What's your favorite Zelda reference?
The one in Super Mario 3d world!😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉
super Mario bros. 3
In Super Mario RPG Remake 2023
Breaking the vase and collecting Rubees in Super Paper Mario.
Super mario 3D Land
I love the link power-up in Mario maker 2, they should honestly continue to use it
i think they should have other NES style video game character power-ups like the master sword. maybe a metroid-themed one, or a dk-themed one, or if you want a later addition, maybe pokemon or kirby? idk, but they just need to make more.
Fr
I like Zelda games
Me too
Hot take.
I do as well
Unpopular opinion
Same
30:10 Mario: Hey, want a lift? Link: (sleeping, music plays)
I don’t get the dream team one, like, is it meant to be the hookshot, because if it is, that’s seems like a big stretch
29:54 BRO THE EASTER EGG IS STILL THERE
I think the first few are less of references and probably more a combination of hardware restrictions (i mean they were all on the 8-bit NES) and lack of a wide range of soundfonts to use (same thing went on to be a problem for Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, many of them ended up having extremely or completely similar cries)
The Rod sound effect yes, but a flute summoning a whirlwind sounds like an intentional reference.
The flute clearly is a reference lol what??
Amazing work! 18:50 and this is my favorite! Pure fire!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love a good reference in my games! Thanks For this 😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Make sense because Shigeru Miyamoto worked on both Mario and Zelda.
But he doesn’t work on the music
😲🤯😱
He created both.
Holy, that Mario Maker level was sick
Awesome Video!!
Cool video I like your content beard bear. Congrats on 1 mil
thanks for making this! Its cool to see
Amazing.
Just… beautiful.
Same genius behind both games: Shigeru Myiamoto.
I love Koji Kondo’s music for both franchises.
Zelda games are the Best from Nintendo throughout the years!
Best video yet!!!
Cool video
I love how in the 3DS Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga it even plays the Ocarina of Time Item Get Fanfare.
Can someone please tell me the name of the music heard in that scene of Super Paper Mario where you're told to play 1 million rubees, please? I really like it. =)
I think the Birdo and Dream Team ones are a bit of a stretch, but cool video nonetheless.
Did you know that in the Mario RPG remake, after you see Link you can go to your journal and they talk about him.
Toad being relatable
Why is the 3D Land one so long stretched?
Good video also I have a question for you BeardBear are you huge fan of Nintendo?
Stupid question
Mario really just doing some of Links work cause he is always sleeping.
every time i see a mario reference in zelda games or the other way around, i keep on thinking they’re cousins
5:26 Same WarioWare:Twisted
how is the TTYD demon sealing answer incorrect?
My brother told me that mario and link work together company
You forgot a reference in SM64 DS if you get 3 loves me in a row
They should use Pokémon, Kirby, and Sonic references in Mario games too.
Nintendo fully owns Zelda. Pokemon and Kirby are owned by Nintendo AND another company, and Sonic isn't owned by Nintendo in any capacity. They would have to pay royalties to the other companies of they wanted to do that.
You know what would've been cool? If they updated Link's appearance in the Mario RPG remake to look like BotW Link. Still nice to see him napping in the inn though.
Did the 3d kand for 3ds remind anyone else of arbiters ground in Twilight princess?
Zelda is awesome
Is that a Startropics reference? 4:59
I feel like reusing a sound on the NES is less a reference and more just limitations.
0:16 You sure that isnt Falco?
I wouldn't necessarily call the first two references since it's just the reuse of sound effects (and graphics for the second). I will grant the Warp Whistle could be, though.
Love the videos man but some of these are stretches. Like whats the reference in Dream Team?
Hookshot
@Bosssnurp ohhhhh ya, forgot about that
I’d say it’s closer to the clawshot but yeah😂
i wouldn’t call the first one a reference because nintendo had a limited amount of sound effects back then
Mario stoooop! Link is tryna snooze
Saria with a goddamn +13
There are differences between a reference and a DLC...
The Mario golf "links club" doesn't reference Link. It's like "let's hit the links". It's a golf term meaning golf course
I think that having the Triforce as its logo is a reference though, right?
Can someone explain me second? If i understand right, mario is singing sound of storms with that thing like flute, and a storm takes him to warp zone. Am i right?
No not at all, the flute In mario 3 Is a reference to the flute from zelda 1 which was used to teleport randomly to different dungeons you'vd beaten much like how In mario 3 Its used to teleport to the warp zone. Song of storms wasnt a thing until ocarina of time which was way after mario 3 released
@@zanyboi969 Thanks for the answer! True, Mario 3 is older than OoT.
@@zanyboi969 Thanks for the answer!
Fun fact, Mario and Zelda are made by the same company 😎
Can You Do Zelda References and Cameos in Sonic Games (2006-2023)
1. Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)
2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008)
3. Sonic Unleashed (2008)
4. Sonic and the Black Knight (2010)
5. Sonic Lost World (2014)
6. Sonic Frontiers (2022)
@@hadi48930what are the references
11:45 where is the reference?
I think it’s supposed to be a reference to the first game when you go into a secret shop and they say this place is a secret to everybody
I wouldn't really count the first one. That can be seen as a Generic Sound Effect #?.
9:23 dude that’s not a reference, the Zelda currency is Rupees not Rubees. There’s a lot of stuff in this video that probably aren’t even references, just things characters said.
It Is a reference, just cause the names are very slightly different doesnt make It not a reference. Plus the Icon for the rubees Is shaped like a red rupee
Some are kind of a reach but I see the similarities
This makes me wonder if Hyrule and the Mushroom Kingdoom are connected somehow. Given how many instances the Zelda franchise was referenced in the Mario franchise, I don’t think that theory is too far off.
Probably not
I think if Nintendo ever wanted to explain how Mario and Link can be in the same place, they could just say Mario can get to Hyrule through a special warp pipe. Smash Bros doesn’t already work because those are just toys/action figures being played with
Damn, for all the green she wears, Saria really sucks on the Green 😂
Can someone explain the Dreamteam one?
The move is called Hook Shot.
References on SMG? Appart of the rupee
My guess on Mario Galaxy is because those enemies look similar to, and shoot rocks like octoroks?
@@BabyBatFightCluboh I was thinking deku scrubs
Yes, I think that computer in Paper Mario is right, mastersward never fulfilled its duty to seal evil for real. I'd say it's time to look for some new methods
Being caught in a bottle
The Paper Mario one is not a Zelda reference. A Sheikh is an Arab leader.
Link keeps appearing in Mario games, but Mario doesn't appear in Zelda games, pay what you owe us Link!
Off the top of my head, the Mario characters are in OoT (at Hyrule Castle) and Link’s Awakening (throughout including chain chomp to enter the third dungeon and yoshi in the crane game). Plus Talon in OoT is a reference to Mario. So they are there!
@@Jac7kmalon wears a bowser pendant too
That first one was pretty weak
Heart Beans are not a reference to Zelda games... They are just called hearts as a generic term for HP...
The last part was a reference.
“It’s a secret to everybody” is a common phrase in Zelda 1 as there are a ton of hidden Moblin NPCs across the overworld, and they all say the same thing after they help out
@@joshuamcdonald2010
Has nothing to do with my comment, but yeah cool.
@@gravityfallscanada it has everything to do with it, they said that the heart bean itself wasn't the zelda reference but rather the last part of the toads dialogue was the intended reference lmao
@@TofuEther64
I am talking about Bowser's inside Story... Thus has nothing to do with my comment.
@@gravityfallscanada And so were we??
Mario kart isn't even a mario game
