I bought one. Out of the box the action was super high and unplayable, and the bridge was misaligned so the strings weren’t lined up straight with the fretboard. They send the guitar with a bone bridge saddle cut similar to a nut with string slots, so I recut the bridge saddle so the strings are centered and spaced correctly on the fretboard. The bridge should be removed and repositioned but I thought I could fix it without doing that. I creating new string slots by moving them all 3/64” on the bridge saddle then I filed the nut strings slots deeper, and took most of the relief out of the neck and lowered the action down to 5/64th at the 12th fret. It plays fine now. For the most part I like the guitar. I’m a pilot and having a guitar in my hotel is huge. If you can’t do your own luthier work I’m not sure I could recommend it. Maybe I just got a lemon but I doubt it.

It's a good investment if you want/need to practice quietly so your roommates/family can't hear you, IF you can afford it. If you're someone who buys guitars all the time, go ahead, but if you already have an acoustic guitar and can't really afford more... pass.
OR, if you want something easy to pick up and dick around on. it feels so nice in the hands and just kinda begs to be picked up. i found myself grabbing it over other guitars not infrequently. fun to play.
I always liked Donner's pedals, they're cheap and decent. Figured the guitar might be decent, but now I realize they spent all their money on sponsored TH-cam videos and none on building a usable instrument. It's an okay makeshift sledgehammer though.
Not really fair. This sounds like an old-fashioned shallow-bodied steel string with a piezo pickup - like the old Ovations, at least the cheaper ones. They were a solution to the need to get high volume without feedback, but they never sounded like the real thing, and this doesn't either. But it's not intended to compete with a real acoustic guitar for tone. For its intended purpose, as a playable travel and practice guitar that breaks down into a small package, it looks fine.
Yeah, I agree, but it would still be interesting to hear the exact differences. I’d like to see if it could potentially be used as an acoustic replace in a live setting.

I just wish my Chinese hofner shorty didn't have such crap machining on the bridge and tuning machines. If they had made both of those parts properly, it would be a brilliant guitar

It's more or less something like the strange and rare Sardonyx 800 D II that John Lennon used on his double fantasy album. I don't much like that guitar either, but again I would keep it if someone gave me it as a present.
actually it's not. your mileage may vary, of course. but it holds tune well, and it's a great thing to quick grab and play. and a fantastic travel guitar. it looks more fiddly in demos.
