Laura you should get a clear face shield to wear along with your safety glasses to protect your eyes from getting sparks in them. I was a Pipefitter for 40year and welded most of my career. Those sparks can and will sooner or later get around safety glasses. You only get one set of eyes. It's cheap insurance .
A welder where I work was grinding and the wheel shattered. A big chunk of it got stuck in his face shield. Without that face shield he would have been very grievously injured, possibly killed.
Had a similar thing happen as an aircraft factory router operator. Basically, the aircraft part is pinned to a large table, and, following a pattern on top of the aluminum, the router trims off metal from around the outside of the part, as well as the inside. The router throws millions of slivers of aluminum, about the size of a typical wood sliver a person might get in their finger, and they go everywhere.
I had a group of them bounce up off my chest, hit the inside of my face shield, off the glasses, back off the face shield, off my forehead, off the inside of the glasses, and several splinters lodged in my eye. It was the weirdest thing, watching it happen like in slow motion.
They had to operate to remove them.
The company in Tulsa (now part of Boeing) tried to say I wasn't wearing protection. Several of my fellow employees testified that I was in fact wearing more protection than the rules required.
Love your new wireless microphones. It’s great to hear both of you clearly, even when not near the camera. Fun to hear Grant while he was in the tractor and you filming outside and hear him start the tractor. Nice to see you improving the technology you are using to improve what we hear and see. Don’t stop your continued learning curve. ❤😊
👍😎✊
ok, Pepper was the star of this one. He's a character and loves to be involved in your lives. love it.
She. Pepper is a she. Otherwise, someone's got some 'spaining to do about that litter of kittens she had.
That makes more sense. thanks for the correction.@@tetedur377
Snowmobiling always fun !! Your going to have fun in Utah with matt !! Utah is one of my favorite places !!
i have been buging matt to invite you to the games so glad your going love your work
Enjoy the Of Road Games. I watch Matt and his channel. They are a great group of people and I know he will treat you well!
It's gonna warm up this week once I was by my uncle's farm in 1973 we. Were snowed in for a week from a snow storm even lost power
Grant you really need to come up to Montana and ride Cooke city with us sometime, 180 hp turbo!!!
aw sounds normal day in northwest Montana and I told everyone it was coming but now believe me but now warmer weather is coming
Thats awesome you are going to be in Matts offroad games.
Glad you're participating in the Off Road Games with Matt's. I remember a lot of people suggesting you in the comments, me included. I think you'll do great.
Got a Boatload of snow coming at us Mid Michigan. You’re never can say that you’re snowed when you have snowmobiles
Ill feel safe believing you have a lawn/ leaf blower there. You should have used the blower to get the snow off the mower before bringing it in the shop.
such a great american dream story two young people farming the land and progressing in life together and the respect you have for each other is so nice grant treats you as an equal in every way possible even makes you start your own snow mobile
Just as primer protects the steel, helmets protect the noggin! You have a large and well earned viewership...great opportunity to set a good example!
Have fun kiddos 14:52
i really enjoy watching ur videos🥰
You guys should look at getting a blower for the back of the loader tractor if you dont have one yet
Only way to get around in upstate NY. Have Fun before it all melts.
Love the new mics, sounds great and like to hear Grant in the cab as you film. About time he does something around there. lol
We are repairing a JD 6810. It has done the head gasket. The head needs pressure testing and probably a skim.
It was cold here in North Florida! Down in the mid 20s! No snow though! Paint it yellow
The exterior video with Grant wearing the wireless mic is a really neat idea!
I agree. The bluetooth microphone makes your videos so much better.
Muito bom uma neve, aqui no Brasil não tem.
I was one of your followers that recommended you 7 Grant to Matt’s Off Road for this years wrecker games. Please have a great time and enjoy the really great folks there!!
You will definitely need that moisture in your dry spots on your fields.
