i was looking for somthing to do to my 1.3 instead of the 1.6 swap and i believe you have shown me the way, i really enjoy your channel , thanks and keep em coming
Thanks for watching and subscribing Mick! The turbo has definitely improved the 1.3 and i thought it to be more cost friendly and less labor intensive to just add a turbo...i think i was right. Though there is some tuning required, and heat shielding needed. Its actually a pretty easy install, and i've never installed a turbo before this one!
More videos!!! Love seeing how-to videos for the zuki, have a 1992 jimny myself and your videos have helped me out alot! Anything else coming down the line? Thanks and keep up the content!
Yes, there is more content coming. We have recently moved, while the new shop is way bigger it is not finished or heated but im working on that. Stay tuned for rear wheel bearing and backing plate conversion as well as the metal door handle replacements. Some tube rear mods and fab on a yota project i have. Lots of plans yet, thanks for watchin Zuki Evolution!
My '88 tintop would hit 80mph easily without a turbo or carb rebuild, all it took was boring the cat and adding a free flow air intake and loosening the fuel screw on the carb. Just give er more fuel, air and room to breathe!
Plus i dont have the turbo any more, im running a 1.6 16v engine, way better, more power, more torque. I shoulda put this engine in, in the first place!
I have a 92 samurai with stock efi. Trying to instal a turbo kit. Nobody seams to know if the fuel injector can handle up to 5lbs boost. Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thats a good question, ive heard of guys trying, but i havent heard any success stories. Your best bet would be to contact Myron at zuks off road and ask him the question. He builds turbo kits for the sammy, thats where i got mine from. Now i run a 16v and wouldnt look back! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@FabbinAdventures would love to swap in a efi engine. For now I’m trying to decide on a replacement for the stock carb. Any experience between a Toyota 3k and the 40/44mm cv?
Are you going to have to swap the transmission with the tracker, fast as it will get is 50 mph. 1st gear is real low. don't use 1st when pulling out in traffic you will get t-boned. I hope you don't have to change transmission and use the one from the 1.3, so i'll go try to find one.
Nope, im keeping the samurai 5 speed. Will be using trail toughs swap kit. So a modified wiring harness and an engine to tranny adapter. My sammy will also be getting the modified tracker rear diff and 4.62 gears front and back. Thanks for watching Fabbin Adventures!
Yeah, i may be pulling the 1.3 in the near future and putting in a strongly built 1.6 8v, most likely getting away from the harley carb, it doesnt start good in cold weather.
@@FabbinAdventures i did the 1.6 8v to in my second samurai back in 1997 and the 16valve in 2006 the 8valve is so simple you can use your stock exhaust manifold and intake manifold and carb and run a aftermarket fuel pump and put in on the frame rail it come with the kit from calmin. You put a adapter plate for the tranny and rim one of the upper bolts out and one motor mount replace with different one from kit and thats it. Later on i did a header and ported intake manifold and weber carb. But great motor reliable
Awesome, yeah thats kinda why im going that direction. I already have a header, and its throttle body fuel injection, so should start good in the cold and do good in the hills.
I havent watched that video in a long time but i would guess it is the fuel pump. Dont bother with the turbo if you are looking for more power, go for at least a 1.6 16v swap or the 2.0 or 2.3L swap, the turbo is not worth it and the engine is not made for it.

Nice, I have the my side set up was thinking about getting the my side turbo kit 🤟🏻a lot of good info thanks
Thats why i made the video, there sure is not much info out there on the my turbo or its installation!

If you run e85 or avgas
What spec you using for the valves? You can get a bit more lift with slightly tighter clearance (and reduces the chatter in these engines)
Couldnt tell you, i havent adjusted valves. Engine runs quiet right now.
Thanks for the comment!

20mpg would be amazing. I’m getting like 7mpg on a bone stock motor and carb. 31” tires no gearing yet!
I sold that turbo set up a few years ago, went with a 16V instead, way better!

@@anonymousdrft a little experience with the 44mm carb but not the 3k, but i hear the 3k is the way to go especially if you run it in cold weather.
Hay.
How do you make a turbo in a carburetor?
What materials are needed?
I have a SJ410 carburetor
please help me, I really want to make it
Get ahold of Myron at Zuksoffroad.com and he will help you out!
I bought it as a kit and put it all together.

Are you running an e pump? if so before the turbo or after or at all?
I sold that crappy turbo set up a few years ago, waste of time, running a 1.6 16v engine now, way better!
I am at 11 degrees at 700 meters above sea level but i still not get it right
The 1.6 16valve is the way to go i had the 4.9 transfercase with 32 inch tires i could go 90mph

any problems heating up on longer drives?
Nope, no problems at all.

What tire size and gears are you running?
33x12.5x15 tires and 6.5 to 1 t-case.
Thanks for watching Fabbing Adventures!
I wonder if you're too lean and that's whats causing the pinging.
Not according to my A/F guage and the plugs are a nice chocolate brown. Just running too much timing still
I think so, especially seeing it has a hard time even hitting 4,500 rpm. Give her some fuel and spark and bore that tail pipe!
hey i have a question.... my samurai dosent recieve any power when i connect the battery...what could be the issue? please and thank you
Fusable link is most likely blown, trace any wires from batt to starter and find the link and replace.
