These are one of my favorite bars as well. I have a friend who does security with his crown vic and has one of these in amber, his amp after several years had shorted out and luckily I had a replacement. He is thinking to upgrade later so maybe I will get the opportunity to add his to my collection or clean it up and list it.
@@rjracing38 awesome! If i ever get the chance of owning my own crown vic (i live in germany so i could run full p71 package luckly) i would definatly get one from CHP with Vector and Signalmaster. Will probably cost a Fortune at that point but well.
@@nathanaelgodson3994 That would be awesome. I was lucky and was able to retrieve and acquire my Vector and my Vision lightbar via old retired CHP vehicles. I do like my Vision a bit more as it provides a ton more customization pattern wise but of course, I'm still trying to acquire the CHP new style lightbars, their Whelen linear bars that I believe are WeCan models.
@@nathanaelgodson3994 the vector and vision controllers are very similar, the main difference you will see on the face is the vector will have in the top center, the indicator lights for just the traffic advisor while the vision bar will have a similar setup but will also have the indicators for each pod showcasing each individual pods activation and the traffic advisor.
Man those lights are so beautiful they're so captivating and they should never went away from using those lights have style. ( Those lights truly defined the 80s and the meaning of public service in the 80s)
These patterns are so much better for public safety than alot of the newer led stuff. It seems to be telling traffic more effectively what the officer wants them to do instead of just random flashing lights. Its a shame departments arent really interested in bars like these anymore I'm sure modern tech could add onto this and make it even better if there was a market for it. I know the vision slr is around but barely used.
Blaine Bugaski, yup, on most of the models that I've rebuilt, they had the rear flashers on the outer pods as well as additional flasher/takedowns built into the center pod so you could have your takedown lights rotate and also another set of takedowns in your center pod. Bunch of tricks on these bars.
I believe the regular Vectors only had 5 rotators, right? The other pods had front, rear, and side facing stationary light. No room in those pods for anything else.
The nice part is, if you manage to locate one of these, you can get replacement light housings for the bar or inserts so you can have amber all the way around with whites facing forward.
James Daugherty, this particular model is in fact a smart Vector being that there are only has the two smart pods which are displayed as my take-down lights. The rest of the pods just have rotators in this video but I do have another video showcasing the Vision model which is what you are thinking of.
This is my Favourit Lightbar of all times. This beauty ontop a nice Crown vic is my dream. Would love to own one

@@rjracing38 What type of controller do you use for your Vector and your Vision?

love the white light wobble
Dam that’s hard 💯💯
Thank you! Cheers!
very nice lightbar!
The PA State Police used to have those.
WHERE can I buy one like this?????
More than likely, somewhere on the internet like eBay, possibly Craigslist or a couple websites that are similar with selling lightbars.
They aren’t cheap. I saw one go for 100 bucks without a directional bar, and a control box.
A good one goes for 300.
Lmao I don’t even see light bars on eBay anymore….
I did not know that rear flashers and rotators would fit in the same pot, such as which both of the red outside pods here.

What controller do you use?
IXI NITRO IXI, I used a smartsiren 2000sm series control unit.
What is the model nr. of this light bar ?
This model here is the Federal Signal Smart Vector bar.
Can you teach me how to hook it my vector like urs. What do i need.
What all do you have? Do you have just a lightbar and nothing else or do you have controls and such?
Um......this is a Smart Vector, however it has some added features that are >>COOL
Yup, that is the correct name, hence the correct title.
I want this light bar with amber and red white and blue for my ssb cbus
It would look good for sure
I want one in amber with the 2 front whites

Last year I found a few but I could never locate the amber lenses. Last week I finally found a source in Los Angeles.
@@xmo552 Awesome, I had the same issues a few years ago and was able to find a source in Oregon that was able to order them for me.
This is actually a vision cause notice that there all smart pods and on the vector there are only 2 smart pods
