Very Ethereal stuff here. That's a lot of gear, but it still sounds much larger. It's always very cool to see these somewhat disconnected jams rather than very polished tracks. Both have their place of course, but there's just something special about having the gear in front of you and performing a track like this. Solid stuff!
Couldn't agree more, makes me ache to get a couple of Syd Mead's Artbooks to look threw alongside music like this.... seriously not sure why I haven't done so already
dude i gotta say... ur just a monster! all ur jams keep wowing me! got ur jams on repet in my bedroom all day while working! keep it up cause dang its just incredibly nice! thx mate

sounds huge! eurorack is intimidating to me -- and I don't want to fall down that money pit / rabbit hole because guitar fx pedals are enough -- but this was epic
Your music is so beautiful. I would love to jam sometime. If you ever come to Austin TX US, let me know. I hadn’t seen your face till the gear recommendation video and then I was like, dang, his face is very kind and beautiful like his music! 😆
Jay, love your stuff. It would be cool if you could talk thru your process, also would be cool to learn about your music background. Maybe a talking video sometime or have someone interview you? Thanks for the music.
I talked through my entire process of this one on Patreon, starting with connectivity, then sound design, and even captured the composition process. The interview idea is really kind, and I might do that one day, but also a bit mortifying, hah. And thanks so much for the kind words!
Amazing - I've wanted a ndlr since the moment I saw one but it just wouldn't work in my setup - in another life I'd have built a little synth setup around one. One day maybe.
awesome work again. could you consider doing a tutorial on how you set up/use the NDLR? How did you connect 4 synths, I believe there are only 2 midi outs? and do you ever use the (new) chord sequence function?
For this track, I captured the entire process for Patreon, starting from connectivity, to sound design, to composition. I never sequence the chords, though I should try it one of these days.
It starts from a preset motif, but you can change the range, starting note, playback direction/pattern, speed, etc. so it can end up pretty different from wherever it started. And thanks!
I love your jams. Always interesting. I am a bit curious about the NDLR. Is there any way of saving the midi from the NDLR when doing an improvised jam? I mean to capture ideas for further tweaking? I am looking to build a DAW-less rig and is considering having the NDLR as one of the brains (the other will likely be a groove box like Blackbox, Deluge or Circuit Tracks).
The motifs and pad/drone parameters can be saved, and then the MIDI can be recalled whenever you play the respective chord. I've never captured MIDI from the NDLR so I'm not sure if it can be done. And thanks!
Это нечто.Создал плейлист с названием нечто и добавил его туда.Благодарю 👍👍👍❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Your jams always have a hint of sadness to them. I love it.
nah... melancholy, yeah but sadness nah.
@@MrDschiesus agreed, I was going to make the same comment, Melancholy or somber deffinitly feels more fitting, adore it for sure either way
So pretty it hurts a little bit

Keep that 3 flat, baby 😎
Not sure how many times I've listened to this track since discovering it a few days ago... bought the album. Thank you!
I keep coming back and put it on repeat. ❤
These jams are so well done dude. And that Deckard’s Dream is unreal.
1 year and I keep coming back to this amazing track.
one of the most beautiful jam I’ve heard

It's like a soundtrack to all of the Syd Mead and John Berkey paintings I loved. Beautiful track.

this one evokes a lot of emotion in me.
really epic... thx for this beautifull moment
Loved it! You’ve got a big fan here Jay!
It’s realy beautiful thank you very much
DD is really emotional!
thanks a ton Jay.. gret to see how the mind works and how the rack / system is setup and influencing each part.
Watch once to read captions
Watch the second time with my eyes closed to just enjoy your music
... and third and fourth times etc. 😉
Sounds like a beautifully and epically staged death of a drone swarm. I heard it eyes closed and it was amazing! Wonderful work dude!
Love your work man! Cheers!
Beautiful. You love putting those envelope attacks to work 😍
cascading and flowing... absolutely beautiful
It's nice being taken on a walk through a set up like this from someone offering quiet, confident clarity.
Wonderful, relaxing yet still with enough movement to sustain interest for the full 7 minutes. Love that Deckards Dream pad sound!
This was wonderful. Thank you so much!
All the gear and all of the ideas.
Absolutely beautiful arrangement and sound design, love it
Expensive pads (DD)! Liked the Perfourmer. 😎👍🏼
There’s something unique happening every time you use the ndlr and deckards together
Thank you so much for talking us through the changes! Can’t tell you enough how good this is!
That Decard has the cleanest sound on this side of this galaxie-please be my mentor, mentor ,-
Stunning thickness of sound in that mix and nothing clashing. Lovely work.
For me, one of your best works. Wonderful piece. Thanks.
If it's got the NDLR and Perfourmer and Jay Hoskins I have to hear it.
This brings me such calm, thank you so much!
Some very nice kit, and some very nice sounds coming from it. I loved the ending and the sound breaking up. Found this very relaxing to watch.
MAN these just keep getting better
Just fantastic! 👍
I don’t know how you do it Jay, but everyone will say unequivocally that your music really blows mind away! 🙆♂️👈 ♥ ️

Wow !
You should honestly release some of your TH-cam experiments as an album too. The vast majority of them are fantastic.
Hey thanks! This one's actually on an album, if you'd like to pick it up: jayhosking.bandcamp.com/album/desiderium-synthetica-ambient-works
Ngl, you would be an amazing composer for Minecraft.
I like the Typhon sequence; nice use of effects. The rest I could sell and get a used Toyota Camry with. Lovely tune nonetheless.

@@PeterGaudiano Yes, though there are only three slots, I think.
Better than Zimmers score for 2049...
Is the MIDI thru getting the MIDI info from NDLR to all of its destinations?
Yes, exactly.
Love it mate! What key/progression are you using on the NDLR so I can recreate it on mine?
Honestly, I can't remember. D or D# major, maybe? And thanks!
