Give Paul a medal this looks like a nightmare of a job to do with the engine in place..
I was going to say I just love the simplicity of the turbo design and fitting on these things.........lol
Indeed
@@DarksideDevelopments - Honestly can see why turbo'ing petrol K Series honda's and LS engines is all the buzz instead of diesels, when you end up getting over complex turbo setups like these!
Any VAG turbo / egr related job is a massive PITA!
@@davog1946 honestly it's a lot easier on the passats than the golf's/jettas I can't even see the turbo in my mom's JSW
I like this type of videos better than the race ones. Do more! And bring back the Arosa 🙏
We will try!
Salut, David! Ai mare dreptate și nouă ne plac mai mult 😁
Insane performance out of a 2.0L
Diesel too
B8 variants look stunning.
That's some impressive straight line capabilities
you have to be really good keeping the overview in this chaotic motor room....
Love the timelapse videos! Looks like a pain in the arse!
i don't mind the race videos but the tuning videos are better what you start with and what you can gain so much power / torque from a two litre engine wow .
Got to appreciate how lucky we are with stout OE engines these days. Remember not so long ago 2.0HDI and 1.9TDI engines pooing rods out the blocks at 150hp!
Exactly!
Sometimes a 1.8 TDCi 115 will kick a leg out of bed with only 115 ponies 😂
That actuator is designed to stop working when DPF is removed.....
To piss you off 😅😅
This engine in a gtd would be crazy
First of all thank you so much for the last Video of the Bitdi ..seems like a Nightmare to work on this Engine Bay…great job Guys..so this is a Upgrade Bigger Turbo ?
Yes, mild upgrade
@@DarksideDevelopments so I think the dpf off helped a lot with the egt temperature probs or ?
Marginally, the DPF is fairly large
@@DarksideDevelopments would it be worthwhile to keep the dpf and just throw in the bigger turbo? Id really like to get more out of my Passat but German emission laws are very strict.
You could do a big shop at Iceland with that massive estate and you'd be guaranteed to get back before your ice lollies and peas thawed out 🤣
Wanted the bitdi passat for ages. But bought the Audi A6 black edition 3.0 tdi had a map to, figures for the bitdi are very good audi interior quality better. May have to get the darkside exhaust.
Why Audi interior is better?
I’m tempted to do this conversion. Mine is 5 years and 150,000 miles and remapped since new (288bhp). Zero has gone wrong with it . I never have to top it up with oil between services. Also no apparent power loss over the 150k miles. Should i chance it? I’d obviously need a price for you to complete the job.
Miles seems to have little bearing on condition of the engine itself.
Who remapped it mate ? I have Vw arteon bitdi 240bhp would like to remap it as well just don’t want any problems with the DPF 😅
@@SILKY_999 My car now has 160k miles. Remapped since new. DPF still ok 👍
@@Mickytdi that’s great to hear mate who remapped it ? Dark side ?
I would consider replacing injectors. They tend to lose precision and putting the engine at risk. bosch oem are around 350$ a piece
So.. what did u actually do with that car.. turbo plus downpipe and ecu modifie?
Correct
I have the same vehicle and mines quicker than the s3 golf r etc I purchased it from a Toyota dealership but found out that the previous owners were as tuning company. Called them they said it was their pool car and they didn’t remap it. 😅 but clearly faster than any hot hatch as I found on the road I was leaving them in the dust.
put the same money into a hot hatch and you wont stand a chance. dont get a big head pal
How many exhaust gases compared to the serial with DPF? I live in Germany and is difficult without DPF . Is possible Hybrid turbo und upgrade DPF :))
No extra visible smoke and most tests won't detect but things are getting stricter! I think the hybrid will be OK with stock DPF
Do you have the hybrids now in stock and can you confirm they can be a straight swap with the dpf in place?
Please note:NO Swear words were used in the making of this video......sorry typo...All swear 🤣🤣
Paul quoting Shrek haha legend
Belle vidéo 👌 😉. Un sacré travail en mécanique 👍👍
Guys, have you discovered a permanent fix for the actuator being stuck open on these? (P22D200). Its becoming common in the Passat FB groups. You guys originally resolved it for me by freeing some carbon build up on the actuator (and then mapped the car) but it lasted less than a year until the next limp mode. I would love to know if there's a reliable solution. I'm currently loosening it with penetrating oil which gives me about 2 months of use before limp mode again. Could it be as simple as replacing the actuator/s?
Unfortunately not, I don't think changing the parts like for like will cure the problem. It will likely make a difference for longer but due to the design I think the same will happen again at some point.
@@DarksideDevelopments Ok thanks. Will my mechanic need to remove the whole turbo like in this video to be able to get at the actuator arms and grease them up again?
Likewise, my BiTDi has this recurring issue. Very annoying on such a good car.
Curious to know why the Passat bitdi doesn’t have launch control? I’ve tried 2 different dsg tuners and neither can activate it, seems the same in this one also you have to brake boost it, I’ve seen launch control on other B8 Passats
You brake boost all of them anyhow!
@@DarksideDevelopments yes I know that but there is no specific launch control program like say the golf R, as just holding the brake and accelerating still makes the car want to go before releasing the brake
@@michaelcrozier5178I have it in my 150 tdi😅
Turn traction control all the way off, turn off auto hold, put it in sport, push brake hard and that is it... it will be in launch control. Its different feeling when you brake boost it and when you manage to do launch control so you will know you did it
Why is there so many pipes and cables these days????
Never had that on my old diesels.
Or do they run everything across the top of the Engine for access?
No, they run them everywhere and access is terrible!
Its because the manufacturers want you to go to the dealer when it breaks.
