I respect you guys so much because you challenge the status quo. You’re dope, I hope to be blessed enough to meet amazing people and to be exposed to the same level of opportunities. This is what aviation should be! Respect
That is such a great comment.. good news is, a new generation of pilots are here. We’re smashing status quo’s and performing better than ever. We’ve both worked very hard to get to this level. Any time if you are in the same city as us I encourage you to reach out. Either of us would be happy to have a bite to eat and help you in any way we can! Keep up the good work whatever it may be! #Respect you are the 🐐 remember… networking is 🔑
why do you think they are dopes?
Yep, so "dope" lol
@@victoriapendleton4099 The term `dope` is an old school meaning for being great.
Challenging the status quo how? I’m not talking shit just curious, I don’t know anything about the pilot world
One of my high school classmates (class of 1957) was a Gulfstream pilot. He just died this year. He and his fraternal twin brother earned their pilot's license while they were high school students. He is missed greatly.
sorry for your loss
Someone asked "what happens when we die" , someone replied "i dont know much but the ones those loved us will remember us."
@@goldendeogam8683 Perfect reply.
No uniforms, no annoying passengers, no docking. Best job ever I think. Congrats guys. Really good video.
I would never fly with anyone
Congrats Owen. It’s wonderful in life to be around chill people who obviously recognize and respect your hard work
Thank you so much!
Right on dude, right on. Now pass the hooter.
I worked at Gulfstream's Bethany, OK plant from 1996 till that location closed in 2002. This was a rush seeing one of our planes in action. Thanks, Owen!
Go you remember Glen (Killer) Groves? That was my Granddad
The best job in the world. Flying for Post Malone. You guys scored. Savor this moment man. Have fun.
Post Malone's fucking gross dude
Thanks for saying the artist name. I had no idea. :D
Nobody cares, how is that honor?
@@edwardb911😂😂 I thought it was kid rock to be honest! Flying ole Posty 😂 who cares, the job it’s the G4 is the real rock star here!!
He treats his people super well and it shows
Thanks for the video. I just finished a 28 year career with Alaska Airlines flying the 737-4/7/8/9/Max series. I was intrigued to see that the preflight/FMS setup/Performance pages are very similar to the Boeings. I considered a post career in GA but I’m loving life on the farm in Missouri. I do miss the flying.
17,000+ hours
Lots of different qualification both in military(Navy fighters) and Commercial.
Thanks for a peak in your daily life.
Sure, stick to farming. You did enough in aviation.
Enjoy retirement man!!
Get a DPE certificate and enjoy grilling the pilot wannabes 😂
Can you give us your best near miss or mistake learning lesson. Appreciate you.
Would you consider working as private pilot 👨✈️ on part time basis? If so, which aircraft would you prefer flying?
"I'm blessed." Indeed you are Owen. Thanks for an awesome view into your life.
What a chill life. Great to see the cockpit. Flew G3 and G5 aircraft and really miss flying Gulfstream planes. You guys rock!
Would love to get my hands on a GIII some day. Thanks for watching!
As a private pilot working towards my instrument->commerial->cfi->1500 hours, this video has really made me consider going corporate over fedex, ups, or one of the majors. I really enjoyed the initial cockpit view, APU start up, and walk around. Keep up the great content and I appreciate you sharing the insight into your world as a corporate pilot!
Thank you for watching! It’s definitely a great alternate career to the airlines to consider. Stay tuned, another Gulfstream flight vlog going up in a few hours. :)
Same. I appreciate the 91 environment more than the stress and rigor of the 121 world
Same. The only thing that concerns me is that I've heard some airlines won't accept, or it's harder to get into, one of those majors if you used to fly corporate. This means it might be better to start with a regional or major airline and then move to private/corporate afterward.
Great video Owen! I have to say I still don't get used to seeing Doritos and Frito Lays in a 40 million plane. I cannot wrap my head around that, it is the same I can go buy in the convenience store around the corner. You know what I mean.......
This is so great to see a completely different side to life than most of us are used to - thanks for sharing this with us!
