- Abbey explains all about her experience on Netflix’s Love On The Spectrum- from filming the show, to meeting her amazing boyfriend, David and how far they’ve come as a couple! They are so similar in so many ways and truly understand how each other’s minds work.
I really like Abbey. In the scene where she and David started singing "can you feel the love tonight", you can really tell that they are a match. Singing together is such a romantic and fun thing to do!

as an Autistic person. How we express ourselves and how we internalise thoughts are so different than most people.
Our perception of reality is quite accurate, we just miss some things. How we express ourselves is altered, which really seems to throw people off.
But we aren't deficient or damaged. We are able to articulate internally a whole wide range of emotions, thoughts and perceptions. Even though it can come off childish or basic. It really isn't. That's where our inability to express our true thoughts and perceptions comes into place.
Some people see us as dumb or childlike when it really isn't. We're adults. We're just wired differently.
I don't see it as dumb, but honest. That's why I love this show because unlike other dating documentary shows I believe that these people are speaking their truth
Abbey is my absolute favorite on the show. She has brought a lot of joy to people all over the world. I’m not a cryer but I cried a lot when David and abbey sang “can you feel the love” on the last episode. And to mom, you are such a fighter and Abbey is blessed to have you and her you.

Very happy for Abbey and David. So often we spectrumy folks can end up in abusive relationships because we don't play the same unspoken manipulation 'games' as NTs, so it's very good she found someone who understands her mind and knows all of the lyrics to every Lion King song
If I had known I was autistic earlier in life, I would definitely have gone that route…looking for someone like I am. I WAS abused by an autistic man who learned it from his family, though, so it’s not a perfect method of avoiding abuse. He did understand me in ways others didn’t, but he didn’t have the best example. David seems like a really nice guy, though, much more like Abbey than that one was like me!

I know what synesthesia is and I think David (and myself, as well) might have it, too! I sometimes think of letters and numbers as having personalities, though I'm not sure if that's quite the same thing. I used to take a creative writing class, and one day, the entire class was talking about synesthesia and things related to it that they all had. It was pretty amazing!

I can hear colors that don’t exist on the visual spectrum. Everyone that hears that thinks it’s so cool but I don’t understand what you’re hearing in sound of not color!!
I have that too. I also see shapes and colors when listening to music or thinking of an emotion etc

My friend is high functioning and he doesn't reflect any of these people in the show...not everybody with Autism is super exaggerated like this.
