I bought this keyboard months ago. I use it with Garage band, logic, and pt. It all new to me sequencing in the box, because I'm used to the MPC and external keyboards.

Struggling to get my drum pads to play my drum device in Ableton... Noob i know, but i cant seem to switch it from the functionality where it changes from Arrangement mode to session mode and all kinds of other functionalities to that of simply playing the samples in the drum device
Very personal opinion: a real pro (a guy who can play a keyboard at professional level) is not interested in features like chord or scale, but he would like to know if keybed allows a good dynamic range and if aftertouch works well. Any news about that?
get the 61 it has the best piano velocity than the 49...... aftertouch works good but you cannot assign it yet but the keybed is the best for the price 300 retail sales sometimes cheaper but its worth the money if you want a real piano style feeling.

Nice keyboard but one thing that bothers me is the aftertouch, it requires quite the force to trigger and from then on it's hard to control, it easily goes to max.
I've been using an Alesis QS 6.2 as my midi controller for close to 20 years. One of the keys is no longer velocity sensitive and the pitch wheel is not centering properly. Since I don't really need onboard sounds it looks like the M-Audio Oxygen Pro 61 will replace it. Thanks for the good demo.
Apparently there was an issue with the *pitch wheel when the product first came out, but I've read they later released an update to fix some issues, including the pitch wheel high latency.
did you end up buying one? I am on the fence about getting this one or arturia keylab essential mk 3, or possibly alesis VI61. oh yeah actually I just remembered novation is releasing FLKey 61 soon too. damn too many good midi controllers out there right now.
Are the drum pads programmable? I'm a studio one user, currently using oxygen 49, looking to upgrade, but I've seen comments across the web the you can't change the pads. What if I wanted to press a pad and play a chord, or activate a loop?

So I registered my Oxygen Pro 61, created an iLok act, m-audio account, downloaded all suggested software during set-up, but am completely lost as to how I access the software that was suggested I download during setup. Do I even have access to that? I cannot find access codes for anything but the damn Software Manager. I've downloaded and installed Hybrid 3, for instance, but have no clue how to actually use it. I figure I have to enter a code, but there are no such codes in my m-audio account.
Is there a way to create more notes with the arpeggiator? There's a song by Clairo called Sofia and there is an arpeggiator that comes in at 34 seconds into the song and it has a lot of notes. I need an arpeggiator that can handle that. (BTW, the song is on TH-cam) It's by Clairo and the song is called Sofia
Anyone figure out how to have a default preset and DAW come up after powering down. I've tried sending to RAM but doesn't work. I have my default as the first one so I at least don' have to scroll through them. Hope there is a better solution. Thx.

hahahahah same thing over here, I use muy Korg nanokontrol 2 to control the sounds but i have it over my keyboeard, if i press too hard chord Mode or arp gets selected

May I know whether this keyboard is compatible with the half-pedaling function of continuous expression pedals such as Roland DP-10, Yamaha FC3A or Korg DS-1H (Sending any cc number through 0-127 depending on the pressure applied, could be 3x, 4x, 6x) please? I don't know for sure but usually that's something that depends on the pedal itself. A quality pedal will have the ability to send the half pedal signal to the midi keyboard, as it's really just a big controller for your DAW

are there disadvantages to getting a 61 key over a 49 key? because there is an akai 49 key for 430$ but the same 61 key is 400$ ($30 cheaper) so I was just gona say f it and buy the 61 key, should I ? I'm a Graphic/3D Artist but I plan on learning the piano (in general but also) to make music for the videogame I am creating.
If you're planning on learning to play some bits, we'd definitely recommend more keys, so the 61 is a better option there. They can be less popular as they're bigger and people often prefer to have a more compact MIDI keyboard as you can usually make do with less. However if you want to learn songs less keys can become a big hinderance.
Can you navigate between tracks with this keyboard? It's the only thing that holds me back as I'm looking for a keyboard that keeps me away from the mouse. This one has a decent price and good features. Any info regarding this?

We haven't tested it with Logic ourselves, however there seems to be an update on their website from 18th August regarding Big Sur. The Oxygen Pro series is now Supported* - - *Editor, utility, and/or firmware updater software for this product have not been qualified for support on macOS Big Sur. This page will be updated as necessary to reflect all current compatibility with macOS Big Sur. A second factor to this if you have a newer Mac is Apple's new M1 processors. The Keystation is a more basic standard MIDI keyboard. It doesn't have drum pads and faders, and the more advanced features like Arp, Chord, Scales Modes and Plug-in Presets.
This is very different from a drum machine. A drum machine typically has a sequencer and either a synth engine or samples built in, allowing it to create drum grooves as a standalone unit without need for a computer. The Oxygen Pro is a MIDI keyboard that is design to control instruments by MIDI or virtual instruments in your DAW.
Hey bro.. this was very information. Although those who'd just bought the keyboard aren't sure how to plug in the midi keyboard and record a track using Ableton or Reaper. It would be hugely helpful if you could make a video on how to connect the keyboard to Ableton and Reaper and record a track, showing the computer screen.
The Oxygen Pro connects to your computer via USB, your headphones will then connect to your computer's headphone audio port or to your audio interface (if you have one).
Have you had any issues when playing the keyboard while listening to playback simultaneously? Like playing along with the track? For some reason the notes are delayed or simply not playing at all while playback. But as soon as the track stops playing, I’m able to to hear my playing just fine.
With chord/arp modes, does it actually send the midi for each note? One limitation of my NI M32 (I’m guessing all NI gear) is it only sends the root note played, and software does the rest. This means I can’t edit the midi chords or arp sequence in the DAW’s midi editor. Meanwhile, my cheaparse 10yo Casio keyboard does.
Got mine today. Here's what you can't do: reach your f'ing computer if it's more than 3 feet away. Excited for my 10 ft cable to arrive so I don't have to rearrange my entire studio.
Really hesitating betwewn this and the novation impulse. You didn't talk in depth about the semi weighted keys. As i am hearing nothing even comes close to the impulse. Some even say they prefer it over fully wieghted keys.

I have heard that the mod wheel in the m-audio oxygen 61 pro as an annoying delay. Is it true?

Mine is buggy, sometimes the display is flipped upsidedown and horizontaly and when I play some notes stuck so I have to power off and on again...

OK, the usb cable is actually 5 ft long but still, it plugs in the left side of OxygenP61 and my desktop computer is on the right.
