Q8, Your PASSION and DEVOTION to flight simming never stops to amaze me. The time you spend researching to help improve the overall experience of many flight simmers is PRICELESS. We need more people with such great and passionate heart to make this a better world. Eternally grateful.
Dear Friend, What can I say more than Thank you for your tireless efforts being so extremely productive with informative, useful, professional, friendly and honest material. It is a privilege for us to have you as such a generous source of information. Your contribution to the community cannot be appreciated enough!!
@Q8Pilot I second this! You are a go-to source for many many enthusiasts! Your knowledge of all the different aircraft and add-ons is remarkable. You obviously are very passionate about our hobby, and we all sincerely appreciate YOU. Blessings to you and your loved ones! ♥I'd love to buy you an ice cream sometime. Perhaps we'll bump into each other at the next expo if you're going to be there this year.
I have a 4090 24 gb , i9-14900kf and found out that o would get 90 fpm leaving everything in default. When I tried this settings it would go no more than 23 and after a few minutes the vram would run out of capacity. Why ?
Great video, as usual. Very informative. A couple things to consider..."Power Management Mode" should be set to "Normal." Setting it to "Prefer Maximum Performance" is essentially telling your graphics card to remain at max power no matter what, instead of letting it decide when to ramp up or take a break, at least, that's how it was explained to me. While you're in X-Plane's settings text file adjusting the shadow numbers, just below those are the presets for anti-ailiasing. By editing one digit there, you can stack FXAA on top of MSAA, there's a forum thread on the Org about it. However, I did just read that this will be an option when 12.1.0 comes out. Also, with the "Shadow hack" you can lower the shadow setting a notch or two without losing much visual fidelity. Lastly, Q8 has a video on how to enable Image Sharpening in the Nvidia driver, which I would recomend doing. You'll have to do this each time Nvidia updates their drivers, but you can make a registry file that you double click to enable it instead of digging through registry. Google is a good place to learn how to do that.
Perfer Max Performance is the way to go in XP12 and MSFS. For other games, you might be right. On the last paragraph. I am Q8 =) I am glad you have found my video useful!
@t Yeah, I knew that, was just mentioning it in case someone new to your channel came along. I prefer to err on the side of caution when it comes to my video card, no need to have it going full bore at 35,000 feet. It's also the reason I have X-Plane limited to 40 fps.
Thank you Q8 that was very helpful, I would advise anyone who purchased the Xplane 10 Boeing 777 to make sure they buy and install the Boeing 777 professional before the extension pack for XP11 and XP12.
2:32 *NO!* "Variable refresh rate“ was the one and only setting causing really bad in-game stuttering which basically came with no warning beforehand. If you are experiencing something similar, try turning it off. I realised it was a windows setting problem since every time I ran a second application in the foreground suddenly x-plane became all buttery smooth which made 0 sense to me.
If you’re still having stutters after all of these changes, I recommend disabling the Xbox Game Bar from the windows settings. I have come back after a while to say, when using Gsync, make sure the refresh rate is on Highest Available, than go into X-Plane 12s monitor configuration settings on the graphics page and set the resolution to Custom
I just bought xplane 12! I have been simming for about 10 years and I can say that the feel of the airplane in xplane is really a unique experience. The only problem I have at the moment with xplane 12 is even with max settings I get blurry textures I don't understand why. I also don't like how I can't change mouse bindings because every time I miss a scroll spot my camera zooms in.. I would love to click and scroll to zoom instead of just scrolling.

On all single engine prop aircraft, the prop wash causes the plane to go to the left. To fix it just make sure to have one of your axis set to "Yaw" and give it some right force
Are u still using that driver? Im having bottleneck issues but I also use msfs2020 and I dont have any performance issues on that one? No idea what to do, in xp my fps will drop to 10-12 fps then back up to 50 like every minute or two

I have watched all your videos and been trying to tune the sim to it´s best performance my Rtx 3080 Ti can handle. , you have so many good tips on that, but I must ask if you also tuned in max performance with the Overclock settings as well? I’m getting great fps, above 30fps all the time pretty much. But for some reason I get a few spikes where my cpu usage jumps all the way to 100% for about 10-15 seconds and my fps drops to around 17-20. I have an i9-10900k but I’m using x-Europe. Is it all the autogen causing that?
