cardigan to start when sweater finished. Shawl may be started to alternate with crochet blanket. Our LYS is (thankfully) continuing Zoom K&K until we can meet again at the shop, Hopefully people will behave themselves and this will happen.. Hope you still get crafting time now you are back at work. Stay safe, take care xx
Hi Tricia. Yes , the hat will fit soon, or will fit her older stepsister. The crocheting in the blanket gives a nice effect, I was just in a hurry (as usual!) Hope you enjoy the slippers - very cosy and so straightforward to make x A lot of people also use their Addi on an upturned bar stool - that might be an option. Glad your zooms are still happening - I hope to be part of some, even when we can all meet. Hope you are keeping well and enjoying your projects xx Take care xx
Your knitting machine looks so much fun and I love the idea of clear wellies to show off your socks. I often think what a waste, all that knitting and beautiful yarns being hidden away in shoes. 😊
Hi Lesley, a very interesting episode and your range of finished items are very impressive. I particularly like the crochet cardigan/jacket. It looks like it would be very useful at this time of year when the weather starts to warm up and you don't want or need to wear a coat. xx
Your yarn looks amazing. Here in the Netherlands the lock down will relax a bit shop's will open on wensday as will some pubs and restaurants but they are only allowed serve outside. Thanks for entering on my sunday morning.
I’m a bit late watching, but wow you did get a lot done this month! Love the blankets and the crochet cardigan jacket is very sharp. Love the buttons you chose. Hope things open up for you soon.
Thanks for sharing. I don't mind a long video. I love your crocheted cardigan. I am going to take a look at that pattern and maybe give it a go. you are an inspiration😊. Those tube blankets are marvelous. The crochet hook looked tedious so I'm not surprised you switched to stitch them. Lovely colors on your hand spun. I look forward to seeing how it stitches up. Your slippers needed some of that eyelash yarn😉. Have a good one.
Hi Karen. That's a good idea - and I have some other eyelash yarn, so there maybe some slipper gifts this year! Thanks so much for being here. Take care and keep well xx
Your tube blanket turned out beautifully. I love a project that gobbles up a lot of leftover yarn. I am currently putting an attached 5-stitch icord onto the edge of the huge scrappy blanket I knit (72 garter squares, leftover sock yarn held double, each square is 8x8"). Plan is to finish it before autumn. It is occupying a section of the kitchen counter (bench?) because that makes for a better working height for me. I will have my second Covid vaccine in 2 weeks (yay) and better news is my London son has scheduled his first one for this coming Saturday. Looks as if my family has run the gamut-my mom, sister, 1 son and d-i-l have had Pfizer vaccines; I have had Moderna; London son will have Astra-Zeneca. Happy May.
Hi Janet. Wow! That is a blanket! I can see why you have to work it on the counter! Glad your 2nd jab is lined up, and that your son will have his 1st. Hopefully, we are getting there. Take care xx
You have finished so much this month, hope there was enough time left over for a nap! I have a very similar looking head for toddler size hats, my niece thinks it is creepy. Maybe I should gift it to her in my will. Stay safe and healthy my friend.😷🧶
Thanks for being my fabulous Saturday night entertainment. Great podcast with lots of gorgeousness. I especially love the blanket. It’s so bright and cheerful. Have a great week!! PS. I am assuming that a shawl is an accessory in the MAL? Thought I should check.
