My good friend got crushed by a car he was working under. Now his spine is more metal than bone. Just because your nick name is Hillbilly doesn't mean you have to die like one.
What are you talking about, that strap can lift a tank. Not way that car is falling.
No respirators? That's insane!
I was in the body business for many years and watching the power coating without masks and Robby not always wearing masks, is future health problems.
That's what they say about coal fired power plants which I've lived around for 66 yrs.
I agree with that. Been in it for 15 years always wear ppe
Matt when he sees the video:
"You could've left those tiny dents, it will be like that or worse by this time tomorrow!" 😂
😂
I saw the dents in the last video.....I just assumed they were leaving them because it's a work truck and it's gonna get beat on 🤷🏽♂️
@@terrancegrant5573 I saw the one at the back, I didn't pay much attention to the door really.
Hillbilly's trust in that strap has me floored.
first thing i thought when i saw it
Or the hydraulic hoses on that telehandler
They call him hillbilly not professor.
He has to be lucky all the time doing that, the strap only has to fail once.
I agree. Only takes an extra 5min to find some blocks or props to make that safe.
Kevin and his guys should definitely have masks on while powder costing. The 1 man's face was covered with powder. Just looking out for there lungs. Great job on the powder coating it looks Great!
Yeah, 36:24 for example. I'm guessing it was one of those "all hands on deck" jobs, but don't they have to contend with OSHA?
Under a car hanging by a strap freaks me out 😮
And that strap is anchored by a hydraulic ram... One seal gives out and it would just drop 😟
A lot of things in this video where dangerous, powder coating with no respiratory, under a car with no safety net, osha ganna be coming around!
me too! i really hope they had a secondary support for that car.
Not near as bad as watching those guys in India working under a vehicle propped up with a 2x4.😮 (while wearing sandals)
Yea me too. At the end before he lowered the car, I saw the strap was right at the tip of the forklift 🤯. My mind was so focused on the car not to fall on him. Love you guys but please always put safety first, or second, or third whatever Matt prioritized the safety. 🤣🤣 great teamwork on Matt’s blue steel, can’t wait to see the outcome!! See you on the next one.
I was on pins and needles watching Hillbilly under that car. As always I love the body work. Good job. Love the attention to detail.
Me too.... Gents, extend your lives and do not work under suspended loads. Block it up.
I lost a friend 2 yrs ago doing exactly that. Hydrolic line let go and the forks dropped. You never think it could happen but once it does it’s to late, I can never sit and bs while having a beer with him ever again.
23:25 wish you were not under that car like that Hillbilly. Would hate for you to get hurt. Take care bro❤
I'm not even mad you missed those dents because I love watching you pull dents.
In the powder coat video section, I'm worried about the lack of PPE, it could be that it's really safe but I'd wear a respirator and eye goggles
Inhaling dust is not good for you no matter what type of dust/powder it is. The amount of blue powder on some of their faces around the eyes and nose was a really big cringe moment.
When I maintained a paint shop our insurance carrier would have cited us and raised our rates while putting us on probation and reporting us to OSHA. Then there would of course be fines and a more through review to pass.
Getting caught doing that can put you out of business.
Best!
Getting caught doing that can end your life.@@neilfromclearwaterfl81
I was thinking the same thing! Why did only one guy (under the bed) have on a respirator and glasses. The other guys were "human Blue Steels"! Not good. Will regret that decision later in life when you have no lung capacity!
Exactly, all those fine particles get inside the lungs and never come out.
Yes ,I knew I wasn't the only one thinking this... The product maker says although it is non-voc materials...they still recommend wearing 3M 😷 man oh man I thought these days were over ,where guys did this. Good job on the bumper and deck but they don't care about their own health😞
Poor Robby, you can hear the disappointment/frustration in your voice that you forgot those small dents. You did great keeping a good attitude about it though! You guys are great!
Good man. He wants to make his customer happy and make it brand new before returning to his customer. I would trust this guy to work on my truck. Thanks Robby!