Bet you got some riding done with all that snow Laura is grant okay 😜
The audio is so much better! Pepper is the greatest!
Awesome! I am thrilled beyond words that you are going to the Off Road Games. Matt, his family and team are some of the greatest people.
They help each other a lot which is fantastic. Yet even more so one of their missions is to help all sorts of people. They are very community mined, and do a lot of work for their own and neighboring communities. Their hearts are as big as the part of the country that they live in.
I think that you will have a blast. It seems to be contradictory to say that at times you have to baby the throttle, then at times you have to hammer it to the floor. Don't worry though, that's what their vehicles are made for.
You are going to see some magnificent scenery. You are going to do things on 4 wheels that are going to astound you. Keep you hands and arms inside the vehicle.
Matt and the whole group of other competitors will take care of you. They want you to have fun, but safety is important also.
Go enjoy, and scream your head off.
I will be doing my best to be there.
That's awesome 👌
Have never ridden a snowmobile, living in Florida and Central Maryland, however, I have raced snowmobile power formula cars for the past 35 years. Currently have an engine that won't fire - and I have changed everything electrical on it. :(
Awesome! We ride hard here in Northern Maine - Quebec!! 🇺🇲
Snowmobiles are so FUN!! I used to race. But why no heated helmets? You can see better, stay protected, and a lot warmer as well. It’s super comfortable. And when you’re comfortable all the other things you mentioned are a non-issue. Highly recommend.
Snow like that is when you flex on your friends, ride your sleds to town for lunch!! Nice video..
Awesome video 👏 Ya'll got it goin on. Stay strong in Jesus🙏
It was cold in Iowa -30 ish a few days now it's +30 looks like you got more snow .
Really enjoyed this video. Love you two.
Tippy is farming on a sidehill that will make you fill your trousers.
Out West in Oregon is
Where ran in the 90s in the high Cascades Mount I bought my sled from Mount Hood Polaris and it had been the owners sled so it had some real modifications but I learned real quick you wanted to wear a helmet and you wanted that full face because it sure made the right even so I lived in Portland Oregon it was a great place to sled but I also went to Yellowstone in January and only wow is that something to see the sledding outside the park was fantastic it's just something that's worth doing because it's a lot of time something a lot of people don't I've been to Yellowstone in the spring is something to see also but the sledding is there's something really fun about going through the town of West Yellowstone on a snowmobile and not have to worry about getting a ticket enjoy the sledding and have a lot of fun when I did it it cost me $1,200 bucks and it was for 10 days and that included my sled rental and my hotel stay suit everything it was all inclusive and it was fantastic and that was just with a little 550 fan cooled 🤠🥰😎🤠 I sure do miss it now can't do it anymore but you go have fun 🤠🥰🤠
Paint color? Yellow to restore and black trim and/or pinstrip to make your theme special.
Nebraska heck no, I'll stay in my Colorado mountains 😊
You got Northern Minnesota's snow and cold. It's late Jan here and I can still see grass all over the yard.
I hope it lasts until Monday I have some medical equipment coming that can't make it through snow.
A helmet and warm boots seem to be needed. Becareful, things happen very fast on a snowmobile. In Minnesota where I live, we have a 50 mph speed limit. There are thousands of miles of trails for snowmobiles. Watch for telephone poles and guy wires as well as culverts for roads. Have fun.
Hey Laura cant wait to see you at Matt offroad wrecker games this season am a follower for both of you keep going Sis warmest greetings from Kenya east africa .
Calling you a handy is an understatement! Laura you are amazing! Keep being you!
I'm sad NB has snow and here in the southern half of MN the grass hasn't been fully covered this winter yet.
Make sure to make stencils for the scraper labels, so you can make it look original.