Hi Peggy - thanks so much. I was super pleased with the blanket and it's already proving useful. Yes, a shawl is definitely okay for the MAL - thanks for asking. Take care xx
Wow I love that blanket. I’m getting nearer to getting one of those machines. Only problem, I don’t have the table to go with it! I hope that you’ll quickly be able to go back to normal. Enjoy your Sunday! Take care xx
Hi Nadine. The table isn't necessary - it just helps prevent having to stop and roll up the work Hope that you are doing ok and able to do the things that you want. Thanks and take care xx
I do adore you so much!!! The blankets are brilliant. those socks! using the machine is awesome. I love them the rainbow yarn has me wanting to find my wool and start spinning again. I LOVE the cardigan. I think I might make one
Hi Valorie - you are too, too kind. The cardigan is great, but I don't know if it might be a bit warm for Texas? It's certainly heavy, but that's the yarn, more than anything, I think. I was so delighted to get the socks going in the machine - I know it's a huge piece of equipment for a small project, but soooo quick! Lovely to see you at the weekend. Thanks, as always, and take care xx
You have used your time off so brilliantly! Very, very impressed 😇 I love your Channel type blazer! That is going to be so useful (taking Heidi to the beach for example) it is very smart and will be so comfortable to wear. I also love the rainbow fibre ! It is absolutely stunning and can’t wait to see it made up! Lovely long podcast today which I’ve watched in bite size segments! Take care of yourself and thank you xx
Thanks so much Heather. It looks impressive because the blanket and hats are so quick. The jacket will be warm, so I agree - useful for fighting off the breeze from the Channel. Hope you are yours are all doing well. Thanks and all the best xx
I definitely want to make a tube blanket. John loves all the handmade blankets and this could just be added to our "stash". Also that cardigan turned out beautiful, I liked how you used the two dye lots in different places and it all feels really cohesive. Yes, sock tubes! I loved seeing that on the flatbed. I love the diversity you can get with all your stitch counts.
Thanks so much. On the Facebook groups there are some beautiful blankets, especially those made with colour-change yarns - so pretty. I was super pleased with the cardigan - it feels surprisingly "grown up" for me. The sock tubes are very useful - every row is two passes, so not as efficient as, say, a CSM, but fine for my usage. Thanks so much for the encouragement and inspiration. Take care and virtual hugs to you all xx
TY for the whirly machine cast off you use on the tubes, I really appreciate it and will check out the videos. xx (and curse you Lesley!! now I want a ribber lol)
Always nice to start the day watching your podcast. Today hubby actually put you on. ;) And i hope you forgive me for talking about you behind your back. I got interviewed for Distant Stitches' Cafe Chats yesterday. And you sort of came up!
Hi Bente Chat away - that's very kind of you, thank you. I haven't caught up with your podcast yet, but it is in my queue to watch. Hope you are doing okay xx
So enjoyed this podcast. As always, you are so entertaining and this month productive! It is true that knitting is a balm to the soul. I watched while i am recuperating from a broken ankle and not able to get around. My project is growing by leaps and bounds due to the movement restriction. I am catching up on all the podcasts! Hope this next month is just as enjoyable. I’m glad you had some recovery time and also knew enough to take it early enough. See you next week!
Hi Susan. Oh goodness - hope you are not in too much pain with your ankle. Enjoy the crafting time - but I also wish you a speedy recovery. Thanks so much and take care xx
I think it’s amazing what you have done , love the hats , now I don’t know , because I can’t remember , but did you say which circular machine you preferred , any way Lesley you stay safe , look after him indoors and hope he’s doing alright , cooking still ??? And hugs to Heidi she is just so cute xxxxxx as you are ,
Hi George. The other machine is out on loan at the moment - these things were all made on the Addi Kingsize. Himself is fine ta, and spending the day making curries tomorrow. He can stay for this week xx Take good care xx
I love the blanket! Thank you for the info about the adapter for the addi machine. I found a US etsy seller and have bought one for my machine. I'm hoping the Mr E will enjoy using it too as he loves a gadget. Jane xx
Your blanket is beautiful, I love gadgets as well, hubby just bought me a new sewing machine, lots of sewing projects in the future. I really like your socks and the name is so appropriate, lol. Beautiful projects, glad your time off was relaxing and productive. Have a great week.
Crab stitch is a lovely stitch , I really enjoy doing it as well x x x oh dear Misty has had her first injection ,and she eager to go out ,but she can’t yet , was thinking of getting a cat harness ,what you think ???