I've been a paint and bodyman for 45 years. Kevin and his crew will regret not wearing respirators. I have ruined my lungs from years of bondo dust and overspray. Once gone you can't get them back.
How about the guys that are doing the powder coating with no respirators!
@@michaelleblanc3363 that's what I'm talking about.
You can't film a TH-cam video with a respirator on, and be understood I have much gratitude for their personal sacrifice.
Yes you can ,get them back you aren't smoking the right medication. I did paint and body for years, I quit because I couldn't buy Life insurance, and I managed to cough all that stuff up
just saw your comment after posting mine, i was thinking the same thing
Watching those guys powdercoat the bed without respirators makes my lungs hurt.
Holy molly,, no safe support under he car,, i personally know someone crushed when it came down. Put my tomach in knot
Hey hold my beer and watch this,,,,,,
Today I feel like the TH-cam safety police. I hope powder coat has lots of vitamins in it cus those guys ingested a lot of it
Just the type that causes lung cancer
Robby's insurance agent watching Hillbilly working under the car...hmmm "do I double or triple the policy cost?"
Or just cancel the policy outright.
I guess he's never heard of hydraulics letting go and dropping faster that you can blink. That has to be one of the most sketchy things I've seen so far lmao 🤣
No Hillbilly!!!! NO!!!
They wouldn't do either. They would keep taking the money then show this video when any claim was made so they could deny it. That way they get more money.
Not a good look. I get that stuff happens a bunch but shouldn’t be kept and published to the world.
"Ok, done!"
It's funny that Robbie is never really "done" with sanding & prepping - because his perfectionist soul can't leave things alone. 😜😁🤟
He kind of likes poking sticks at things to see if they jump, this is what im getting.
Blue Steel will be perfect until the start of the first recovery job. It’s going to be hard to watch Matt’s crew put a scratch on it!
Robby will get em out! The scratches, that is!
I'm not sure if Matt might do it on purpose (or Jeffe) but I totally can see him bumping one of the other cars or chassis around his yard just to get it out of his system. It's like ripping off the plastic screen protector off a new TV or phone. If you don't get it over with you're more liable to make an even bigger mistake.
Hillbilly: “we just finished getting it ranned” lmao 🤣
Ta quote Paul: We do it right, cause we do it twice!
22:55 is no one gonna talk about that !!
I don't think anyone has ever said that bodywork is easy.Nice work fellows.
That little girl is the the spitting image of her Mom!
Robby makes fixing dents look easy! That bed looks insane! Thanks all for sharing! Take care and have a Great Week!
Man your sure taking a chance with no safety blocks under that car thats lifted up on that fork lift!
I gotta say that “We’ll be right back” wipe with the music is just so perfect really adds a professional 1998 PBS feel I just love it so much it makes me smile every time 😊
Matt is the granddaddy of “we’ll get ‘em out” and deserves the level of work Robby and Hillbilly are doing. But… the attention to detail is outstanding. Much respect to all in the Layton Nation.
Matt is going to love seeing Blue Steel looking like new again. Great work as usual Robby and Family!
Hope Oh-sha doesn’t stumble across this vid with HillBilly working under a suspended load. 😮
Always great to watch Robby working his magic on dents. 👍
With the amount of bushwhacking Matt does I would think Matt would want a bumper that protects the grill and lights - like a Ranch Hand bumper.
Was a little curious why it wasn't washed first thing? 😂
Still looks amazing. I'd love to have a truck like that
THAT TRUCK & BED Looks So Beautiful No One WIll Want To Even Use it For Fear of Hurting It, Infact They Might Be Afraid To Even LOOK AT IT, What A EXCELLENT JOB YOU ALL DID 👍👍👍
Hillbilly working under that car hanging in the air is about the same as him trying to explain what he’s doing. Did you find the carpal hillbilly? Wow dude
Everybody makes mistakes, but not everybody will go out of their way to fix them. Plenty of people would have said it's fine or too late, and let it pass. That's what we love about you, you fix even that which most of us wouldn't notice anyway. And the end results are always fantastic.
