Hey guys, this video is about the current state of Gran Turismo Sport (focusing on its singleplayer component) and why I think its one of the best racing games on Playstation right now. And with Gran Turismo 7 around the corner, there is no better time to revisit this game. - เกม

Never understood why this game got so much hate. I almost have 400 total hours in this game. I love everything about it.
Agreed. I think the issue some people have is that they don’t like to race online against others, even though I would imagine most of them would fall in love with the game if they actually tried it
Though I enjoy the game - just downloaded it again and will likely lose another weekend or so happily lost on some random track in a shopping trolley. The reason (imo) for the hate, however unfair, is how much of a change it was compared to the previous Gran Turismo games - no used cars, no branded car mods, no real excitement in building up a garage etc. Existing players wanted an online element but not entirely focused. Compared to older versions, the car variation and campaign felt gutted. Consider the choice of cars and mods in the original or GT2 on the PS2 - many felt that should at least have possible for the team to fit into their 100GB+ game in 2017, online focused or not. The big thing about the cars in the game was originally that these were cars that players had themselves, saw at the street meets or classics they wanted to play with - sticking a turbo on Grandad's motor wasn't allowed irl. This was like the Arcade Mode of earlier games with online play, in terms of the cars and what could be done with them. That didn't require Sony to use Poly in many peoples eyes because they hadn't really included or maybe understood all the elements that had made their games unique in the past and that we couldn't get elsewhere. Through crappy tv speakers and soundcards - that perfect engine sound isn't as important as the the player freedom, imo - it's a cool addition to but not replacement of. And we get butthurt because there's rarely more than one per generation..
You forgot to say that you can download livery made by other players that spent hours recreating a real life livery of a specific race car. It is amazing

He also forgot the part where you cant customize cosmetics on the car like bumpers, wings, exhaust, ect

Its a good sim racer. I enjoyed taking part in the Manufacturers Champ, you get a couple of idiots, but that's the online community in today's world.
But I have really enjoyed the non-racing side of GT Sport over the last year. It is just epic the whole game now.
Great review. My experience has been almost exactly like yours: long time GT fan and played every GT on PS1 - PS3 but never owned a PS4. Picked up GT Sport as soon as I got a PS5 earlier this year and I have been loving it. I'm sure it was painful at launch for traditional single player Gran Turismo players like us, but now it has plenty of content to keep us busy. I'm about 25 hours into the game and still have lots to complete. I would say I'm about 30% done. I echo everything you say in your review except I want to add that the 4K HDR mode is absolutely breathtaking. The skies and reflections are seriously impressive. Also the load times and UI responsiveness on PS5 make it so much more enjoyable to play than previous GT games. Waiting 30-60 seconds for a race to load was always one of the most annoying parts of older GT games. Also the Lewis Hamilton Time Trial Challenge DLC is pretty cool.
Unfortunately I have some negative things to say about GT Sport's single player campaign:
1. Very limited static car rewards. Most car rewards are random lootbox-style, which is kind of a letdown.
2. No car rewards for GT League. Unlocking car rewards (even random rewards) for getting gold in each group of races would have been nice.
3. No championship-style races as in previous GT games.
4. Every GT league race is a single race with a rolling start.
5. Lewis Hamilton's lap times are impossible to get better than silver (at least for me).
However despite these flaws GT Sport is my 2nd favorite game in the series after GT4.

Nice video. GT Sport was my first Gran Turismo and I think it is a very solid game overall. Coming from an NFS background, I do wish the campaign mode and single player content was a little better though. Multiplayer seems to be the primary focus, I don't like online racing so I couldn't enjoy it as much as other people. I'm hyped for Gran Turismo 7 and will pick it up day 1 for sure.
I reinstalled my copy of the game on PS5 after being turned off by the online only modes and a piss poor campaign mode only to see that they updated the hell out of it and added a campaign mode very reminiscent of Prologue 5 and was super excited. This will be my GT 7 Prologue and I could not be more happy about it.

