I understand it's different kind of cardiovascular effort and impact than running 2 miles, but I still think their cardio might be better than most people would think. Other way around bud, Powerlifters aren’t known for their cardio. Strongmen obviously train cardio, because they have moving events where they’re running while carrying an assload of weight

It’s nice to see that other people share the same sentiment of ‘eating food is the training’. As a guy who’s been underweight for most of his life, seeing it’s a struggle for even the elite is kind of a motivator in a way.
If you want to gain some weight and struggle, I'd suggest drinking your calories. It goes down easier and helps supplement the meals. I was underweight (140lbs at 6') all through high school and college and started doing 1k calorie shakes in the morning and that alone got me to 160-165. That also helped the eating that got me up to 180.
Definitely listen to Steven. But also use the shakes as a chance to get ur micronutrients in like fruits & veggies. Might as well make it more healthy.

How have I never seen this before?! This is an awesome video of a variety of Strongman sharing tips of their diets. This just motivates me more and more to keep on eating and bulking the right way. March 2020 before quarantine, I was 150lbs. As of right now July 2021, I am almost 190lbs :) majority muscle. Still got visible abs, veins, vascularity, everything.
Awesome! I went from 133lbs (Dec 2021) to 154lbs (April 2022) at 3500 cal. I'm leveling off for now but will do another 3 month bulk after the summer. Have you been bulking this whole time?
Best advice I can give you is you need to do things right from the beginning. If you don't have experience get help. Find fitness coach and invest in a meal plan. Good thing for me I didn't need coach. I just got meal plan from Next Level Diet. I was getting 10 pounds of muscle per month.
I'd like to emphasize that nothing that was spoken in this video was actually ADVICE. They literally just talked about what they do personally in order to achieve their goals. I'm fairly certain very few of these extraordinary specimen would actually advice other people to indulge in such extreme diets.
I miss seeing Thor and Eddie compete but I respect that they earned their trophies and moved on. It makes it a bit more possible for other up and comers to achieve their dreams
Great advice when you are young and just want to get bigger and stronger! I followed this approach for a while and made great bulking gains off of it.... ...but now I'm getting older and have to clean up a whole lot for my health... which SUCKS! I miss eating like a pig.

Their body's basal metabolic rate must be like 3k cal easy. Around 160kg minimum. The energy requirements are absurd, which is why the surplus is much more than normal.
On the flip side, you can use this as an example when people who try to lose weight don't succeed. Often they start eating cleaner but they don't decrease the amount of food they eat and so they don't lose weight, similarly it's obviously possible to gain weight on a diet of oats, fruit, fish and lean meat

If you eat 2k a day and you want to get to 6k work your way up adding 500cals a week, don't just make the jump or your digestive system will cry.
If you eat 2k a day you have no bussiness trying to eat 6k. You will just endup fat af. These guys gain weight for close to a decade to get to 6k+.

I remember at one point I tried doing a bodybuilding type diet, I hated it and had to eat every two-three hours for 5 meals and it was just unbearable after 4 days. I can’t imagine this
I hate eating like this but you can't argue with the results. Eating even 3k calories all from clean sources is pretty hard.

Their body's basal metabolic rate must be like 3k cal easy. Around 160kg minimum. The energy requirements are absurd, which is why the surplus is much more than normal.

On the flip side, you can use this as an example when people who try to lose weight don't succeed. Often they start eating cleaner but they don't decrease the amount of food they eat and so they don't lose weight, similarly it's obviously possible to gain weight on a diet of oats, fruit, fish and lean meat