Hi Howes diesel fuel additive works really good for gel prevention plus helps clean injectors snowmobiling looks like hell of a lotta fun 👍✌️❤️
I really enjoy watching your videos. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PUT ON HELMETS!!! It would be absolutely devastating if you were not able to continue doing what you love or something worse. My son raced Snocross and I have been riding my entire life. I have seen so many lives saved by a helmet. It was fun seeing you do something besides work! Love from Minnesota!
Hydraulic cylinders are super easy to rebuild, u can do it, u have the tools, and u are smart enough to do it, they come apart at the nd that the ram comes out, pull ram out, u figgure out the rest
that will be fun Laura
Ditto on the helmets! And fences are hard to see at dusk!
Good morning Laura sister and my brother God bless you
Laura and Grant and Pepper I just ordered a Laura Farms hoodie. I am so excited to receive it. I truly enjoy your channel. You folks knock it out of the park every time thank you so much for doing what you do. It’s truly inspirational to me now I’m a 60 year-old man. Who’s had two heart attacks one stroke and I’m still alive and kicking thank you to the blessing of my amazing wife Kim. Look forward to getting my hoodie. Thank you for what you do.
Happy New Year.Very Lovely & Interesting Video.❤❤❤
Hi Laura and Grant
I’m from Minnesota so I see snowmobiles everywhere
Looking good be safe wear a helmet y'all have fun now you here🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😎😎😎🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
When you’re looking for cutting edges for like your box blade, check with your county highway department or the nearest big city. I’m a city employee in Iowa and we have several graders that we change the cutting edges on almost every snow event. They will probably give you the used edges. Ours just end up in the scrap metal bin. They’ll last a very long time on your box blade.
The temp was -49C here the morning of the 12th of January 8:30 AM... 3 super cold days...Way too cold to sled... And yes we farm here.... Northern Alberta... When it warms up!
Nice video , thanks
I wish we had that much snow up here in ND to ride snowmobiling
Like the new 🎤. Thank you for sharing
Holey hecka dingleberry that's epic, at least you got the big teddy 🧸 Grant and the smoochy Pepper to keep you warm, New Zealand Southern hemisphere were struggling with 30 degrees heat and sweating rolling with it...have fun keep safe and continue to share entertaining content...with love ❤️ from New Zealand 😊😊
Doing a good job on things. Enjoy snowmobile riding
Original color on the scraper, would be my suggestion.
I am really enjoying your restorations.
Also, I like it that both you and Grant are mic’d up. It makes it so much easier to hear both of you.
Great job 👏
The box scrapper yellow with red flamer
You GO girl and enjoy the off-road games! I'll be rooting for you🎉
And I'll be watching, from home
Really like the microphones. When on the sled, sit down and get your feet forward, up into the footwells. there are bars in the top of the footwells you can roll you toes up under and lock you feet in, gives you a really firm grip on the machine but very easy to get your feet out when you want to.
Laura, learned something this morning about John Deere. He was born here in VT in 1804. I didn't know that. Happy winter.
I remember the blizzard that hit the great lakes states in 1978. Some people were snowed in for almost two weeks. We have lots of people born in 1979 with their birthdays about the same time.
I remember it well🎶‼️
Was this one the one in Michigan? Remember my dad talking about back then. Just don’t remember the years on.
@@kevink4914 Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, even eastern Missouri. Snow drifts so tall they couldn't plow through them. They cleared the roads with massive wheel loaders.
It sounds like the same one that hit Boston. I just heard the my half Uncle left his car in the driveway till Spring. Wasn't able to dig it out.
I am in NH, and We got the same blizzard.
