- Here's how I made a light-up Minecraft torch using perler beads, a flashlight and toothpick. The torch will light up when you push a button made of beads and looks just like the torch in game!
Hey guys! It's already October and I'm here all sick and stressed out from all the homework I have! But something that always makes me happy and relaxed is making a TH-cam video! So today's video is for Halloween, which of course is at the end of the month! I designed this torch while chatting with my mom, so we kind of created this together! I'm so happy with how it turned out and it definitely made my flashlight a lot cooler! Ironing may be difficult so remember don't iron too long or with a very high heat setting. update 07/2017: One viewer implied that I was not the first to make something like this (I never said I was the first in my video..) and directed me to videos from RattiestCargo0 who was the first person to make a torch on TH-cam. There are many other people who have made their own version of a Minecraft torch but these are my templates that I created myself and shared with all of you.

It would have been pretty damn awesome if you used glow in the dark perler beads. It would glow after you turned the flashlight off. (: I love it though!

@QDcrafts , RattiestCargo0 designed this already. He made a video showing his idea 3 years ago. Its the exact same design, with a flash light and all. Give him credit atleast.
NaughtyGumyBear I assure you that I have never heard or seen any videos made by the person you are referring to. I spent hours designing this light that was inspired by a toy plastic minecraft torch and I only referred to pictures of the in game Minecraft torch. If you know what Rattiestcargo's templates look like and compare them to mine, I doubt that it will be exactly the same because I created the perler bead templates from scratch. Please understand that I would never steal someone's bead templates because I am capable of designing them myself and I know what it's like to have templates taken so you don't need to worry about me giving credit.
QDCrafts The kid is like 10. I don't think he did a tutorial video. But the template and colors and the flash light inside are the same. In his videos he even states that he "needs to find a way to hold the flash light in place".
"Yours" just so happens to have platforms for the flash light and a button.
It's an easy TH-cam search to find his videos. It's like the third video that comes up if you search "mincraft torch beads". He has two videos showing his creation.
I don't understand how you could have not seen it. In all Honestly you just motified his creation.
The plat forms were an excellent improvement. And the button was a very nice convenient attachment for the torch. Super handy. But the torch base and flash light was already a creation.
NaughtyGumyBear I have just found the video you are referring to and although I can see the similarities, the idea is something that anyone can come up with and attempt to design. It's not a hard concept for this particular project and Minecraft is a very popular game that many people are interested in. I'm sure there are other versions of a Minecraft torch that you and I may have never seen, but I didn't see the specific videos you are talking about until now and you'll just have to take my word for it. Thank you for voicing your concern.
QDCrafts similarities??? They're the same thing. If anyone can come up with it. Why was it a big deal for you to explain how long the template took you to "design". In your description box and you even said it took hours. That doesn't sound like a simple concept to me. Minecraft is a poplular game but making a flash light torch from pealer beads is a specific idea.
First you say you created this exact template and torch. But now that there is proof you did not. All of a sudden its a "idea' anyone could have made.. What kind of explanation is that??
Fine. You probably didn't see his videos first. Will you atleast credit the kid?
You see, the idea/design of a Minecraft torch that lights up is one that people can think of easily because there is a toy that is already out there that is a Minecraft torch flashlight. However, the process of designing the templates, as in the positions that the beads need to be placed, is what is the difficult part and will differ between people because we need to visualize where the connecting parts need to be and I highly doubt his positions are the same as mine. It is a simple concept because if you search up torch flashlights, you'll see toy torches or paper craft torches that have a light up flame. There is no solid proof that the designs for the templates is the same because the videos are very blurry and I don't think anyone would be able to see where the beads are placed. I stand by the fact that my templates are completely different and the idea of making a Minecraft torch flashlight is from toy companies. Applying the use of perler beads into toys or video game designs is what I've been doing for years, so I would say that it's not hard to come up with the idea of making a perler bead torch with all those toys you see online, but actually creating and making sure it works is the difficult part that takes a long time. Coming up with ideas is the easy part, but to actually carry it out and produce something is not easy. I can see you are very pressed on this, so I can include that he was the first one to make his own version of the torch on TH-cam, but I can't say that I took the design from him or credit him in that manner because I had never seen his videos when I made my video and the templates are simply not the same. The reason why they may be similar in size and shape is because the idea/design of the torch is from Minecraft, so anyone who makes a torch will have a similar overall design, but again, the emphasis in my description is on the template designs/position of the beads that I had to think hard on, not the idea of making a light up torch. Very interesting to engage in this conversation with you as I've never had someone accuse me of this before, but I hope this clarifies your concerns. Have a nice day.