My mom is retired now but she was a 20 year corporate pilot including on the G4. I'm lucky to have gotten to fly on these beasts more times than I can count. Good to see you're enjoying it! 😎
This is literally the best pilot life ever. I really look forward to such a life.
Keep grinding!
@@davidsuttles101 nice one mate, it’s about enjoying what you are doing and not just being there for the money
@@davidsuttles101 is about the passion for flying, not the money.
@@optimusprime4443 Oh for sure! I still have a passion for flying, just not commercially!
@@davidsuttles101 You should have stayed in the Army. You could have retired with a nice pension by now. My friend, Steve Hubbard, flew Army helicopters and made CWO 5.
Great stuff. I'm an engineer at G-SAV and love seeing the stuff we work on in action. More G content like this please.
Some of you engineers and by some I mean most, need to get smacked in the face for some stupid ass designs. It should be a 5yr mandatory requirement for all engineers to be mechanics first, only then ya'll would realize how most things are designed to be not mechanic friendly
@Dean Snipah How long have you been an engineer? It's easy to cast stones and generalize. Angry outbursts on a positive posting does nothing to help. Like a toddler with a tantrum. You're not saying anything new. Instead, become that engineer and fix those designs. Otherwise, pipedown while the adults talk.
Great video. There's actually a lot of old guys (61yo) that are truly impressed with the next generation and what they are willing to take on. Keep going.
Thanks for watching!
Wow, what an exciting glimpse into the world of aviation! Flying a Gulfstream G-IV from Van Nuys to Salt Lake City is a dream come true for many of us aviation enthusiasts. Your video provides a fantastic opportunity to learn about the preflight process, gain insights into your job, and discover the behind-the-scenes aspects of life when you're not up in the sky. Thanks for sharing this unique perspective with us, and I can't wait to watch the video to learn more about your journey. Safe flying!
Am proud to be a mechanic on the Gulfstream jets! Savannah service center!
Paint department 2012-2015
bad ass video guys! I have flown 91 for billionaire , 35 with the Citation X and 15 years airline pilot 73/800 now. I know that life and miss it, enjoy every second. Flying for Post is a dream job, all about networking and being chill to fly with on the road. Double 👊👊for Owen and Tommy. I subscribed and excited to see more vids.
That big bird!!! Love it
Dude. Start and take off are the best parts of these aviation videos
You hit the nail on the head about getting along in the cockpit. I can think of a few times I wanted to choke the crap out of the other guy in the cockpit. People don't realize how horrible it can be to have the wrong team paired together.
Friend of mine was invited to interview for a Gulfstream slot. He asked why they wanted to meet at a restaurant. Told him to check the interview mode at the door and just chill during lunch. Told him they were checking him out to see if they wanted to be around him in a cockpit and on the road. He got the job.
I’m a simple guy. I see a new fly with Owen video I immediately click like 👍
Thought that said you were a single guy there for a second! Was thinking that you sure are straight forward. 😂 Glad you’re simple!
simple gay guy, but thats cool to
@@RussellD11 you can tell his brother Christian, is the bottom. I’m thinking Owen never has to go too far for a BJ, lol
Get a life
Hell ya been excited for this one
You guys rock ! Thanks for sharing this awesome video. It’s great to see how the rockstar pilot life works.
Fly safe bud’
Thanks Nicolas!
Being a GLEX driver for years and actually training on GIV as well this is the kind of gig I love. You got the real deal of a job, no uniform and enjoying the day this is just perfect good for you guys !!!👍🏼😉
Blows my mind that anyone can remember all the procedures to start, fly, and land one of these! 😮
It is encouraging to see young men performing this role with such skill 👍👏
This is amazing! I worked up to a Private Pilot License 100Hrs + and took a break. This vid inspired me to get back in the game! How did you guy work up to get certified for a Gulfstream and how long did it take? You guys are around my age so I am impressed! This is the kid of pilots I wanna be around for sure
Man, so smart, I have lots of respect for you guys. Our lifes are in your hands!