Laura, I only watch two TH-cam channels- yours and Matt's! I am excited about you competing in the off-road games! Both of your channels display greatness at what you do and family values. I can't wait to see you off-road. Grant is going to love it, too!
just a little tip, any time you go air born do not hit the brakes in the air, you;ll nose dive hit the brakes if you have to after yo land
Nice job removing snow the snow angle is preferred Your angle always
One of the most important pieces of equipment to have on any farm or ranch (and for a lot of other places, too) is a 4WD backhoe. Where I used to live, where AVERAGE annual snowfall was about 9 FEET, I was fortunate to have a neighbor who owned a 4WD backhoe. If snow got too deep for my heady duty snowblower (the snowblower could not throw the snow over the snowbanks when the snow depth was over 5 feet deep on the level), he would come over and dig out my driveway and paths to things like my firewood pile. The backhoe is so handy because it can use both its front bucket or backhoe attachment to move snow, and can use either or both to extricate itself if it gets stuck. If you don't already have one on your farm (I suspect that you do), then that would be a good addition to your "smaller" equipment collection.
It was a though. But I do agree with you on the snowblower system. If you don't need or use it that much then I can see your point. Make due with what you have & don't buy stuff you don't need or use etc. And with the cost of stuff there's days. You can't afford a lot. So you have to make due with what you have. Understand able !!!! But still enjoy your videos a great deal. It reminds me of my childhood at my Grandparents house !!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Oh also Laura is funny with her comments ...what a great team you guys have!!!!
Keep up the good work
I think y’all need to get a big snowblower attachment for the tractors
Sounds like the blizzard of 78 in Michigan -60 below wind chill
You should wear a respirator when spraying oil paints like that. That stuff will mess up your lungs and if you do it too often your brain too.
shoot 12 inches and 30 below is just above a flurry. Brule WI
Ok I work farm's.. you have nice j d tractor's why don't you have a 3 point hitch snow blower. Much much easier. I do enjoy your video's.👍👍🙏
I had nominated you for the ORG; I am sure thousands of other subscribers did likewise.
Springtime hint for you, plant more trees , pines , hemlocks, cedars ...
If we look hard we can find 4" on the ground in mid Minnesota.
The New 🎤 microphones are working great! Thanks for adding them.
Great video 👍👍
Laura, please wear a helmet don’t want you to get hurt any takes a second to put one on. Please be safe out there. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year’s again be safe wear a helmet.😊😊😊😊
You'll enjoy the off road games. Matt & his whole crew are good people, plus You'll meet some off road friends of his.
Yes, the weather in Hurricane/St George is warmer, in March it shouldn't be too bad 😊
I actually live in Nebraska, have my whole life. I've been driving a truck for over 32 years, so I've been all over & know the state of Utah well
Out on the ski doos!!!
Laura glad to see you got your self dug out. Real winter weather.
Put a helmet on riding sled no question even going slow. It also a lot warmer.
Sorry to hear that,😊
this week couple of 35/36 deg C at home. Nthn East Australia cyclone, Nthn Aust cyclone, Nth West Australia heat waves 40 to 45 C, going to lower West Australia Sth Aust, New South Wales etc.
Nthn areas humid, Sthn area dry heat so much better.
Not sure if your cold or the heat is best
Ride safe stay warm 😊
I know what you mean about the tippy tractor. I dig graves and some of our cemeteries are very hilly. We have a john deere 315 D with a European style rear end and a Kaboda M36. The slightest little bit of tip and I freak out. In my defense, I have rolled over a tractor before so I am now very cautious and freak out easily if the tractor starts going sideways at all. 😬
Great video, as always! Good to see you guys and Pepper having fun. You will have a blast in Utah with Matt and the gang! We will be watching.
Glad you got some snow
In 77 and 78 blizzards on the farm I could jump out of the second Storey window into the snowdrift next to my house. we put a rope between the buildings and home to follow from door to door to not get lost. the windchill was at 80 to 90 below then. the 4220 rode on tope over 10-foot-tall snowdrifts but the 8330 with the blade on the front took us all day to clean the drive out and we helped the road commissioner get the grader out that was buried. 3 miles from the house 3 other families and their big tractors we all worked together just to get the roads open. that dry packed snow tell Grand to hit it with a little speed or take the back blade and chop it down a few feet at a time and break it up to move it .just trust me on that note thanks for every thing.
