After watching this video, I purchased it and all I can say is wow. I have xplane 12 and I went and loaded up KLAX airport where I was averaging around 27 fps with settings on high but not maxed out. With this program running I now get 55 to 60 fps average at KLAX with settings on high ( I have a 60hz monitor so I won't go above 60 fps). Thanks I tried this but the extra fps it made didn't really help with smoothness for me. There was still a lot of stutters, but just smoothed out inbetween them. Not any where near as good as a solid vsync lock though. Had to refund in the end.
That's fair. Yes this won't fix stutters. As I said in the video you need a decent stable fps with minimal stutters for this to work well. Also a good way to fix stutters is to upgrade RAM. I had lots of stutters with 16gb of ram which all went away with 32gb

The frame generation works but a bit skeptical on this. You mentioned that in the sim, its framerate is 30 but the output on the display is 60. My question is will this counteract the above 20 fps rule on Vatsim?
Vatsim will still detect the old framerate but as long as you have more than 20 native frames you won't get disconnected. I recommend having at least 30 native frames anyway so the frame gen works the best :)

@@DrishalMAC2 i figured out what causes the fps lock to 22, i always fly on vatsim, and i try deactivate the contrails and it works!! my fps is stable again.
its nice, but at night there is some issue with the rendering of the stars. When LS is enabled the stars are not still white points in the sky but dancing around like atoms when the plane is yawing or rolling @DrishalMAC2 did you test it at night and have the same issues?
I can't say I have noticed this at night. Which sim are you using? I know that sometimes ground lights flicker because of this but the higher your base fps the less flickering you should get.
Ah I see. Is that 30fps due to your fps being capped at that? Either way you can try to increase your fps and see if it makes a difference :) I will check mine at night again
Have you tried changing the same parameters in the nvidia control panel? All the options you are showing are in the control panel. You can create a profile for every game in it and you don't need any 3rd party application for it.
Are you talking about the options in Lossless scaling? Those options don't change X-Plane's settings they change the Frame Generation settings. Without Lossless Scaling this frame generation would not be possible :) Definitely always worth tweaking the Nvidia control panel settings as you can get quite a nice performance improvement improvement.
The options have the same names but control different things. The options on the nvidia control panel will control those options for X-Plane 12, but the options in the lossless scaling app control the options for lossless scaling
I think you miss understand what exactly lossless scaling does. When you activate it, lossless scaling provides frame generation which makes your sim look double or triple your native fps. This is not something you can do with the nvidia control panel.
Ok try these: - Make sure you don't have any overlay on like steam, discord or nvidia - try with v-sync on and off in the lossless scaling settings - try changing the scaling mode from aspect ratio to full screen If none of these work then let me know
@@DrishalMAC2 What do you mean by superposition, if I open lossless scaling it automatically opens steam, I tried v sync On and OFF and it doesn't solve
@@DrishalMAC2 Ah i guess must be that, not sure where to see that but must be that, its one of those curve monitors from samsung 27", so is lossless really working for me? or no point? thanks agains mate!
You can check the refresh rate of the monitor in your windows display settings :) lossless scaling is really useful if you can't achieve an fps which is close to your monitor refresh rate, like if you are on 30 fps with a 60hz refresh rate. I have a 144hz monitor so I can jump from 60 to 120 which is really super smooth :) hope this helps.
@@DrishalMAC2 Yup just went online to look for the specs of the monitor this sucks haha its only 60, for some reason the options gives me 75 oh well, so no point running lossles right? or do i get any benefit?
A shame Laminar is unwilling or unable to rpovide modern framegen methods. The "Next Generation" of flightsim is still bound to an outdated FSR1 which is horrible and none of modern Upscaling/framegen stuff is implemented. Nor do they plan to do so at the moment.

