Harri, I've seen this footage a 1000 times, I always love people's reaction with his amazing guitar switch. Something he did regularly and was to be expected by his tech, he had such strong hands. Now I've read the other comments and of course your subscribers are the best. I must suggest you check out Stevie and his older brother Jimmie, Vaughan playing 1 double neck guitar, Together at the same time . Song is called (PIPELINE ) A must see! Along with the sound check video. PEACE my friend.

Me too. SRV was only 1 month older than me & from Dallas (my family is from the same neighborhoods). I saw him in concert multiple times in the late 70s & 80s in Austin. He loved Jimi Hendrix & does the best cover of “Voodoo Child” hands down. RIP Stevie Ray 💔

Oh, how us lovers of SRV blues perfection truly MISS HIM!! 😢❤️😍 He just became unchained from alcohol & drug demons... 10 months or so later, he was reduced to rubble upon a mountainside, along with Eric Clapton's band members.
AND now today, Americans have their feelings "hurt" with mere words. "But did you die?" became my NOW favorite slogan... !! Thank you Harri - we HAVE to keep this great music alive today in September 2022! ❤️ Hugs, from Mesa, AZ 🌵

Simply the greatest guitarist of all time. Nobody equaled his combination of technical skills, showmanship and physicality. He played a guitar with incredibly heavy strings and high action. All that aside, he was super nice guy---especially after he got clean and sober. What a tremendous legacy he left!

He does a version of this song with blind guitarist Jeff Healy who has an unusual guitar style. So worth watching.
Also, there are many SRV version of the same songs that are the same but all different. Worth watching as well.

He did the impossible: played hard, fast, very precise but with a whole lotta soul. He never sounded robotic like some guitarists who play fast. He was an amazing musician and had a generous heart to go with his talent.

I think Reese and Stevie have similar God given hands & fingers..
Such precision strength accuracy (kinda like Bruce Lee) although seems likely much more stress and demand on Stevie's hands with those heavy strings, no match for him..
Just watched your Life Without You reaction you did last wk..
I think iv seen Voodoo Chile and Texas Flood..
Catch you and Stevie later, Thanks..

This is the guitar switch that you noticed... The one in sure you didn't catch was in the video I think you reacted to Life without you, I'm not sure if the time but it was in the first couple of minutes, he started with his brown guitar and switched to his White one abs never missed a note.

Harri, I see us, the ones consuming what SRV is putting out there, very much like Sharks in a feeding frenzy! Never getting enough and eternally returning for more! At least that's how I feel. (I should probably speak only of myself here.) I'm swimming around in circles keeping my eye on you & your channel, waiting to smell blood in the water! (another gem from SRV or the Beatles!) That is my truth about this "relationship" that we have. I mean 2 Weeks ago, I didn't even know that Harri Best existed and now I'm relying on you Harri for my sustenance. Rather strange dynamics, wouldn't you say? Let me know your thoughts...

Many of the performances I saw of his he would break a string and always changed over seamlessly. He looks to the right...nods...and there's another guitar. Lol. My understanding is that he used pretty heavy gauge strings. This performance is at Austin City Limits which was filmed for broadcast on public TV. Years later, after he has passed, his friends will stand on this same stage with his band Double Trouble and using this performance they will play with him one last time.

The other minor detail about breaking a string on a strat (or other trem guitar) is that the thing gous out of tune. All remaining strings to a different degree. It's bad enough to break a string live, but to have the remaining 5 all go out of whack, each to a different degree.

Guitarists! Have a look at Steve vai, the king of the instrumental. I saw him live in London about 20 years ago. Have a look at some smooth cool guitar goosebumps, TENDER SURRENDER (SteveVaiHimself), have a look at Steve vai I'M THE HELL OUTTA HERE-- CROSSROADS GUITAR FESTIVAL with legendary bass player BILLY SHEEHAN.with some interesting guitar playing in the middle of the tune. Have a look at Steve playing with 2 violinists, NOW WE RUN (SteveVaiHimself) also keep an eye and ears on the drummer's great performance in Now we run ,Jeremy Colson, not a Neil peart from rush size drum kit but he can certainly play it. Have a look at 2 cellos playing ACDC'S HIGHWAY TO HELL, with Steve vai on guitar. And have a look at Steve vai in a Epic guitar battle from the 1986 movie CROSSROADS in a guitar battle with RALPH MACCHIO (THE KARATE KID).good verses evil, I think that's enough to get you started, how's about a Steve vai triple neck guitar solo start to I KNOW YOU'RE HERE. Steve even sings on this one. STEVE VAI was voted one of the top ten guitarists of all time. Best wishes from the cold wet north east coast of England.

Yeah‼️. More Stevie Ray from Harri! Your comparison of his guitar tech changing him out after breaking a string to a Formula Race car crew was exactly my first thought when I first saw this! Well his guitar tech got lots of practice because Stevie was constantly breaking strings! When you consider he is bending and breaking 13 gauge piano wire strings gives you an idea of the strength in those oversized hands of his. Just incredible! Looking forward to much more review of his body of work. The neat thing is though you get a fresh sound from the same song played at a different time. Never played it the same way twice except for the basic structure of the song. Riffs and runs are different each time. Here is a link to him "In Session" with his mentor and idol, Albert King, called Dont Lie to me! th-cam.com/video/-ZL2b4O3nz8/w-d-xo.html
