One learning for me about the Adaptive Cruise Control is it wears the rear discs at quite a rate.

Interesting. What makes you think it is the adaptive cruise control?

@@which I had a BMW 7 with this. BMW told me the car slows itself down largely using rear discs and the rear pads wore out early due to this.

As long as you can carry dogs to drills and jigsaws and it has a sunroof and heated seats it's good enough

I thought BMW weren't offering Android Auto compatibility. Scandalous that you have to pay for using it since it's a separate system that runs off your mobile device essentially. Robbery.

      They don't

They weren't, but have now changed their mind. They didn't approve of certain things Google was doing, but these have changed, so it's being introduced across the range.

I'm taking delivery of a 3.0d X-line in Artic Grey/Ivory with various add-ons and spending 63k to do it...and even then I'm not entirely sure what features it will have, particularly the manual control of suspension to raise/lower it. I think BMW are poor at getting their staff up to speed on the technology in their cars,. And I'm going to have to buy either an Apple phone OR pay BMW for access to their 33m tracks because there's no CD player - which I personally feel is ridiculous given that we oldies have extensive CD collections and don't much like streaming - bluntly, I'm not even sure HOW to do it! Still, very excited to replace my 11 year old X5, which is nothing like as nice.

Hi Steve. Have you taken delivery yet? I’m planning on buying the same model as yours but yet to decide on a dealer and purchase method. Just like the car, too many options! Cheers, Barry

@@Reyviator Barry, yes, now four weeks old. I love the car but wish I'd realised the M-Sport has both air suspension and coil springs (I think) because I find the air suspension disconcerting at 80mph or more. It's such a great ride and VERY smooth and quiet, but sometimes it feels as if there's not enough 'feel' in the steering at that speed. STILL finding the technology challenging. Haven't bothered with streaming music (bought an ipod and bluetoothed it), probably won't bother with Office 365 as it's expensive - and in both cases I seriously resent BMW's ongoing charge to use them in the car. Haven't figured out how to save music to hard drive, nor the Park Assist Plus, but the head-up display is superb, the interior lighting beautiful, the seats comfortable (we had comfort pack), she tows our Swift Elegance 580 beautifully and the air suspension keeps her very level when doing so, the dog can jump in the boot because we lower the car...in general, she's great. Bought at Dick Lovett in Hungerford...great dealer we've used for years - ask for Steve Radway and say I sent you! £62935 was ridiculously expensive, though, but we did add lots of extras like electric towbar, comfort pack, technology pack, leather dash (if you want precise spec, say so). We also added run-flats on new rims because we love the security of knowing you're unlikely to suffer blowout when at speed and towing. Arctic Grey is stunning, so is the Ivory interior, didn't have privacy glass (we like a light interior and it doesn't seem logical!). Funding - because we expect to keep a long time, part-ex 6k, cash 16k, 40k funded straight HP with no residual. I'm in Finance anyway, so know what I need....have gone off PCPs because it seems you are simply funding the depreciation and are left with another lump to fund - and the Government's war on diesel impacts used values so equity hard to come by.
In general, we love it! And as an added bonus, my wife now drives my 530 Touring and has fallen in love with that too!

Steve Price - thanks for sharing the details! I agree there’s so much tech, and every review I watch reveals additional functions! 🤯 Re the suspension, I read there’s a selection that lowers the ride, firms the suspension into the sport mode yet leaves the drive and gearing in comfort mode? 🤔 I’ll definitely speak to Steve @ Dick Lovetts as I’m not having much interest from my local dealers. 👍🏼 I have a bunch of questions but don’t want to hog this thread, do you have a channel where I can PM you about options, dealer experience and delivery, etc. ? Thanks again. Barry.

So funny to hear Europeans call this small car a large car.