Hey Owen, great update as usual. Wow VIP at Post Malone, gotta love that!
I used to fly out of the Exec side of KSLC, easy in and out if Delta wouldn't keep so busy.
Pretty sure he’s post’s pilot if I’m not mistaken
Totally glad PM has such great and super safe pilots.
I’m a retired corporate pilot, flew corporate all my career and I never had a gig like that. I always either had a uniform, or dressed in some sort of company attire. Even when we ferried a plane we had to wear what they called appropriate attire.
Another never, I never had a owner ask me what time was convent for me, I was told what time they wanted to leave. I never flew charter, always for the owner and or corporation.
Guess times have changed since I retired. Interesting.
Maybe it's just me, but I'd want my G4 pilot to look like an Air Force Colonel instead of a musician. But then again, I'm a marketer/business guy and not a musician myself lol!
Times haven't changed this is just a unique situation...
@@Chris11249 different strokes for different folks! I’d rather my pilot be dressed comfortably, rather than sitting with a tie and tight collar on. I’ve worn them in my career before, and I can say my personal comfort makes me feel better in the cockpit. Who wants to be sweating in a tie when it’s 114F outside on the ramp in Las Vegas…. Shorts and a Shirt for me buddy! Cheers man!
We’re just really really lucky the boss values our comfort vs our appearance.
@@gear_down Fair enough!
THE TH-cam CHANNEL WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR
Thanks for the great content, I really enjoyed watching it. It's my dream to pilot the Gulfstream IV, so I cant stop watching this great bird and the start procedures. Thanks again for uploading and wish you safe travels.
The Gulfstream is a great aircraft! More content coming
Nothing in the world of aviation like a serious flight crew, very comforting
This was a great video. @flywithowen I did the opposite path….18 years of touring as a drummer and then becoming a corporate pilot. You nailed a unicorn job. So awesome to see! (Also glad to see a tattooed pilot not blacklisted from short sleeve shirts the rest of his life 😂)
the owner has more tats than him! lol
😉
QueensRyche guitar player also became private pilot
The coolest lifestyle I’ve ever seen, and that’s perhaps how I’d like to be mine in the future. Who not right? Either corporate or airline pilot is my thing
Just now subbing! How did I not know about this channel before? I was flying a beech jet 400a for a Cooperate. I only logged 25 hours in the past three months, so I decided to part ways and go for my CFI. Because I only have about 300 hours. I Enjoy the video!
Awesome, thanks for watching and more to come!
Mad respect guys, such incredible knowledge and such a kind demeanor are rare
Dude this is so cool. I need to learn how to fly
Thanks bro, you need to come flying with me sometime
Nate you seem gay...
@@markdittbenner9949 And? so? Jealous much?
Do it! No better time than now
bro you'll be learning on a 71 Piper
I've been working at Gulfstream since Dec 1986. Early in my career, for 4 years, I flew in the jumpseat of greenie GIVs as a production test flight tech. I loved that job!
Owen you've been an inspiration to fly corporate since my days as a student pilot. This is awesome content, no doubt you'll inspire more. Congrats on an amazing gig.
Went to SJSU with you hahahaha! Just recently found out you had this TH-cam thing going, I’m glad to see you took a route than most of us. It’s really an eye opening to see how things are on the corporate side! Finally moved from envoy to United, little upgrade from the ERJ to the 777. Times flies bro, but I’m glad to see all our Spartans doing great in this business. Hope to bump into you one day. PS: currently based at SFO
Very nice, you are really living the “rock star” life. Enjoy your flying as well as those exciting trips! 🛩
His work is to get from a to b in luxury and then have fun in the highest, respect G
Great to see two hard working and successful young pilots living their aviation dreams. My son is a student pilot at Embry-Riddle now who wants to fly private like you. Keep on making these videos!
I loved the GIV! I flew one for 12 years all over the planet. What a great jet!
Yes indeed!
Great video. Glad I branched out to your channel from Guthmiller. Hope you guys remain friends and collaborators. Lot of fun!