Hello Delectable, some fabulous finishes my friend , I really like the cardigan. My podcast will be going up next weekend. I need to craft my butt off this week for content after being so poorly for so long . Hopefully we will drum in June back at practice xx
Hello my lovely. Can't wait to see you, and for all the gang to make a dreadful noise together xx Sorry you've had such a rough time of it. Take very good care of yourselves xx
I absolutely LOVE seeing your hand spun yarns. I have been pondering falling into the hand spinning fiber rabbit hole. I tried the drop spinning...dont like anything about it. I suck at it. :(
I didn't get on with drop spinning, either, but I love my wheel. It took a bit of getting used to, but a book I was given suggested 15 minutes per day and I stuck to that, even when it was all going wrong. It did the trick. I am certainly no expert, but I like the yarn that I have made. Be warned - shopping for fibre is as fun as shopping for yarn! Thanks so much xx
Love the blanket, got me wanting a round knitting machine, I have a couple of flat knitting machines, but I have no idea how to thread them! I got them both used and neither came with an owners manual and I cannot find the manuals online either! Really enjoyed all your makes this month. See you Friday! Take care! xx
Hi Anna The manual I got with my flatbed wasn't very comprehensive, so you may not be missing out as much as you think. I found TH-cam very helpful, particularly the channels of Diana Sullivan th-cam.com/users/dianaknits and Buttonmouse th-cam.com/channels/hZw8yV-vq_-HKRLGqdnv_w.html. Thanks so much and take good care xx

Hi Lesley ; I love seeing your finished projects. Please don't feel that you need to apologize for making any long videos . They are really lovely to see and watch.
You are very kind, Vida - thanks so much. I know that a long video can be daunting for some. Take care and thanks for being here xx
Lesley I enjoy watching your podcast and seeing your beautiful projects. Happy knitting 🧶 🧶🧶
Thanks Karen - that is really kind - hope your crafting is bringing you joy xx
Thanks so very much for the chat about the flatbed knitting machine. So helpful. Warm weather is on the way, I promise. And more bird parties and flowering gardens. Cheers 🌷
Hi Cheryl. Thanks so much - It's a new set of skills for me, but I am certainly enjoying the machine. Take care and keep well xx
Absolutely beautiful yarns you made.
Thanks Suzanne - I was very pleased with them. Xx
You need to take care in the UK.
You got so much done- you need to feel like Wonder Woman. You are awesome. Keep it up. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks Debby. That was a productive month - the machine certainly helped xx
Joyful productivity and it is all so beautiful! Your podcasts always make me happy. Thank you.
You are very kind - thanks so much for being here and for watching. Great to hear from you xx

Hi Leslie, I love all your projects, the scrap blanket is beautiful ❤️
Thanks, Monica. It came out better than I expected, and is proving useful, too. Thanks and take good care xx

Hi Leslie! The blanket is beautiful. Very on trend too. Love all your sweaters and handspun yarn.
Thanks so much, Jane. I had no idea that I was on trend, but that's exciting! Thanks and take care xx
The scrappy blanket on the tube knitting machine is so smart! I really like that idea. The rainbow rolag spin is absolutely STUNNING! Great podcast as always!
Thanks Shauna. Hope you are doing okay.
When my spinning is as neat and consistent as yours, I will be very happy.
Take good care xx
Oh my goodness, the rainbow yarn, beautiful!!
Thanks Joke - I think that will have to be made into something soon. xx Hope all is well with you xx
The tube blanket is amazing! Such a great way to use up scraps and make blankets for charity.
Thanks so much.
I am making a couple of gift blankets, and lots of charity hats - the machine is being well used at the moment.
Hope all is well with you. Thanks for being here xx
I love gadgets , they are amazing xx I share your joy xxx
Thanks - I am having a lot of fun playing x
That rainbow spin was GORGEOUS! I really hope you have enough to do that lacy border on Marce’s shawl.
Hi Savannah. Thanks so much. I think I will be doing stripes in it, and using the main colour for the border. Either way, I am looking forward to it.
Thanks and all the best xx
Now that crochet jacket is really lovely! It's so pleasing when something turns out the way you hoped it would!
Thanks Mairead - it was worth the false starts.
Hope you are going along ok xx
Thanks to you for this lovely podcast!
Your blanket is absolutely amazing 👏
Take care and keep carrying yarn 🧶🧶🧶
Thanks Johane - I was very pleased with the blanket, and it's proving useful already. Thanks so much and keep well xx
Thank you for another entertaining, funny, and uplifting episode. You draw a lovely community together because YOU are truly lovely! Be well!
