@@turbopokey Warhammer 40k elves became such sex addics that they almost wiped themselves out, blew a massive hole in reality, and collectively gave birth to Slaanesh, the god of unending excess and pleasure all at once.
I LOVE - with all the stories about humans being portrayed or at least seen as crazy bloodthirsty savages and the rest of the universe are all somehow in some kind of utopias by comparison - when humans are somehow portrayed as space elves, rather than orcs.
@Talon1124 fair enough. On that note, I have to ask, is it weird that the Eldar still think that they are the superior beings in the galaxy despite spawning a freaking chaos god and losing EVERYTHING? Like they talk big game, but their not much of a problem compared to the rest of the galaxy.

You know, one thing that's always bugged me about elves in myth are what they actually do. No seriously, think about it for a bit. They kind of just sit there until (insert usually human or short lived race here) make some sort of problem and only then take an active role in anything. It just seems out of place considering there is a lack of much associated with them outside of nature.
It is mostly believed that extremely long lived races tend to slip into a train of thought where if something can be done tomorrow it can be done next decade, it's not so much stagnation but very slow growth to the point of being unnoticeable by short lived races, if you have all the time in the world why rush to get things done?
Fast growing, short living species has faster development of new ideas. Just imagine we lived so long that Newton would be a youngster today. Einstein would have been born hundreds of years from now.
LOL the last part of the story touches on something I like to talk about or think about. Who says are legends and fables of the gods and elves and other non-human races are just fables and stories. They could have been extraterrestrials visiting our planet.
The funny thing is, there are quite a few different stories that use this idea in part or in full as part of their premise. I wonder if this story here couldn't be a prequel chapter for a story like that.
