@Kes0zZ RESPONSE: The M-Audio Axiom 25 V2?s DirectLink mode automatically maps onboard controls to DAW mixer parameters?no complex setup required. @Kim Aadnøy Robertsen Each controller can be mapped to just about any MIDI message available. And with the new Instrument mode, a single button press instantly maps the fader, buttons, and encoders to any virtual instrument inside your DirectLink-compatible host. DirectLink mode automatically maps controls to common DAW and virtual instrument parameters. Factory presets map controls to: Xpand!2,Hybrid,Velvet,Strike,Oddity,ImpOSCar,Minimonsta:Melohman.
@AnEffinWookie McDSP Massive is a plug-in that works with your DAW - so the Axiom 25 (via it's own Direct Link software) should work fine with it if you are using GarageBand, Logic, Reason, Cubase, Record, Protools, or Abelton Live.
Having just purchased one I can say that it has 20 different patches that store the values of all the different controls. While the reviewer is correct, it does have a fairly handy DirectLink feature that maps controls to your DAW. What is missing, and I consider this to be the breaking point, is software to program and upload/download patch collections to and from the keyboard. This means you have to program the keyboard manually and save the configs using sysex dumps.

Your Axiom controller will not make any sound unless it is connected to a computer or other external MIDI gear. Choosing a 25 or 49 key controller is a personal choice dependent upon your space, portability needs and budget. Many feel that the 49 key model is easier to use with more triggers, knobs and faders. Consider that both the Novation and the Akai keyboards of a similar configuration both have software that supports programming, uploading, and downloading patches. This is a serious misgiving from Maudio. Like i said, the DirectLink feature is helpful IF you use one of the suported DAWs, which I personally do not. With these unfortunate disadvantages I may sell my unit.
Good thing I always sit on the internet for hours before buying something. I figured that with FL Studio there would be some limitation issues. That kinda bums be out because I have FL, Pro Tools, Ableton & Reason but I use FL the most. While FL is versatile, most midi products seem to be anti FL. I bet there there is a way to map everything smoothly to FL and no one has taken the time to find out. If the Akai MPK can work smoothly than the Axiom should too in a sense.

I have been searching all over the internet for manuals on how to manually program the device with no luck. So my unit has 3 out of 8 pads with a preset and the others are blank. Also my modulation wheel is blank. all else works fine with FL Studio and Ableton. Is there a way to factory reset the unit?
Try reloading the drivers. >Mark
@@BandH What does drivers have to do with programming the device? It's basically a device issue. My PC sees the Axiom and all my DAWS work with it. The Enigma program doesn't recognize my device and not listed. It's a 2nd Gen M-Audio Axiom 25. Not a Gen 1.
I cant find anything on making the axiom 25 direct link with fl studio using windows 8. Could you help me?
As teclas são boas? Tem sensibilidade?
so an axiom 25 (1st gen) can not act as a stand alone?
I have one from years ago that i wanted to start tinkering with. i was hoping i could get it up and running and just play around with the stock sounds and presets/effects by itself.
that being said, i have mpc studio, garage band, and pro tools.
any tips would be appreciated
Hi! How can I control the transport buttons from the Axiom 25? I have tried everything and read the manual but I don't get it! I'm using Logic Pro X and everything else works, but not controlling the transport on the MIDIcontroller. Thanks for the help!
+Emelie Johansson This discontinued controller is no longer available and we have no way to test it with Logic Pro X. Here is a link for set-up information for Logic Pro X: bit.ly/1WxkTwW

how do i hook this up to my macbook for garageband
DirectLink mode provides easy, automatic access to common DAW functions including transport, mixer, track pan, and virtual instrument parameters-no complicated setup required. Free installs for GarageBand are available from the M-Audio website. Connect via the included USB cable.