I have been a GT fan since part 1... They did a great thing with GT Sport in terms of graphics and Scapes, but feel it isn't a complete game like it's predecessors.
I got bored of the Sport and ended up getting Project Cars 2 and Assetto Corsa
I do think for the PS4 platform though, that GT Sport is the best.
I've waited for GT7 forever it feels like and have been put off for so long that I don't even care anymore. I guess the +side is that I'm willing to wait until it releases before buying the PS5.
I just wish PD put out more information... Doesn't make sense to me that they didn't just launch GT7 with the PS5 (which would've sold more consoles) and then just add updates here and there like they did with GT Sport. GT has always been a console seller

I never played any GT games but Alot of hype was behind upcoming GT 7 & I'm still pondering if I should wait or pick this one up. I'm more of A casual racing fan. (F1,NFS,Grid,) so I was worried I wouldn't like this game because of it's difficulty lol but this review is great & gives me something to think about

I am so glad I bought it late in 2021 that I got two of my favorite cars I wanted to try out the Yaris GR 2020 and the GT86 21. Only $15 in Amazon plus Im playing it on PS5 but I need to get a wheel and pedal soon for the full experience. I am shocked you could use old GT controls on the controller with the D-pad to Steer and X and square for the brake and Gas

Just picked up the game yesterday... I have two Porches in my garage now and I LOVE them! I'm still trying to figure out the Sport mode... like.. where do you find different races you can join? Are they still doing championships, for example? I'm only like level 12 so I don't know if I just don't access to all of the pvp races yet. Nice vid mate
Very late to the PS5 train but been a huge fan of gran turismo up until sport. Left it due to the rough launch and I was jsut looking at it like. Should I? and this video helped me make that decision, thank you.

Big Forza fan, not necessarily bias towards it but it’s what I’m used too. Haven’t played a GT game since my PS2 when I was like 6 years old. Watching a lot of Drag videos lately and it seems fun/different, something new. Would any of you say it’s worth it to pick up a PS4 for me and my buddy to play?
I don’t think it’s good enough to buy a PS4, but if you can get a good deal on a PS4 go ahead, it’s a great game

I made the move from FM7 as well. Went from defending the game to becoming frustrated with it, acknowledging older FMs were better, then finally doing the previously unthinkable and starting GTS.
It's difficult to explain, but Gran Turismo Sport just feels "right". In Forza I'd get the impression there weren't cars, but archetypes the cars in the game were adjusted to. FF archetype, mid engine archetype and so on. Another problem was how everything feels way too stiff, as if the tires were too hard and the car had no springs. GTS on the other hand is closer to Project Cars than to FM7.
I have more than 3,000 hours in the last 3 Forza games. Forza Horizon is a well made game ruined by poor design choices and engagement mechanics. Forza Motorsport must prove itself to win me back. Right now I see myself getting GT7 day one and not looking back, as well as hoping TDU Solar Crown turns out good.
Does it have a lot more content in offline mode compared from launch?

Gt6 was my favorite hands down idk why but it was. gt4 had better gameplay but something about gt6 made me fall in love and I still to this day play on my ps3 just to go back to play gt6
I remember spending countless hours in GT6, I cant quite pinpoint exactly why but I have so many amazing memories of that game

Yeah me 2 but it cant happen because forza is a bit of more an arcady game and not that realistic, but that really depends on if you play horizon or motorsport. I personaly play Horizon 4 and i can say its way different. Btw i would like it to be a bit easyer to drift to.

Is the career mode still online only?
I liked the GT league, but the cpu felt a bit... easy even at the harder challenges.
This even had VR
I haven't played Sport in over a year and a half now. As with all the other GT games I've played over the years (4, 5, and 6) I play until I reach the more advanced races and the endurance races. I was also less than impressed with Sport. But I'm still hyped for GT7.
@Asim Ali Khan this game requires an internet connection at all times for saving due to its close ties to the FIA Racing organization, to play online in Sport mode and lobbies you must have PS Plus, the GT Leauge is the career mode for this game

There is no real DLC cars, when I bought the game all cars were available to me

It’s quite large, just under 100 GB with all the extra scapes pack. But around 70 GB normal

