THIS, is what a cyber conversion should look like! Not just plopping a brain in a machine body. Cybermen should have had more body horror just like this when they came back in 2006.
the OG cybermen were like this! or rather, the 'normal' people from their planet. The Cybermen were a full body encounter suit taking the comcept of cyberidization to it's logical conclusion for space work, only they found that the subjects went insane unless they had emotional regulators installed. Once they took over, they managed to work that idea of themselves into things enough that that is a 'cyberman' now.
The Gunslinger " A Town Called Mercy" is a good episode and I read about the story in the Doctor Who Magazine, section called The Fact of Fiction. It is a homage to Western films most significantly ""Gunfight at the O.k. Corrral" released in 1957.
That would be why you are having difficulty grasping it. The person speaking in the preview here (Points up) is in the Episode. And he is not the Master.
Did you watch the episode??? Doctor "Dr Kahler Jex" is the one who created the Cyborg. (Watch the Start of this Video his name is on the Holographic "label" at the beginning (Timestamp 0:10)
no its one of the scientists that created the monster in a town called mercy. playing on the idea of who is the monster? the monster or the monsters whom created them..
@@WafflesssFalling: No, it was released as a prequel to the episode on iTunes the day before the actual episode aired (according to the Doctor Who Fandom wiki page). It was also later included on the home media release of Series 7.
Well, not THAT similar. This is much more realistic about what would happen if such a concept were to become a reality, and the individual circumstances were very different.

Is it just me or there's the siren/nurse from the curse of the black spot singing?
Sara Fernandes yes it is the song of the siren
The Gunslinger

Not only does that guy just look like YANA, he's wearing the same clothing as him in Utopia.
I was about to say the same thing I just saw this now.
He definitely does look like YANA aka the Master.
Yep, they're playing the soundtrack "You're a Dead Man." I think. Possibly "Deadly Siren."
At 00:46 the guy on the left looks to me like Derek Jacobi who in season 3 ep. 11 regenerated into John Simm (The Master) .
It's not *supposed* to be Kahler-Jex. Those are three surgeons working under Kahler-Jex in the project.
0:35 Yana?! What the hell are you doing here?!
Actually that's the master :p
Bisma Kadar I know. I was referring to one particular incarnation of the Master by his alias.
+iLikeTheUDK maybe he build it before he knew he is the master
+Limi no because he hid at the end of the universe
the man, in the video is NOT the master. He is the man/Doctor who created the Cyborg in the episode.
Yep, I had a "is that Yana?" moment too...
This show got quite dark after RTD left...Love it.
nope. it got dark WHEN he was leaving; not after. Waters of Mars, hello?
HATE it. Moffat RUINED all the good work RTD did - then Chibnall even worse so. RTD has had to come back to repair all the damage
@@markc8956 Moffat didn’t, it wasn’t perfect but it was a solid run, chibnall however did which is why Russell is coming back now
@@NeroSparda99 That dude has asolutely no idea what he's talking about lol. What would Moffat have even ruined when RTD left with a blank slate.
Because it's the Doctor in the episode, not the Master.
He really does look like Kickpuncher.
Isn't that the Siren from the Curse of the Black Spot singing?
My thoughts exactly! The guy looks like Derek Jacobi!
That would be why you are having difficulty grasping it. The person speaking in the preview here (Points up) is in the Episode. And he is not the Master.
But it was the siren song.... I don't understand is there a connection somwhere
Did you watch the episode??? Doctor "Dr Kahler Jex" is the one who created the Cyborg.
(Watch the Start of this Video his name is on the Holographic "label" at the beginning (Timestamp 0:10)
So it's robocop?
no its one of the scientists that created the monster in a town called mercy. playing on the idea of who is the monster? the monster or the monsters whom created them..
0:35 I know that guy and I've never seen him so serious.
They don't mean the Gunslinger! They mean the guy at 0:36!
But how do you know the Master didn't create the gunslinger!
I thought so as well. He certainly looks very similar.
Wait what what what master what WHAT
The guy in the video is the guy who gets killed at the beginning of the episode.
And the siren song too.
Is it just me or is that The Master?
Not only does it look A LOT like Yana, Is that the Siren Song from last season?
"Siren Song from last season? "
Yes
Totally the siren Song. Anesthetic? and that does look a LOT like Yana...
I am sure that the Pentagon will come up with this.
No, I did not watch the episode! I live in Belgium and I'm either sleeping or eating around the time it airs on BBC, I believe!
this was a prequel? it tells you everything about the gunslinger, bit of a spoiler
It was released after the episode I think, though I could be wrong
@@WafflesssFalling: No, it was released as a prequel to the episode on iTunes the day before the actual episode aired (according to the Doctor Who Fandom wiki page). It was also later included on the home media release of Series 7.
No, it's not :P lol I see what you mean though it does look like the Yana Master (Derek Jacobi).
Really good :)
What makes you think that?
You evidently haven't watched the Waters of Mars. The show got dark WHEN Davies left, not after.
Wait a minute, was that Yana/the Master?!?! TELLLL MEEEEEHHHH! 😱
Omg it's the master
its not
Robocop!
RoboCop / Terminator ! He just needs an Austrian accent & to say " I'll be back ! " & then later " Come with me if you want to live ! ".
Why would he mention Captain America?
I got a sense of deja vu. And then I remembered.
This almost directly rips off the T2 Teaser Trailer!
(Don't believe me? Search it!)
I don't get it!
Dude. That is SO PROFESSOR YANA. EXPLAIIIIIIIIIIIIIN EXPLAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN. MR. WHITHOUSE WHY YOU TROLL US???
It kinda reminded me of pokemon; when they 'created' mewtwo. But maybe that's just because I had to watch it recently. (Not that I minded though :P )
0:40 kinda looks like YANA ye xd
Well, not THAT similar. This is much more realistic about what would happen if such a concept were to become a reality, and the individual circumstances were very different.
That IS the Master, not Carla Jex!
Again, NOT the Master.
Yes. Totally took me out when I realized what music they used.
No
Spoilers ;)
