- This wood toy spin top will stay right where you spin it. Learn to make one in this DIY, Woodpops tutorial. Watch the whole video and see how you can get a free Template so you can make your own catch spin top.
If you are tied to a desk, talk on the phone or are stressed out this spin top is for you. The Executive Catch Top is designed to relieve stress by spinning a top that will stay in one place. You won't have to chase it around your office. I use mine while watching TV. Takes a little skill, but you will catch on.

If you are wondering what's up? I have a challenge taking place. Ten wood turners will get a free template for the catch top. They will use it to make a top within 10 day of receiving the template in the mail. They will come back here to the comments after making their catch top and give us their honest review of how it helps make a catch. That's it. No Catches. heeheeeheee My bad.

My template arrived today, have to get a couple of other jobs to get off the lathe, then i 'm looking forward to using it, going to be so much better than trying to measure. AND its a good looking gauge, THANKS, Jerry

@@rogerdalescott, Found some shop time, made 2 catch tops, first one walnut, cut the bell or skirt to short so had to glue on a piece of maple, to extend it down . So make a tower of walnut and maple. to match. Almost wore out the switch on the lathe, going back and forth checking with template and reviewing videos # 1 and 2. Top #2 made out of madrone, with a spalted maple tower. Went much faster as i was more familiar with the turning order, and did not have to consult the videos.Both tops weighed on my scales at 21 grams. Second top was spot on with the template.
My suggestions ,DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE UNTIL YOU HAVE A TEMPLATE, its sooooo much easier than measuring all the time.Please subscribe to Rogers channel, lets get him his 1000 subs.Order the template and go to the shop and gather your materials, when you have the template, you will be ready to make some fun catch tops. I will be making more for my kids and grand kids as Christmas gifts.