Those powder coat guys lung's are going to be dying on them quickly breathing that stuff in like that. 😮😢
I was cringing while watching that portion of the video. One guy looked like blue steel smurf.
They are professionals, they know more what they are doing than a couple of keyboard warriors.
@@mahbriggs Professionally holding their breath.
@@mahbriggsplenty of dead professionals around.
@@zyeborm
Even more dead amateurs.
It’s amazing how knowledgeable these young guys are! Love to watch them work their magic! Matt’s recoveries will scratch them up so no worries about spotless perfection. It won’t last.
Robby just has a baby face 👼 He's been doing this type of work for almost 20 yrs. 17 years I think he said a couple videos back.
Robby and Hillbilly .... Good job on Blue Steel. It looks Great ..... for now.
Osa is going to be pissed about this video. Under car hanging from forklift and powder coating without proper PPE
DANG Hillbilly, I was sittin here holding my breath that the car didn't crush you to death even though the video was already done beforehand. At the least some tall tires on each side to be able to lay flat real quickly if it did come down on you.
Robby it takes quite a person to admit and own up to there mistakes. Have a great week and count your blessings amen.
Too many shops out there would have let that dent in the back slide since it was not due to the rope break. You are an honest man.
I appreciate the fact you address the problem as soon as it came to your attention instead just delaying the project.
I enjoy the mix of content this channel offers including body work, project vehicles, off-roading, recoveries, tow jobs, demolition derbies, and frequent collabs with other awesome TH-camrs and industry professionals. Great work!
I remember Robby saying in the video about the mirror, hood and fender, he said we are just taking care of this damage, there is more but it is a work truck. Now he says i wish i knew about this damage so i could have fixed it.
Hillbillies crazy for getting under that car like that with just a strap holding it up
"Lost at 'C'" 🤣Love Adley! 😍As always, Thank you for sharing!
The first step before doing any body work is to wash the whole véhicule. It avoids omitting repair areas.
I thought the same thing
Hey Hillbilly and Robby, there is an excellent way to keep bees and wasps from nesting in your cars. Check online for battery run ultrasonic bee and wasp repellent modules. You can put them wherever you want to keep those stinging critters out. Another way is to throw a car cover or tarp over the vehicle and secure it tight. Both methods work great!
Lol, Robbie, this is the first time seeing you like, "Oh really? Really? I'm still not done the bodywork on this thing. But, that wasn't in the plan!"
It's funny because you always take surprises in such stride. Especially so, because you still handle them better than most people. You aggravated renders you as still on the side of, "Oh well, we're all human.", and you get down to business fixing it up. Yep, you have a great attitude!
Thank you I appreciate it!! Problems are only problems if you let them be… I see them as opportunities to find solutions!
I had the same problem with wasps and the "Spectracide Spray" was useless. I then purchased the "Raid Wasp & Hornet Killer Spray" and it worked instantly.
Well done you, I respect someone who owns their mistakes, take it on the chin and learn from them. My dad was a coach builder so I know how easy it is to miss a dent or dunkel on a dirty vehicle to be fair your mind is working overtime as you have so much going on at the moment so I guess you are entitled to the occasional miss. But 100% respect to you for standing up and owning that little oversight. All the best from Scotland.
Wow Robby really like that you explain exactly how you use your tools to pull out the dent in the cab corner and releasing the pressure with the soft hammer taps so kool love your channel!
I saw that dent on the cab corner when you guys were repairing the dent on the hood and installing the fuel tank. I was going to mention it, but figured Matt didn't want it fixed. I'll know better next time. Another great video, you do amazing work, that color matched powder coating is just freaking awesome!!
25:18 Hillbilly kicking on that car while it is hanging by a strap on one fork tip had me closing my eyes.
Need to make blue steel a dually!
