Great video and very well explained. Love the gear driven cams. I had a vfr750 which I regret selling, had a couple of bikes therafter and am now on a 54 plate vfr800. Very good bike which goes well enough, however, watching this video and hearing the gear driven cams again made me think of my old 750 again. Now subscribed.
@@mickeymouse4897 I had a 1999 VFR 800. Once I replaced the complete exhaust, removed the 3 restrictions and added Denso Iridium power plugs.. it released some horses and is smooth and pulls like a train. Who needs to go faster than 160? My only complaint.. Its Really heavy! Removed stock Exhaust and centre stand to lose some weight.. 4kgs less. apparently you can get a lighter back wheel with more spokes which removes some weight also and a Lithium battery which drops another few kgs.. A good solid bike ;o)
It is much safer to take the battery out, while doing this kind of maintenance. Too much risk you make a shortcut on the battery terminals with a screwdriver or other tools. And of course you risc a small dent or scratches in the paint of your tank if tools fall or slide. I always keep tools as much as possible away from the bike to avoid this risc. But nice video overall ! I like it and the explanation. Thank you!
Hi, It does a little if I set it on fill just takes wind up a bit more, don't think it's better than a new uplifted screen. I have bar risers on the bike so it makes me sit up a bit more. Easier on the wrists.
Hi, i have just bought a 2000 VFR 800 fi, woth just 17k. I have found thr engine to feel a bit thumoy, ljke a v twin, jf there something wring with it??
There could be . You need to do a full check on stator output and look at r and r first. Check plugs filters. Look at what other people mods they done if any. It's poss not the engine but could be a host of other smaller issues as mentioned above.

Yes they are amazing machines those gdcs are awesome for the year even now 23 years on.
Try and use J.I.S. screwdrivers, they'll fit better than cross head and will help not to chew up the screws.
Nica and simple service.
I do need to buy some tbh. I'm super careful when I take anything off the bike. Thanks for tip
LASER do some nice options, reasonable price too
One of the best bikes ever made.
I have the vfr 800fi 1998 model and traded my Honda blackbird in for it.
Vfr plenty fast enough and better handling.
Don't u just love the V4 grunt out of corners, best bike ever, love my Yellow 1999 5th Gen, never sell her.

Actually you can remove excess oil trough filler hole with tiny rubber hose

Hi my battery is under a plastic cover with a rubber mat from under the tank on it as well. Glad you enjoyed the vlog. Thanx
nice video, thanks..would you be kind to tell me what bar risers you have on your VFR, I find the stock too low, cheers
I'll take a photo I'm not sure I think they are lifted by 1 and half inches and clip onto to fork heads . It does make a difference having risers on .
@@goingwildagain thanks much appreciated..my shoulders will thank you..