It a really cool game, I have 60+ cars, and I highly recommend virtual reality addition and if possible get the original grand turismo wheel with force back making it so amazing, and in manual using shifters..if u need any help feel free to message me, I finished I’ll license and training, good way to loot up $$ and start spending really money(500k+) when u have at least 5 million, that’s how I did it, I’m mostly online now playing
For those who play online, I grate car for GR 3 RACING use the following card 1: porche 911 2017 gr3 , also corvette c7 gr3, I place between 1st and 4th with these cars

Nice video but can't agree with your opinion on the AI, no they are not OK. Put them in GRP1 cars at Laguna and you'll see them crash every couple of laps, also the breaking on corner exits gets infurating. Rest of your video was a good showcase for the game and well put together.

I like the crashing, it's the best part about the AI. I've had some pretty memorable moments on the historic race at Sarthe with Days of Thunder like carnage on the Mulsanne straight. That said, your point stands, the AI is pretty terrible. The mid corner breaking is both bad from a racing standpoint and for immersion. The AI and penalty system are the #1 things I want to see improved in GT7.
I have a question how come I cant buy cars cant go to campaign and mostly everything is locked its says I can only play arcade mode

Is there a way hide/customize that annoying hud? Why does the lap time have to be on the middle of the screen? I get that this is more of a "game" rather than a "sim", but it could still have more serious presentation a whole. The menus and sounds are also horrible all round.

Scapes is lame compared to pausing a replay and taking pics from any position
Cars in scapes are slightly, but noticeably, higher quality than cars on the replay system. If you were to compare a picture of a turn on Nurburgring Nordschleife in scapes next to a recreation of that same corner in the replay system, there’s a significant difference in quality and details between a real life photo rendered into the game and the modeled track.

I just had to come on here to vent, this is meant for anybody who might be curious about this game as this video convinced me to buy it and i wish it hadn't, i just spent three days with this game and first let me say that it is the biggest waste of money i have ever spent in my life, first of all you can't play it, like.. AT ALL, the game won't let you, after finishing the first section in career mode you can't race anymore, period. when you try it simply won't let you select a vehicle and there is no way to use ANY vehicles you purchased in the showroom, even though it boasts that you can, and you can tune any car you have in the garage till the cows come home to try to get it to the correct 'specifications' it is not going to let you race anymore, i tried everything imaginable to get it to let me play another career section cause the racing itself was actually really fun, but nope, the game just literally gives you the finger after the first career section and seems to mock you with the music as you try desperately to find a solution to the problem, after three days of trying i decided it was time to give up, hours of searching google for tutorials and any information i could possibly find about what i was doing wrong had legitimately given me a headache and eye strain so i deleted this horrible game and all its content from my ps4, chalking up the 30$ i spent on the deluxe version of this shitty game as a loss i'm forced to take. If you are at all curious about Gran Turismo Sport just don't, there are so many other GOOD racing games, Gravel, Project Cars, just to name a few. I suggest one of those or anything other than GT Sport, this is by far the most awful experience i've ever had with a video game and i can't believe i wasted three days and 30$ on it, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
All you have to do is go into single event or time trial and select garage cars and you can use them in any way you want…

Haha nowhere near Shadow Of War, the only micro transactions I saw are that you can choose to buy cars with real money, but the game doesn’t force you to and you can turn that off in the options menu

BTW Monolith didn't do anything, Warner forced them to. I played through Shadow of War this year, no more MTX and endgame has cool new items. Amazing game ruined by a greedy publisher.

They are trying to make GT7 UI look like GT6 which is bland and soulless. I hate the mobile app like UI in that GT7 add! That shit is pathetic and needs to go! This isn't a mobile game! Bring back a mixture of GT2 & GT3 simple but charming UI, GT4 mighty and adventures UI, and some elements of GT5 like the UI for the premium cars. There is literally everything in the past presentations that they can work on to refine and make beautiful. This so called "modern" crap is ass! GT Sport UI is ok.