Oh Kathryn, that is very kind of you - thank you so much. Hope you are keeping well and happy xx
What a wonderful podcast, this is the first time I have seen one of your shows. Thank you for sharing your woolly crafting 🙂
Hi. Thank you for finding me, for watching, and for you comment. Lovely to have you here - you came along at a very productive time.
Thanks and take care xx
Thank you, I was looking for a pattern like this baby hat last night. It is perfect for what I want. 💐❤️
Oh, that's great - it's a cute little pattern. I hope that the one you make fits!
Thanks and take care xx
Ohh I love those slippers. I made a few as Christmas presents 🎁. So quick and easy. Also lovley and warm😍. Your Debbie bliss cardi is very nice. Lovely to see you as always 😘
Thanks Liza. I imagine your Christmas slippers were very well received.
Thanks so much and great to see you yesterday xx
Loved all the rainbow yarn you have spun up Lesley. Glad that the time out enabled you to 'recharge the batteries' for you :-)
Hi Summer - thanks so much, it really did the trick.
Hope you are keeping well. Thanks so much xx
I enjoyed your podcast as per usual. Merci
That is so very kind - merci beaucoup xx
That was 6 months worth of crafting! You went through an amazing amount of yarn. Good luck with the next two blankets
You don’t have to apologize for a long podcast. We can watch it in pieces like I did today. 😁 Great to see you in Barbara and Valerie’s zoom! ❤️
Thanks Danielle - I guess it helps that I do it in sections, too. Thanks so much and it was lovely to see you at the Zoom xx
Never lose hope! blessings from Greece
Absolutely - take care, keep hopeful and have fun xx
I have a circular knitting machine I’ve been making hats for donation and I really do love the idea of making a blanket. Thanks for the great idea. Stay well.
Hi Joel. It's also a great stash buster, if you've got lots of scraps and ends of the right weight. Thanks so much and hope you are well xx
Another great podcast, Lesley. Especially enjoy when Bride of Chuckie makes an appearance.
Hiya. Well, she's quite the star, isn't she? And I'm too scared to say no, when she wants to take part!
Thanks and keep well xx
You have been a very busy woman! I love your sweater! And, I love to knit socks, so I am looking forward to seeing all your future socks! Thank you for sharing! Take care!
Hi Sharron.
Thanks so much - I am excited about the sock possibilities, it feels as though a new branch of knitting is opening up for me.
Thanks so much for being here and for commenting xx
Huzzah!!!! For getting your knitting machine working!!! Gadgets are certainly a lot of fun!!😈
Thank you, Lesley for the great podcast! Your honesty and whit are just great. I feel you are a dear friend and we both love fiber arts. Such a genuine lady!!
Stay safe and NO this was not too long of a podcast!! It felt just right.💜🧶
Thanks so much, Mary. You are very kind. Enjoy your crafting, stay safe and thank you for being here xx
Lovely blanket , lovely Heidi xxx
Heidi says thank you xx
Thank you for another enjoyable time!
Thanks for being here. Take care xx
Hiya
It was a productive time - rarely to be matched, I fear xx
There is something hypnotic about that sound, I think.
If I could I think I would get one of those machines , i love seeing what you do with it xxx
It has turned out as more versatile than I thought - still limited, but not as much as I expected.
Thanks so much and take good care of yourself xx
I can't tell you how happy I am that you got your machine and ribber to work for you. I'm loving that I can use my machine that way too. Yeah for knitted socks!!!
Hi Carie. Thanks for the inspiration - it's much appreciated xx
That blanket is fabulous!!!!!
Thanks Melanie - I was very pleased with how it turned out xx
The blanket is Beautiful :) :) great episode.
thanks so much - that's appreciated. Hope all is well with you xx
Love the colors of your colorblock sweater.
Thank you - hope all is well with you. Take care xx
So enjoy your episodes. Your awesome sauce woman, fanks for all the content 😘
Hi Paula - I rather like being awesome sauce! Thanks so much and take care xx
Enjoyed this episode. Love
the sock portion. I live knitting socks. My favorite is a vanilla sock toe up using the "Fleegle Heel" method. It fits my heel very nicely .