@@DrishalMAC2 Thanks!!
@@DrishalMAC2 i figured out what causes the fps lock to 22, i always fly on vatsim, and i try deactivate the contrails and it works!! my fps is stable again.
@omac1179 ah fantastic! Yes I've heard contrails causes lots of issues :)
any alternatives for mac?
Unfortunately nothing that I know of.
anything like this for the Mac platform? (I can hear your laughter)
Unfortunately not, that I know of. A shame really, hopefully someone make something similar for it :)
its nice, but at night there is some issue with the rendering of the stars.
@@DrishalMAC2 I use Xplane 12 an my base FPS are 30 bc the refresh rate of my display is 60. maybe I should increse the base rate.
Ah I see. Is that 30fps due to your fps being capped at that? Either way you can try to increase your fps and see if it makes a difference :) I will check mine at night again
@@DrishalMAC2 unfortunately, playing with the FPS does not solve this matter.
Ok, let me do some testing and get back to you.
Without Lossless Scaling this frame generation would not be possible :)
Definitely always worth tweaking the Nvidia control panel settings as you can get quite a nice performance improvement improvement.
@@DrishalMAC2 Yes i'm talking about the options in Lossless scaling. Those are the same in the nvidia control panel.
The options have the same names but control different things. The options on the nvidia control panel will control those options for X-Plane 12, but the options in the lossless scaling app control the options for lossless scaling
@@DrishalMAC2 use what you want but lossless scaling is doing the same as you would changing those options in the nvidia control panel.
I think you miss understand what exactly lossless scaling does. When you activate it, lossless scaling provides frame generation which makes your sim look double or triple your native fps. This is not something you can do with the nvidia control panel.
Does this work for VR via Virtual Desktop and VDXR?
I'm not sure for vr and virtual desktop as I haven't tried it. And I'm not sure what VDXR is :)
It doesn't work, when I run the program the game screen is completely black and the PC slows down, I set the configuration as you explain
Ok try these:
- Make sure you don't have any overlay on like steam, discord or nvidia
- try with v-sync on and off in the lossless scaling settings
- try changing the scaling mode from aspect ratio to full screen
If none of these work then let me know
@@DrishalMAC2 What do you mean by superposition, if I open lossless scaling it automatically opens steam, I tried v sync On and OFF and it doesn't solve
By overlay I mean like steam fps counter or something like that. Its OK to have steam on in the background
@@DrishalMAC2 No, I don't have any of that, the black screen continues
And you tried changing the scaling mode right?
Im breaking my head here, dunno why it gives me all the time 60/60 any setting im doing wrong? shouldn't be like 60/120? cheers
What refresh rate is your monitor? If you have 60hz monitor then it will automatically cap the frame gen frames at that refresh rate.
Yeah no point really :) unless you upgrade your monitor. Lucky to have a already capable system :)
Does your cursor lag and blink when using it?
It lags a little bit but for me it's not bad. It doesn't blink though
when did you find this out/ have you been doing this in streams?
I just found this out today so made a video quickly
A shame Laminar is unwilling or unable to rpovide modern framegen methods. The "Next Generation" of flightsim is still bound to an outdated FSR1 which is horrible and none of modern Upscaling/framegen stuff is implemented. Nor do they plan to do so at the moment.
Actually they do plan to bring Frame Generation to X-Plane 12 and they are currently working towards it. I don't know how long it will take however.
What u use to make xplane look like that, mine is super default
In terms of graphics my XP is pretty much default other than for Ortho4XP, Simheaven and Global forests. The lighting and everything else is default. I'm also using TaiModels EGLL and Orbx True Earth GB XP12 :)

Have you tried the installing lossless scaling?
@@DrishalMAC2 i managed to get it to work but it still doesnt have great performance i only get around 18 fps. Still i think it is descent because without it i get around 5-7 fps. there a way to get even more fps through lossless scaling?
@REX-uf7rm no that's way too low native fps to use lossless scaling. You need at least 20 -30 fos normally before lossless scaling will work really well. What are you pc specs and graphic settings?
@@DrishalMAC2 graphics card rtx 3050 ti i5-11300H and 8 gb RAM and game setting: texture quality high ambient occlusiion high rendering resolution off antia aliasing FXAA antisotropic filtering 4x cloud quality medium shadow quality medium rendering distance high world object density high vegetation density high
Ok you definitely need to run those settings down. Probably to low or minimum otherwise you'll struggle for fps

OBS. I will have a video on how to record this coming out shortly :)
@@DrishalMAC2 Thank you! I was trying to showcase this trick on tiktok but I couldn’t find out how to record it. Your tutorials are the best 🤝
No worries :) thanks a lot!
this is a visual effect, not fps generator, i still have less than 20 fps in game but with this app i get 60, i know because i m being disconnected from vatsim due to bad fps
This is because vatsim detects native fps not frame generation fps. This is still frame generation
Is this application suitable for rtx 4xxx cards?
Yes :)
hi, but if I install Lossless scaling in another Steam account where there is no xplane does it still work? Because in the steam account where I have xp12 I can't buy anything, so I made another one
Yes it will still work. I use lossless scaling on my XP which isn't the steam version and it still works :) just make sure your steam account is set to your X-Plane one when loading X-Plane and then load lossless scaling using the shortcut created rather than inside steam

Hi, does anyone know if there is Mac support?
No unfortunately not. This is windows only.
how does this work with vatsim? does vatsim follow the ACTUAL fps or the one generated by lossless scaling? since the minimum fps for vatsim in xplane is 20fps
Unfortunately vatsim will still detect the actual FPS rather than the Frame Gen fps. This is really more of a visual fps increase
@@DrishalMAC2 ah okay i understand, guess i will have to wait for improvements by laminar themselves, or until i buy a new pc lol
Haha yep. Hopefully the Laminar performance improvements come soon :)
Does this have any effect on cpu/gpu temps
I've not noticed any increased temps myself. As long as you have decent cooling you should be good :)
