Hey, I've got the same problem with the Rox risers (on 890 adventure). It's not only is it stressing the clutch cable but the switch - gear harness too. I'm gonna take it to my mechanic for ideas on how to fix this. Why don't you de-cat the exhaust? RE...heat rising issue? Good informative vid. Thanks
Hey prat, Nice to hear from you. Thanks for the compliment. Removing the catalytic converter can easily be completed. I'm sure by now that somewhere in the world there's a drop in bypass. However, the exhaust would still pass under the shock unless you went completely custom on the exhaust. Next issue to contemplate is the legality of the bypass. Some places may require the cat with penalties imposed for removal. Another valid issue is the environmental impact of removal. For those that don't know, the cat is intended to burn unburnt fuel from the exhaust that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere. And finally, this one is murky for me because I don't know the definitive answer to, would removing the cat cause issues with the mapping. For those that might not understand, mapping is the computer code that regulates engine function. For the above mentioned reasons, I chose to just put the heat shield on. It is a relative easy installation and cheaper than the other options. Plus you remain legal and environmentally sound. If I was racing though ?-----------Ha. Take care, Mike
