Laura's love and passion for family, the farm, Nebraska and life in general is heartwarming and endearing. Puts a lump in this ol' guy's throat because its all so important. And NOW...we learn she can 'sit a horse' as well!?!? Over. The. Top. Cool. Blessings to all of Laura Farms.
So nice to hear Laura at the end say how much she loves where she lives. So many youth tend to think the grass is greener somewhere else. Way to go, Laura and the parents that raised you!
Agreed- seems like everyone my age wants to jump ship and move across the country...
Nothing wrong with wanting to explore this big world.
Laura has the advantage of being brought up in a loving environment and being able to work in a job she loves.
Not everyone is so blessed. It's understandable for those who aren't in a similar position to want to pull up stakes and go look for the greener grass. Maybe they won't find that grass, but at least it worth looking.

Hey Laura! Glad your Grandpa is back home. Good news. I’m a grandpa myself, so we look out for each other.
I’ve never been on a farm that raised animals. The only animals on my uncles farm were a few cows, a pig, some chickens and a couple horses. Never worked with a herd.
If I had my life to live over, it would be to live on a large farm like yours. Working with your dad and family is such a great way to live. I lived in the city and suburbs all my life. Spent summers in my uncle’s farm as a kid. I’d gladly trade for your lifestyle.
BTW, you looked pretty good on that horse!
God is Good!! I grew up going out to Kansas every couple of years to visit family in the Northern Central part of the state. I have always had this romantic view of the mid-west, and every video you share (when you are home) takes me back to my childhood visiting family, the slower pace, the nice genuine people that lived in that part of the country. My family does not farm, but the small town that my mom's side of the family comes from is a town of about 200 or so people and is surrounded by farm land as far as the eye can see. I wish I could give my kids that environment to grow up in, as opposed to living in Virginia, just outside of DC. I'm sure you can imagine the craziness that is the East Coast... We have been praying for your Grandpa to heal and come home, and we rejoice with you in the answer to prays in Grandpa Curt coming home today.

Home is home. Thank you for sharing. It is great that your grandpa is home today. The lawn greetings are indeed special. Enjoy your time together and take time to listen to his stories. It will be good for all of you to spend special times together. Cattle can be unpredictable. I once had a steer running towards me at full speed in a 20 foot wide connector. I clapped my hands just at the last moment and the steer turned 90 degrees and ran at a three strand barbed wire fence. The wire broke like nothing was there. My uncle did not say too much right at the time. Later he said, "That could have been interesting." . . . that's for sure.

Beautiful day calves went well papa home farm cleaned up 70 degrees outside great.
Now ya doing my wheel house of ranching. Love the work with horses and cows. We had quarter horses and dogs to work ours.

Thank you, Laura, for sharing your cattle operation! We do some things differently, but we are very much the same as well! Us girls just weaned and vaccinated our calves and brought our calves home. We calve to finish on our farm! So, a significant amount of our crop goes for fat cattle feed! We just published our working calves video a couple of weeks ago! Be careful out there with the cows!! Our oldest girl got kicked by a cow in the knee and tore her meniscus! We are sooo thankful that Papa Curt is recovering and made it back on the farm! We lost our Papa in 2020 to cancer, so we understand the emotions! So thankful you could feel the prayers sent your way! Thank you for keeping it real and sharing the farm life as well as family life! Blessings!

That is a pretty sweet set-up you have there for working cattle. Having that sweep go to either the loading chute or the squeeze chute is brilliant. I used to work on an Angus ranch in western Colorado and we had a nice Powder River system for working cows through the squeeze but our truck loading system was a little more of a rodeo than it needed to be.
Awesome news about Papa Curt, so great to hear! We love your channel from the state of Michigan. We need farmers more than ever and you should be proud of what you all are doing, Thank You! BTW i grew up in a small farm town (St. Johns) 5000 people back in the day and most of my friends had farms and I spent a lot of time helping out. HARD WORK!!!!. Good to hear you appreciate and being cautious around the cattle. My grandfather many years ago had an incident where a cow kicked a gate open knocked my grandfather down. Ended up breaking his neck. He had to weat the metal Halo for 2 months. Fortunately he wasn't paralyzed or worse. Great video.

All the cows and calves part was so very interesting, but the part that was the best was the fact that Papa Curt is home and to hear Laura talk about her life and family. You can see it in her eyes and hear it in her voice.

This was one of your best videos, nice change working with livestock. Growing up on the farm in the 70's every farm had livestock. Farmers did whatever they had to do to survive. I only know of a couple farmers that have livestock now.