hola….una pregunta: los pluguins de la Orion vienen con la interface o son de pago aparte.? Gracias
Los complementos no están incluidos con el controlador.
Is there a way to turn off the touch sensitivity on it
The range of the Aftertouch strip may be limited and the velocity of the keyboard may be modulated, but not turned off completely. >Mark
Will the software allow you to use the voices in Garageband?
hey do you know if the M-Audio Axiom 49 MKII Ignite Keyboard Control will go on to windows 10?
@EvolSolitude The AXIOM-25 V2 is a more advanced controller and offers more options and flexibility along with a professional semi-weighted keyboard. it is definitely worth the extra dollars. >Marks< E-mail: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com
Can i use this with a rack sampler, or a synth module or not>?
Is this The Rob Rives of Floppy Sounds? can you confirm that I can use Volca Keys as a sound module with the midi connections?
+Tobes1100 Yes - Rob is THAT Rob Rives from Floppy Sounds. The M-Audio Axiom 25 V2 Keyboard Controller may be plugged into the Volca Keys module via the MIDI I/O.

Hi ' this one is drumpad or what '
I'm thinking about purchasing an Axiom 49 or 61. Can you use these midi keyboards live? (to play with a metal band)
You can use the Axiom 49 or 61 live as long as it is controlling software with virtual instruments. The controllers themselves have no sounds in them. The Axiom 49 can be used as a USB MIDI input device, a MIDI interface, and a control surface.

Hi. Can i use this in a live gig?
Is there a way to connect 2 midi is pro tools, like a axiom 25 and a keyrig 49
juan martinez Your interface would need to allow two MIDI inputs.

Can i connect with a Fast Track II?
AKAI MPK Mini mk2 or M-Audio Axiom 25?
I prefer the Axiom because the keys are much better I find the Akai not as responsive
can I use this for massive on it's own?
Does Pro Tools come with some built in voices we can use for recording piano, synth, strings, etc.? Thanks.
+Jaryd Schneider This controller has been discontinued for years. Here is an approximate replacement from M-Audio:
The M-Audio Axiom AIR Mini 32 USB MIDI Keyboard is designed for mobile studio and live performance applications. The compact USB powered controller features 32 velocity sensitive keys, pitch bend, and modulation buttons, octave/transpose controls, a sustain button, an edit button for changing MIDI assignments, directional navigation buttons, transport controls, eight MIDI knobs, eight velocity sensitive trigger pads with two selectable banks, a Kensington lock for security, and four selectable operation modes.
The controller can be used in HyperControl volume mode where the knobs control the volume levels of selected tracks in your DAW, HyperControl Pan mode where the knobs control panning position, and HyperControl Inst/FX mode for controlling effect plug-in parameters. In MIDI mode, all the controls of the unit will send MIDI messages that the user can assign.
The controller works with a wide variety of MIDI-compatible programs such as Ableton Live. It comes with access to download Ignite, a music production application that seamlessly integrates with any current M-Audio keyboard controller. The software includes over 275 instrument sounds by AIR Music Technology as well as an arpeggiator, chord player, phrase player, the ability to share musical ideas over email, and publish music to Soundcloud. The controller is compatible with both Mac OS X and Windows. bhpho.to/1OQAPcO. >Mark
+B and H I own the Axiom 25 already. I had it new in the box and just took it out. Bought it a few years ago but never used it.
The Axiom 25 is all you need; along with ProTools 8LE you can do anything. Yes, PT comes with craploads of plug-ins for HQ keys, strings, drums etc.
Does this model has an arppegiator ? can anyone tell ?
The M-Audio Axiom 25 V2 Keyboard Controller does not feature an arpeggiator function. >Mark

Will it work with Presonus studio one 2.07?

You will then be able to use your controller with the iPad and any MIDI enabled app, like the Korg Apps. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions. - Juan B askbh{at}bandh{dot}com

an extra slider and maybe a few more menu buttons. other than that they're exactly the same. i don't think the price mark up for the V2 is worth it.
