As a LARPer: your homemade pattern weights look a lot like what I'd call spell packets! I hadn't thought about that possible off-season use for the inevitable six or seven that end up coming home in my pockets until now, so thank you for the unintentional suggestion! The suit is cute as heck, and looks like a good reason to break into some of the nicer bits of one's stash... I know I'm late getting to this video, but I love your channel and this is what the almighty algorithm decided to point me at tonight.
The patterns from "Les Modes de la Femme de France" are typically shown with a layout/cutting diagram for a size 44 mannequin. (I had to look it up, because I have several patterns saved to someday make for myself.) Bust 38" Waist 29" Hip 40"
Yay, you made it!!❤🩱I looove it, especially the white elastic and button detailing, they set off the dark fabric so well! And the cap is so cute🥰 I'm always so happy when someone makes something from those french magazine instructions. Thanks very much for the shoutout😘😘😘
Channel genre suggestion- vintage ephemera or miscellany. I love the randomness of this channel; will it be a hair tutorial or a cosmetic recipe? Either way, it will be informative and super fun, so it's a win/win.
Love your channel! Would love to see more sewing of vintage fashions and/or more vintage fashion information. The suit is adorable. You did a great job! Thanks for all the information.
Oh this is such a fun lil piece! I really like the look of that contrasting elastic, especially against the dark fabric. Makes it look very nautical! A thought occurs to me: you had mentioned that handsewing hurts your hands. I have tendonitis (musician hands!), and I found that my life was made immeasurably easier when I started clamping or pinning one end of my project to either a table or my knee. It meant that i didn't have to hold the seams with tension from my hands alone, and I actually only had to just hold the fabric in place and dart my needle in and out. I got the idea from Bernadette Banner and it really has been a game changer. So if its the tension that hurts your hands, you could look into trying this out! Because finding ways to work without pain is so important. :)
Thanks so much for the suggestion! That sounds like it might be a lot gentler on my hands. I will have to try it out next time I have some hand sewing to do :)
I didn’t know you were Canadian! I am in northern Canada so we really are feeling the chill, no more summer! Your swimsuit you made was really neat and the colour you chose is flattering. I’m thinking you could call your channel antique vintage eclectic vibe??
I'm usually wearing Piggy Paint in the shade "Sometimes Sweet". (I like the brand's other shades, but the red goes well with everything so it's the one I tend to gravitate to.) It's a water-based polish so it doesn't both my chemical sensitivities 🙂
I made it, with 4 hours of summer left! 😆 Hope you all enjoy this fun sewing project!

Channel description you ask? How about "Ye ole vintage lifestyle" "Potions without the poisons" "Recipes for disaster (averted!)" 😂
Love it!
Cute swimsuit. Definitely doable for 2021 😊 Jump in the shower with it and take a selfie! 🤣
You're just the cutest!😁
😊 Thank you
💗CAT CUDDLE BREAK💗 Everything in life needs these. Great job on your swimsuit!
Too Cute! You did great, and it 'suits' you very well🥰

Wow that swimsuit is adorable! I hope you enjoy swimming with it on your autumn trip 🍁🍂🍁
I think it came out beautifully!! You did such a great job, even with some errant bias excitement.
Thanks! :)

That's a great description :)
I love it, esp. the cap. Summer is over in Northern Indiana in the U.S. too. You're right, you could use then as pajamas.
So adorable! I love it. Great job.
I love this- it's so cute ❤️
You're quite pretty, and that project turned out quite nice as well!
I think this is great! I love the look and you really nailed it.
Thanks! :)
Very pretty 😀
How fun and adorable!
I'd love to see a video on the sewing weights. 👀
They are pretty simple. I just took some circles of scrap fabric and filled them with some heavy glass marbles and tied them into little bundles. 🙂
It looks super cute!
Do a video making caps, like the one that you're wearing, and dance with Aggie.
This was fun.
"Summer is over in 2 days". . and Winter starts in 5 days !
Haha, yeah pretty much.
I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!
😊 Thanks!
