ABD120 Well the thing is, we can cover more ground more quickly in a car. We can get to an emergency quicker in a car. I love foot patrols but when a grade 1 comes in, we need to go, and it's no use if the car is a mile or two away. If we drive we can cover 10x the streets we can on foot. And sadly there aren't enough cops to do foot patrols and mobile patrols.

Police are able to arrest you if they think a crime may occur, whether you're the victim or the perpetrator. It is very orwellian
Breach of the peace is a controversial charge that is extremely wide-ranging. The general definition is "behaviour that can cause fear or alarm in others" but the charge is used to arrest in many, many cases; sometimes when officers can't ascertain the specific charge they wish to arrest on. It is pretty Orwellian indeed from this lawyer's perspective.

I live in this area, I worked in a bar which is 500ft away aka 170 odd yards from a police station, we had a guy destroying the bar and it took police 5 hours to arrive after he had left to write a report. This video is shows very truely that police will hardly ever come out to an incident around here.
This is the same in my city. I feel really unsafe, we have no doctors and police don’t show up. The police were walking around downtown in groups on Canada day joking and I got assaulted, called 911 and nobody arrived

Police all over the UK don't bother attending low crime or burglaries its a known fact, its not limited to Hartlepool. They either don't have the resources or just cant be bothered to respond to something where it is unlikely they will ever catch the culprits.

As someone who lives about 15 minutes away and has the same durham and clevland police force it is not just a problem in hartlepool it is a visable problem across the whole area

I live in the Durham area/around Hartlepool and I have to say there is not a lot of anti-social behaviour (such as the guy taking a dump in his hand and throwing it on the ground for example). I have been visiting there for at least 3 years now considering I go to college part time there studying I.T. and through my life I have met more good than bad. I am surprised how many people they've captured doing bad things which could've happened anywhere within the U.K and they're shifting the blame onto the North East.
In all my life, I have not experienced one problem in Hartlepool. Maybe call me lucky, but I think BBC is just shifting on the blame to our areas.

I’m disgusted by my own town 😒 the amount of times I’ve had my own home broken into. I saw my house in this too 😐. The police said that they would investigate my B&E at home but they didn’t do anything about it. There’s been stabbing a AT THE HEADLAND CARNIVAL. CHILDREN HAD TO WATCH A GUY BE STABBED BE STABBED TO DEATH. Honestly disgusted the children are also disgusting here. I was assaulted and bullied many times as a child. My town seems it needs a wake up call. There’s like 7 fire stations just in my local area because of all the arsonists I believe. God help this backwards town.
So it would be easy to create a diversion with minor offenses whilst serious crimes are being committed elsewhere.