Hiya.
Thanks for that - I have heard of the Fleegle. Do you know if it is possible as an afterthought?
Thanks so much and hope you are well xx
Wow Lesley your projects this month are amazing. I am inspired to keep knitting. I particularly like the crocheted jacket very smart . Thanks for sharing . Must go my needles await keep safe and well.
Hi Barbara - the joy of time off work. Hope you are enjoying your crafting. Thanks so much and take care xx
Strangely, my first thought was that the lead actress n Bride of Chucky is a poker player!!
And I love the blanket!!! 😍🥰❤️
And the cardigan!!! 😍🥰❤️❤️🥰😍
It was so fun to spend time with you today!!
Ha! Poker playing Bride of Chucky? It's fun when worlds collide! Thanks so much and thanks again for the zoom - it was a lot of fun xx
I also like to see your videos of your trips. It’s interesting to me to see the vegetation, architecture, road design, what people are wearing, etc.
Hi Nikii
Thank you - I am glad you enjoy the jouneys. I also am interested to see other folks do their regular journeys - it fascinates me to see what is different and what is the same.
Thanks and take care xx
Beautiful tube blanket! I love it💕
Thanks so much - it used up scraps so well.
Hope all is good with you xx
WOW You have had an impressive burst of creativity and problem solving to boot! BIG kudos on figuring out the ribber attachment on the machine. It looks all so complicated to me. AND i am gaga over that lovely green smart jacket. I have the pattern and I will be trying that too. SO lovely on you. What a month you've had! Spinning was execptional and look-at-you 'wraps per inch' figures too. Fantastic Leslie!
Lesley... not Leslie! I appologize.
Xx
Thanks so much and take care xx
Yay x2!! Have a great weekend and week, lovely lady!!
Thank you, you are too kind. Take care and have fun xx
Cute sun hat.
Thanks Maribel. Hope all is well with you xx
Hi Lesley,
Baby hat cute, babies grow exponentially so it will soon fit.
Simple stretchy is the cast off I use most - always for socks, and on bottom of top down sweaters
lovely bags, I’m always looking at project bags.
I do love the slippers. I don’t have super bulky, but I do have vouchers for LYS so may get some, I put the pattern in my Rav library after seeing it on the weekly podcast
You have been creative during your time off
I love the cardigan, one to consider down loaded the pattern (baa baa)
Your hair looks nice, I’ve Booked a hair appt, it’s time to stop looking like Worzel Gummidge.
(Didn’t think that through!)
Have a shawl and cardigan to start, picked out the yarns for each, just waiting for a gap in the projects.
The crocheting in the blanket gives a nice effect, I was just in a hurry (as usual!)
Hope you enjoy the slippers - very cosy and so straightforward to make x
A lot of people also use their Addi on an upturned bar stool - that might be an option.
Glad your zooms are still happening - I hope to be part of some, even when we can all meet.
Hope you are keeping well and enjoying your projects xx
Take care xx
I LOVE your green cardigan!! So many makes, nicely done. Charity will be so grateful😊 hope himself is well.
Hi Lisa. Thanks so much. All well here, thanks. Hope you are too xx
Hi, enjoyed the podcast and hope you and family are doing well. We are doing well. Stay safe.
Hi Thadis. Glad to hear that you are doing ok. Thanks so much and stay safe xx
Your knitting machine looks so much fun and I love the idea of clear wellies to show off your socks. I often think what a waste, all that knitting and beautiful yarns being hidden away in shoes. 😊
Hi Anita. Thanks so much - they are called "festival boots" - a bit like DMs, but clear. Fun, now I am making socks!
Hope you are doing ok xx
@@NotQuiteEnoughYarn Even better 😁
Hi Lesley, a very interesting episode and your range of finished items are very impressive.
I particularly like the crochet cardigan/jacket. It looks like it would be very useful at this time of year when the weather starts to warm up and you don't want or need to wear a coat. xx
Hi Anne.