This is so awesome to see congrats Owen and you guys deserve it hard work goes a long way.
Payday candy bar just chillin there as your starting up a multi million dollar jet 😅😅😊
That was awesome!! I'm an aviation geek! I know you can't probably tell who was in concert but it looked like " jelly roll!" Thanks for sharing. Super cool gig!!
So fire. Owen, you’re living the dream
My guy is killing it! Best CoCaptain on earth!
Really cool see behind the scenes. I represented artists as a booking agent and owned one of the largest agencies in my state.
How do FBO's, airports and even the FAA deal with a Gulfstream operation with 2 great dudes in jeans and t shirts. Do you go international - can imagine the faces at the large international flight centres with you guys rocking up - superb. Keep the videos coming...
They probably think they would be the passengers 😂
We definitely get some looks. Especially when we leave with the passengers!
We have casually dressed pilots at the FBO I work at all the time. It's pretty easy to tell who the pilot is (they look like they know what they're doing and will usually approach you to ask for services/fuel order).
I used to work with that FBO at SLC cleaning aircraft and no one would care how the pilots look. Pretty chill.
@@Alex10121 That’s happened to me on many occasions
Hey! Loved this video. I'm a college student set to co-op at gulfstream in the completions department starting this fall. can't wait!
This is such an amazing job. I’m currently 16 at the moment. Started my ppl a couple months ago and just did my first solo last week. I definitely want to be a pilot when I’m older and your video is such an inspiration. It’s awesome to see all the different opportunities in the aviation sector. Is there any chance you’d be willing to make a video/share with me how you became a private jet pilot? It seems like such an awesome job and maybe hopefully something I could do in the future. Awesome video 🔥💯
You can be ever so good of a pilot, but first you will need to convince the aircraft owner/operator that you should be sitting in the front seat vice a passenger seat. 😇😉
Not too many pilots your age flying G4! Like you I was 21 flying right seat in the Challenger 601 for Tuthill CORP all the while going to law school. Sometime I would fly cargo as well in the Beech 18 PIC and the MU-2 PIC! Keep it up 💪💪
So sick man, you’re very lucky. True inspiration🔥
He’s a great pilot!
I grew up on Sherman way and Woodley, amazing to see what happens behind the scenes. Definitely two different worlds🔥every time a jet takes off I just think, “boom someone’s time is more valuable sheeesh”
I was surprised that the boss was that chill, then at the end when the boss was shown I was like Oh, yeah, makes sense now he is definitely a 1 of a kind person
Who was the boss? Couldn't see

Yes, she, this Gulfstream looks so beautiful...
Thank you we take great care of her
@@gear_down You are welcome. She, the Gulfstream, is beautiful aircraft...In the Avaition industry I come from flying DC-10s and 727s. But when the USA industry put aside the 747-400s for passenger usage, well that really hurt. So, I have settled being on the 777s and yes, I have seen beautiful G-IVs and Cesena Citation Xs many times in LAX.
I was gonna TS about the converse kicks while workin but then I realize the PIC has sleeves!! 🤣🤣 That's awesome to see such an unconventional gig you guys have. 👌
We do things a little different around here!
Owen that was awesome to see what you do!! It’s really awesome that you guys don’t wear uniforms, now that’s my kind of flying job. Thanks for sharing!
Probably a repositioning flight......most customers expect dress shirts and slacks for the amount they pay.
I would say you may take important people wherever they want to go but you are the most important person on board !!!
That’s the truth, but our passengers are #1 in our book :)
Man that’s so awesome. I’ve gone through Clay Lacy and Tac Air many times but definitely could only dream of a gig like yours. 😅

I used to work for a family as a chef in the early 90’s. They had a gulfstream and king air. 3 full time pilots and 1 pt. I feel so privileged to have been able to fly in those planes. Not many ppl can say they have had the opportunity. Fun times. Sometime I sat in the copilot seat on the king air when the plane was full. I’m hoping in the future to be able to fly again as a true passenger and not an employee. lol.
