  • Greyhound debuted a new fleet of buses with a new look and experience in Chicago.
    The iconic dog gets a makeover inspired by Greyhound's rich design history, accompanied by an updated blue and silver color palette and new Greyhound script logo.
    Inside the bus, riders will experience new amenities and features that allow them to:
    • Stay connected with free Wi-Fi
    • Stretch out with additional leg room
    • Plug in and stay charged with power outlets
    • Feel secure and comfortable with three-point, adjustable seat belts
    New buses are currently serving the Midwest routes with a gradual roll out across North America to replace the fleet entirely.

    Where was this taken in another country or another planet. A polite greyhound bus driver shaking hands with the passenger. Thanks for the laugh. Why don't they show a real bus driver with real passengers.

      Time to do a repeat video to show just how messed up the buses are today. You and me both know greyhounds maintenance sucks just as much as there drivers do. They are not polite or courtesy to there passengers and they rarely ever do anything for them.

    I've been on a bus like this one in Canada for a 82 hour ride in Canada personally I think the staff of greyhound generally try there best I usually find that the four front row seats are usually filled with the bus drivers stuff or a passengers stuff but usually the front seats nearest to the front are best choice for safety and comfort always bring1 a pillow and blanket 2 33decibel ear plugs or music to listen to with ear plugs 3 water bottle 4 non smelly healthy snacks for when you wake up hungry 5 some form of entertainment like a 3DS or book or phone with plug in and games 6 always make sure your wearing deodorant/antiperspirant with a fresh hot shower that day nobody wants to smell a dirty beggar on the bus with clean comfy clothes 7 also pack wet wipes as the buses usually don't have a washing sink to wash your hand or try to use the washrooms at coffee restroom stops because all they supply is antibacterial hand sanitizer I hope these tips help when you next travel greyhound and makes your experience more comforting

    • @iMatti00
      @iMatti00 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to ask, are you joking? Or did you have a brain glitch? I’ve been there too, I’ve said stuff and then realized it didn’t make sense. Sometimes we all do that. That’s what I’m wondering because when you wrote this comment the video was eight years old. So did you look at the video saying that it was eight years old, then look at the buses being new in the video, and thinking they still look brand new? When obviously The bus is still look brand new because the video was taken eight years before you wrote this comment so the video is not going to change. It’s kind of like looking back at a videotape of your 10th birthday and someone still thinking that you look the same because the video shows you looking that way. Does that make sense?

    Depends on how many lay overs you have and where they are at/what time of day they are. Plan on being tired when you are done traveling, watch your stuff at all times. anything of value keep on you, in a pocket, bag in lap.. ect. Other than that, these newer buses look a lot nicer than the ones I rode on 7+ years ago..

    • @Park_Place
      @Park_Place 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably safety regulations and competition. Let's look at the first. In, let's say, Mexico, you have a massive array of buses like the Volvo 9700 Luxury, Grand L, and 9800, Irizar PB & i6/i8, as well as the MAN Ayats Eclipse. All of these are really really comfy and spacious, but they might not meet DOT standards in the U.S. For example, all of these models have a little seat attached in the front for an extra driver. While this has been seen in the past, it's mostly obsolete here because of the "Yellow Line" on practically every bus, not just coaches. So, in order to get new buses, it's easier and cheaper to buy already-compliant buses like MCI or VanHool that aren't comfy than to custom-build buses to be DOT-compliant in another country and have them shipped across international borders. Another factor is competition. Everyone takes planes now, and even cars bite into Greyhound's share of passengers. They can't get enough demand to bother renovating their fleet, so they use old, uncomfortable ones for whatever passengers they have left.

    @MrWill1985 Thanks for this question, MrWill1985. It’s important for us to select the very best models available based on quality, safety, price, function and several other factors. We’ve found that having the freedom to work with different companies gives us the best coaches in the market, and just like with cars, the models and features of buses change constantly.

  • @doggsho

    just to say, I am actually a greyhound motor coach operator and yeah i agree that alot of drivers can be assholes but I can say this, passengers are the main reason behind the drivers attitudes, fortunately, i am the type of driver who likes to make his passengers feel comfortable when traveling with me and answer as many questions as I can not to mention last night when traveling to my hometown we were caught in a traffic jam that lasted over an hour so yeah of course the passengers will .....

    I took the bus from San Diego to Las Vegas, changed buses in San Bernadino to greyhound, I just wanted to ride the bus to see the countryside and that was a nice ride. Wow, if ya wanna ride in a bus with no leg room, take the bus I was on. I hope other Greyhound buses ars different than that bus. What I did like was the convenience at the stations, however if I do take the bus again, I would have to see if there was any legroom before I boarded, because I could hardly walk when we reached Las Vegas, I was the last passenger to get off the bus. I am an older retired person.

    Also I think the new 2011 Prevost X345s have arrived. I spotted 86122 and 86123 in Philadelphia and possibly 86104 also in Philadelphia. They look the same on the exterior but the engine sounds more clear then on the 2009s and to my understanding the 2011s have Volvo D13 as the 2009s have Detroit Diesel Series 60 which was discontinued this model year.

    I was just on one of these. Was cool but the power outlets didn't work. Other than that, the seats were allot more comfortable and had more legroom.

    Nothing against The Dog, but bus travel in Mexico has the US beat, by far. ADO, Primera Plus and others with their 45 footers (meters) with 37 real reclining seats, 2 bathrooms
    and coffee/soda/snack galleys in the back....Most if not all buses are satellite tracked; which comes in handy when you're in the mountains in the middle of nowhere.

    @GoGreyhound I hope so. I'm planning on taking a trip back to my home town and I'll see how it goes then.

    I noticed busses are much more silent in the States than in Europe. which is good. those silent busses.

      Yeah, they changed. Lol a few years ago they were noisy but younger people expect better things so they change.

    @northshoore, because most Euro-buses (not all) will fall apart from under you if you try to push them through the rigors of an inter city-transit style of runs. Most Euro coaches are geared for long haul, with curtains, snack bars and all that "air-liner" amenity stuff.

    @TTC4300 Seatbelts are not mandatory on the bus, they are on our new buses as an additional safety feature.

    @northshoore, Yes, their are some niiieeeccceee, looking coaches out there but looks mean squat-doddley when it comes to tested, true, and tried performance.

    The actual new busses are Prevosts, but I've also seen some MCI's that might have been refurbs. I have yet to ride one, but they're beautiful! It's nice to see Greyhound trying to improve its fleet. The customer service, as always, still depends on the individual.

      This is for nostalgia reasons but, sometimes, I miss the MCI MC 12. I've rode that a few times when I was a kid.

      These are MCI D4500’s not prevost buses. Yes they have some but that’s not the one in the video.

      @@williambaker08 I think I may have seen an older D4500 near the beginning of the video. Honestly, I don't mind this video because it seems like a fanning video.

      Dream Journal Projects the headlights are wrong for the D4500’s they look like D4505’s to me!! Maybe someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

    As a kid in the mid 60's I road the 5401 Scenicruisers. I am still in love with those buses but the new colors are very nice. Is the a MCI or something different ?