I am certainly hoping to get a lot of use from it. Take care and thank you xx
Cant wait til the end of the podcast Lesley to say the blanket is AWESOME - I for one am envious!
Thanks so much, Jeanette - I am pleased with how it turned out - it wasn't that promising when it was still tubes! Thanks and take care xx
Love all the knits and the sections on closing the tube and mock cable like the longer podcast means longer visit happy crafting Joan
Thanks Joan - you are very kind. Hope all is well with you. Take care xx
Your yarn looks amazing. Here in the Netherlands the lock down will relax a bit shop's will open on wensday as will some pubs and restaurants but they are only allowed serve outside. Thanks for entering on my sunday morning.
Hi Ellen. That sounds similar to here - outside dining only. A bit too cold for that, inmost places! Thanks so much and hope you are well xx
Always a joy to watch your episodes! I am happy for lengthier visits with you while I craft 🙂. You have been very busy! Enjoy May 🌷, best wishes!
Hi Denise. Thank you for spending your crafting time with me , it means so much xx
Your tube blanket is very nice! I might have to try one with my circular knitting machine! Keep on!!
Hiya.
It's certainly a great way to use up scraps of yarn.
Thanks and take care xx
I loved the rainbow hand spun. I’m not generally a rainbow person, but that yarn is gorgeous! Have a great week, see you soon!
Thanks so much, Teena. I look forward to seeing how it works up.
Thanks and take care xx
I’m a bit late watching, but wow you did get a lot done this month! Love the blankets and the crochet cardigan jacket is very sharp. Love the buttons you chose. Hope things open up for you soon.
Thanks Amy.
It certainly felt like a productive period xx
Take good care and keep well xx
Hi Deb.
Some napping was involved - it couldn't be any other way.
There is something about those heads, isn't there?
Thanks so much and take care xx
Love yr podcasts. You really cheer me up xxxx
Thanks Sue. Hope you are doing ok xx
Great video thank you
Thanks so much for watching xx
Thanks for being my fabulous Saturday night entertainment. Great podcast with lots of gorgeousness. I especially love the blanket. It’s so bright and cheerful. Have a great week!! PS. I am assuming that a shawl is an accessory in the MAL? Thought I should check.
Hi Peggy - thanks so much. I was super pleased with the blanket and it's already proving useful.
Yes, a shawl is definitely okay for the MAL - thanks for asking. Take care xx
Absolutely love your blanket.
Thanks Bernadette - I am very happy with it. Thanks and take care xx
Wow I love that blanket. I’m getting nearer to getting one of those machines. Only problem, I don’t have the table to go with it! I hope that you’ll quickly be able to go back to normal. Enjoy your Sunday! Take care xx
Hi Nadine.
The table isn't necessary - it just helps prevent having to stop and roll up the work
Hope that you are doing ok and able to do the things that you want.
Thanks and take care xx
I do adore you so much!!! The blankets are brilliant.
those socks! using the machine is awesome. I love them
the rainbow yarn has me wanting to find my wool and start spinning again.
I LOVE the cardigan. I think I might make one
LIsa what is that pattern???
i enjoyed every single moment.
@@VisitWithNanaAndPapa The cardigan? www.yarnspirations.com/caron-adult-crochet-crew-neck-cardigan/CAC0429-007984M.html xx
I love your rainbow yarn that you spun. It is beautiful. Your sweater is lovely.
Thanks Mel, that is really kind. Hope all is well with you xx
How did I just find your channel? Well, I found it today, so glad I did. New sub alert. Hello from the 🇺🇲!
Hi Kim.
I am very glad you found me, too! Welcome and thanks for being here xx
Oh and the rainbow rolags 😍😍😍💯🌈🌈🌈👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much. On the Facebook groups there are some beautiful blankets, especially those made with colour-change yarns - so pretty.
I was super pleased with the cardigan - it feels surprisingly "grown up" for me.
The sock tubes are very useful - every row is two passes, so not as efficient as, say, a CSM, but fine for my usage.
Thanks so much for the encouragement and inspiration.
Take care and virtual hugs to you all xx
Hi just a thought you could do the cable on the blankets !
Hiya.