I found the hybrid turbo with 450 hp potential, is this power on that engine possible to run save? considering an upgrade for dq 500 in it?
Let us know! We've not seen these figures yet
Great work, what’s the 0 - 60 on these then is it 4.1 or 5.1? Also what would be the approx cost of this?
It's done a 3.99 now. Drop is an email for a package price.
So tempted to bring my BiTdi R-Line Edition wagon in, what kind of figures have you had with them?
Just with a tune, they normally do around 280-290bhp
Am tempted to bring my Vw arteon bitdi r line in as well now 😅
Wait, you mean the turbo has to come off to do a DSG service? Hmm i doubt my VW dealer did that. A bit worried now.
Yep, or the box out
I’m back in the VAG gang, bought my dream car from Sheffield 2 weeks ago
A yellow beetle wi’t 1.9 PD, I serviced it today
The oil, oil filter, and air filter were in horrendous condition and engine had a knocking sound (like a loose pulley) Tis a lot smoother sounding now.
I can’t find the engine code though. Will it be an ASZ ?
It’s a 53 reg 5 speed, any ideas lads ?
ASZ wasn’t fitted to a beetle, yours will be a 1.9 PD100. ATD is the Engine code I believe
@@jordanmundy3570 Thank you mate, I was wondering. I used to have a Fabia with the BLT. I can’t post photos on here, the car is solid but the engine has been overlooked definitely!! The old air filter was too small, oil like treacle and the oil filter looked like it was being turned inside out.
I’ve a vid on my channel of it, I wish I’d of video’d the service.
I want to mimic this on my 2012 passat tdi 2.0
Ryan, Could we see a video using water injection to lower EGT's (could hit 400bhp+ then no doubt???)?
+20hp maybe
@@DarksideDevelopments - Oh, bit of an optimist I must be! lol
It seems so, haha
Probably with Hybrid turbos
Hi, is possible to remove gearbox without remove The engine?
Yes
Is it acuatlly much noiser inside after all eco off?
Not really!
I got a 2015 passat tdi in Canada. Would this setup work on it too?
Totally different!
Alright, so I have a Passat B8 2015 Variant (DDAA), basically looks the same under the hood and I'm about to do a DPF Delete with a new race cat. However, on my downpipe, on the OG cat I have the AdBlue system (SCR). How would one go about removing this? I mean, ofc I can program the car to not use the adblue system but wouldn't that mean the cables/hoses and stuff are just open/free in the engine compartment?
I don't find much info about B8's(or EA288) overall when it comes to exhaust and these kind of stuff.
Thanks
Jimmy
Removing the software should be enough, this is all we normally do
@@DarksideDevelopments Thanks for the reply, much appreciated!! So you leave the hoses and cables for the AdBlue just inside? tie it together and move it to the side kinda?
Again, thank you very much for the reply.
Our pipe has a boss like the stock pipe so it's safe
Why 4motion front wheels only spining? My audi a4 b7 3.0 tdi have 200 kw and 650 nm after remap and holed dpf
Haldex unplugged!
What about oil temps? Do they get so hot like the CUNA/CUPA?
Not quite as hot but hard to keep below 130's
Could anybody explain me please, where there is the second turbo? At the CUAA engine (I have also one too) I only see one turbo and one turbine-wheel. But where is the second one?
It's underneath, we have a video showing them.
@@DarksideDevelopments ok, which video is this? It really would be very interesting for me
I can't remember exactly but likely the latest Golf one
Good afternoon!
how can i get 400+ hp from CUAA engine?
Please drop us an email - sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk 👍
hello how hard it is to put this engine in a golf 7 ?
It would bolt in
How much for the remap on a 2.0 l cja 2014 Jetta DPF delete?
Drop us an email to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk
Need some exhaust clips
have you ever tuned the golf 8 gtd engine ?
Not yet
You guys need to stop making these videos. I don't need to be spending more time and $ looking for a new TDI with AWD or converting mine.
how much would it cost . make up to 4s
Drop us an email to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk with reg/vin for costs
Is this an engine that could fit in a 2019 caddy?
If the budget allows!
Glad I only have the 18" wheels and not 19" the road noise is pretty bad.
How much hp can the stock CP4 r65 can do??
350 maybe?
How fast on 1/4 mile?
It was around 12.6 seconds
@@DarksideDevelopments thats impressive for daily car 🤩 good job dark side performance!
i gone put this engine in my t6 if my 204 goos out
Turbo off or gearbox out for a dsg service 🫤🤮
Wow what a sleeper I bet that can embarrass a lot of cars.
would it be possible to add the biturbo to a golf mk7 TDI?
No, you need the full engine and wiring
Honestly guys I can't afford to watch ur videos anymore lol 😅😅 thats where were at is it. Twin turbos 😢 I need finish this first one car first 😊 thats a sexy setup tho...my wife will literally kill me.. I wonder if this kinda setup would fit a 2010 s40 2.0d she needs a head start 😅
Might be something out there for an S40 but this setup probably won't fit
I think you may have over done it with the the trap music and the slow mo beauty shots of the car on this one.
and draggy defo looks like it can't read a stopwatch
Mmmmm. Not convinced. What did that job cost !?
Not convinced about what part?
@@DarksideDevelopments It looked like it was overcooked to be honest. Take off seemed a bit of a handful.
I noticed you didn’t mention the cost of doing all that work?
You can get 340 HP and nearly 600 Nm with Stock Turbos
On what Dyno 😂 Send Draggy times and we'll see how they compare to this one with 330bhp.
are these awd?
Yes, 4Motion
Darkside i would like to see what u could do with a mercedes 400d engine 😮💨
We never got those!
What an ugly ass engine bay tho, so cramped up in there and just a soar in the eye. Good work from you guys like always tho.
