    A couple of scenarios....What does it sound like if you replace the acoustic strings with electric guitar strings? ....and recommendation for a modification to the guitar....design a head that will be easier to use a tuner. Current design makes it difficult to attach a tuner. I had a hard time deciding where to place the tuner...unlike a guitar with a regular head.

    Its subtle but its there. Cleaner.
    I know this is not really in the subject. Thought might be helpful for those changing string for buzzing near the 12th fret.
    I was replacing B strings cause of dead sounding and buzzing. Then it dawned on me to get a fret rocker. Then came the support and a small mallet. Sure enough. Around the 12th fret a few proud ones. Tap Tap Tap. No more buzzing and back to clean. a few thousand hours of practice and weather changes worked up the frets. That lower neck support is VERY important and just tap do not Strike hard. It is just soft metal into wood. We are not chiseling off marble.

    I am having some issue restringing this guitar. I am using the recommended acoustic strings. THe low E tunes up qick and only "one turn or wrap around"" on tuning peg leaving too much excess string leaving me to worry about slippage. Can't seem to get the high E string on and in tune yet as I have broken two strings trying to follow advice on video to hacve at least a few wraps on peg. Hmmmm.... any tips?

    • @guitar-academy
      @guitar-academy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To get a couple of turns around the post just put the sting in place and then push it back through the post by about an inch. With the sting you've fitted that only has a partial turn just loosen it, push about an inch of string back through the post and tighten it up again. OR you can just leave the sting but don't cut all the extra string off, so you have enough to allow for slip. The string will settle in a few days.

    • @tiffanythetokyotexan
      @tiffanythetokyotexan 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am not too sure about this one. These tuning pegs just won't stay. Way too much slippage. ..and too soon. After getting in tune...a few second later we are slipped out again. Maybe I received a defective unit?@@guitar-academy

      @@tiffanythetokyotexan One tuner could be faulty but it is very unlikely multiple tuners are faulty. If it held tuning before you restrung it, then it's obviously something to do with the restring. I would recommend finding someone who knows about guitars and letting them have a look at it.

    wondering how to string like that came from factory where there is no sprout of string. they cut it totally away, changing myself will leave the sprout of strings that would poke the arms as tuning pegs are right underneath the arm.

    • @guitar-academy
      @guitar-academy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they do cut the strings close. I would do it in 2 stages, leave a little bit of string first in case the it slip but then revisit the string and cut it again using some small cutters that can get into the spaces. 😊😃

    • @guitar-academy
      @guitar-academy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question. It would work, the piezo would pickup the sound. But I wouldn't recommend it because it's set up for steel strings unless you are OK to set the guitar up for the nylon strings. 🤔

      @thomasrio 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      its same question with me. i have plan to buy this guitar for my daugther as she prefer the classic guitar string (nylon). but if i see this video (and other videos), all of the strings used are electric guitar strings with the ring on the edge.

    • @guitar-academy
      @guitar-academy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thomasrioSorry, no they aren't electric guitar stings, they are steel acoustic guitar stings (though they are similar). If your daughter is use to playing on nylon strings and prefers them then honestly, this isn't the guitar for her. Maybe they'll make a nylon stung version in the future, but for now they only make the steel strung version.

    • @thomasrio
      @thomasrio 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@guitar-academy hello thanks for answering. well my concern point is also about the neck size. if someone used to play classic guitar (CG type) with big neck size, i think this guitar fit that? since the FG type (folk guitar/ electric guitar) neck is smaller.
      so the concern points will be:
      my daugther will has to adapt with acoustic steel strings but familiar with the neck.

    • @guitar-academy
      @guitar-academy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thomasrio Obviously a lot depends on her age and ability. But if she's serious about becoming proficient on guitar or even wants to become professional in the future, she needs to learn to adapt to different guitars. 🤔 Obviously you can ignore this if she is really young or just starting out on the guitar.

    The bottom E string measurement in Metric is not 0.19 as that would mean its thicker than the top E

    • @guitar-academy
      @guitar-academy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The bottom E is thicker than the top E.
      When talking about musical instruments bottom and top refer to pitch and not location. So the bottom 'E' string is the thick string with the lowest pitch and the top 'E' is the thinnest string with the highest pitch.

      Do you not like to push the ends of the strings down into the vertical tunnels that are in the tuners? When I was changing my strings, I had to pull pretty hard to remove the strings from the tunnels. There was almost an inch of string in the tunnels. When I installed the new ones, I used the tunnels to hold the string ends.