Yes - that would look great. Thanks for a great suggestion. Take care xx
I’m definitely making one of those scrappy blankets this year. Thanks so much for your video
Hi Pamela. They are so quick to do and very cosy. Have fun and thank you xx
TY for the whirly machine cast off you use on the tubes, I really appreciate it and will check out the videos. xx (and curse you Lesley!! now I want a ribber lol)
Sorry Cat! I didn't mean to be an enabler!
It's only because I am a lazy sock knitter that I get so excited about it.
Thanks and take good care xx
Always nice to start the day watching your podcast. Today hubby actually put you on. ;) And i hope you forgive me for talking about you behind your back. I got interviewed for Distant Stitches' Cafe Chats yesterday. And you sort of came up!
Hi Bente
Chat away - that's very kind of you, thank you. I haven't caught up with your podcast yet, but it is in my queue to watch. Hope you are doing okay xx
@@NotQuiteEnoughYarn It's looking up. I'm taking this week off dyeng to pamper myself a bit. And I have the festival to look forward to!
Those of us with kids drop them too. Long as there's no lasting damage, no one needs to know right?
Phew - I thought I was going to be reported to the "cruelty to dolls" department!
Thanks so much and hope all is well with you xx
I think it’s amazing what you have done , love the hats , now I don’t know , because I can’t remember , but did you say which circular machine you preferred , any way Lesley you stay safe , look after him indoors and hope he’s doing alright , cooking still ??? And hugs to Heidi she is just so cute xxxxxx as you are ,
Hi George. The other machine is out on loan at the moment - these things were all made on the Addi Kingsize.
Himself is fine ta, and spending the day making curries tomorrow. He can stay for this week xx
Take good care xx
I love the blanket! Thank you for the info about the adapter for the addi machine. I found a US etsy seller and have bought one for my machine. I'm hoping the Mr E will enjoy using it too as he loves a gadget. Jane xx
Hi Jane.
Glad you managed to get hold of an adapter. Fingers crossed that Mr E will want to have a go when it arrives.
Thanks so much and take care xx
Your blanket is beautiful, I love gadgets as well, hubby just bought me a new sewing machine, lots of sewing projects in the future. I really like your socks and the name is so appropriate, lol. Beautiful projects, glad your time off was relaxing and productive. Have a great week.
Hi Mary.
Ooh! A new sewing machine - that is very exciting. I wish you all fun and joy with it.
Thanks so much and take care xx
Your crochet sweater looks very nice on you. I was thinking that the neckline lends itself to a cowl you might have.
Good suggestion. Or, as I have yarn left, perhaps making a cowl to go with it? I will see how it feels. Thanks so much and take care xx
Wow indeed what you going to do with all that , I spyed I think 3 balls of a lovely yellow x x
Hiya.
I have used some of the yellow in my next blankets - it's a pretty shade xx
Crab stitch is a lovely stitch , I really enjoy doing it as well x x x oh dear Misty has had her first injection ,and she eager to go out ,but she can’t yet , was thinking of getting a cat harness ,what you think ???
I used to have a deaf cat, so with a harness and lead, I could safely secure her outside, knowing that she couldn't go too far.
Might be an option xx
Hello Delectable, some fabulous finishes my friend , I really like the cardigan. My podcast will be going up next weekend. I need to craft my butt off this week for content after being so poorly for so long .
Hopefully we will drum in June back at practice xx
Hello my lovely. Can't wait to see you, and for all the gang to make a dreadful noise together xx
Sorry you've had such a rough time of it.
Take very good care of yourselves xx
That crochet cardigan is amazing and looks lovely on you , I like it xx wonder what other yarn you could use xx
Any aran weight boucle? Or something like a felted yarn, perhaps?
Take care! xx
Hi Anna
The manual I got with my flatbed wasn't very comprehensive, so you may not be missing out as much as you think. I found TH-cam very helpful, particularly the channels of Diana Sullivan th-cam.com/users/dianaknits and Buttonmouse th-cam.com/channels/hZw8yV-vq_-HKRLGqdnv_w.html.
Thanks so much and take good care xx
Thank you for the tip on the channels to check out! Will definitely do that!!