Lost a good friend of mine to seconds of being trusting in blocks and straps. He was a racer working on his car when it fell on him. His wife found him later in the day when he didn't show up at home. God Bless you Wade....RIP
Robby is the Bob Ross of dent pulling 😂
Tell Hillbilly sometimes it takes 3-4 spray to kill all the wasp!
That key puller is pretty slick. Beats drilling holes and using a slide hammer.
I bet the manufacturer of the powder coat says to use a respirator while applying their product. Someday all those guys will have respiratory problems and the lawyers will file a class action lawsuit that bankrupts the paint manufacturer.
More likely the shop.. really need respirators no matter how tough you are...
@@1ltlbrnc The lawyers always go after the deep pockets.
I can hear now. ACCIDENT AT LAYTON AUTO. An employee named hillbilly found flatten underneath a derby car when tele-handler failed. RIP hillbilly. Come on guys SAFTY FIRST !!!!!!!!!
Robby ! hillbilly make a rookie mistake went he change the starter no Jack stand under need
dude that bumper is read! nicely done.
Robby, you're amazing at what you do
Best to see when I wake up and hop on TH-cam to see Robby posted🎉
Love watching your videos. You should do a running timer on projects. total time worked and total overall time for project completion. Your times will be small compared to hobbyists but it would give a better understanding of what it takes to complete ding fixes, repaint, etc.
These instructions don't have pictures don't need em CLASSIC 👍🏾👍🏾 I call them bees cause they go buzz buzz not wasp wasp 😂😅😊Legend call right there
Can't believe those guys powdering without masks - if you get that much on your outside, imagine how much you're getting in your lungs. Blue steel looking good, thanks guys.
Hey guys, brake cleaner is nearly instant on the wasps and bees🎉
Yay! A bodywork video. I like those.
Powder Coating looked Amazing Good Luck Derby Day
The pickup is looking Great ! (mistakes) happen - all of my pencils have erasers and the lap top has a Delete Button ! LOL ! Thanks for sharing !
I love your guys channel, You're kicking butt! When you get under a vehicle like Hillbilly is, Please use some blocking or jack stands. It makes me cringe seeing him under that car without crush protection.
My neighbor was recently killed by his vehicle when it fell on him, No crush protection at all. Everyone's life matters, Protect you're family!
Just want to add. I professionally powder coated for 5 years seeing Kevin and his crew at Powder Extreme Coatings do what they do and what i used to was nice.
Our booth was 12x 24 our oven 13x36. Painted ablot of two tone komatsu forrestry cabs in my 5 years. I miss it but money is better making paper
I found it so hard to watch that I just can't stop my comments on how I felt watching that I can't believe Robbie even posted that danger hillbilly being underneath that car helped by a strap
Thanks for making
Can’t wait so the derby. Great stuff.
There’s not much people that takes responsibility and says “I made a mistake, it’s my fault”, that’s why I enjoy your videos and the repair tips you give…
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
Looking Awesome Robby and Hillbilly
😂 I'm sorry Robby but your face when you saw those dents was priceless
Hey Robby....give yourself a break. Nobody is perfect but you sure work hard to be the best....and for a friend at that!! Well done master!!
I love Hillbillie's explanations for how things work!
0:05 LOL don't tease me like that, bro! I've beeen looking forward to seeing the bed today and then I was all "ahhh" but then I was all "hell yeah!"
You're my regular Sunday night thing baby!
Truly epic work guys
Awesome video! Thank you all for sharing 😊😊
Thanks!
Cant wait to see the finished product
I found myself in the shop the other day saying it just needs a little tap tap a little
tap-a-roo 😂
Can't wait to see it completed. It's going to look awesome
Keep up with the good work love watching you on TH-cam God bless
AWESOME!
good work & attention to detail!
Jeez I learn so much from this channel! Thanks Robby and team!
You the man Hillbilly!!
Blue Steel is looking awesome, nice work.
Amazing work guys and gals
I am looking forward to seeing Blue Steele when you guys get it all done. I know Matt will love Blue Steele
