- Donald Trump's promised crackdown on irregular migration has sparked controversy halfway around the world, in India. Images of Indian deportees being flown in a US military aircraft with their hands and feet bound prompted opposition lawmakers to demand an explanation. The issue has erupted just as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to meet with Trump to improve relations with the US.

do not enter US without visa ,A valid visa is required for all US citizens traveling to India, regardless of the purpose of travel.

Don't wanna waste our tax money on this.
Our tax money should only go to politicians wallets
This is a wastage of money

Isn't India deporting Bengali's and other minorities from neighboring countries OR they think this only apply to USA. They made themselves suffer and humiliate on the way to US and wouldn't leave voluntarily.

How do they treat them? I don't think they deported millions of afghans like pakistan

Criminals don't get human rights, and foreigners don't get citizens rights.
Is really skyward simple. If you want your rights, obey the law. Law is what creates your precious rights.
Criminals are criminals, treated like criminals for harming the nation they were in.
If you are so anti-criminal, why did you vote for Trump?

Were they in the US illegally? I’m from Ireland, I have lived in other countries……legally. It isn’t that hard. If any of my Irish brothers and sisters are in countries illegally, I would expect them to be deported. If that means in chains (because they performed an illegal act) then so be it. Might make sure they do not reoffend. If you can’t live in a country legally you should probably start taking a look at why that might be. And before anyone kicks off, no it is not racism in remand we have imported a lot of foreigners who are NOT working. They have come to live off the state, which means. Tax payer money which is meant to be used to improve the living conditions of the people who pay said tax money
Do you feel people should be chained for parking tickets?

An explanation to those not from India-
The opposition's job is to just pick up any issues that they can find to , they really don't give a f. All politicians send their children to elite universities abroad, their wealth completely insulates them from this. It's all part of political theatre
Trump & Modi have good relations and Trump campaigns for the Indian-American vote. Those who vote for Trump tend to also support Modi and his ilk. They're now on a mission to save face because Modi has built this(nationalism) image of what the perception of India is on the world stage- as a well-respected formidable superpower
No one cares about the indignity that those on the planes faced. The indignity faced in India is 10x worse, whether from the police, the government, schools, infrastructure,.......
Understood! But we are going to be outspoken and defend this situation.
Not only are the shackles on military planes cruelly disrespectful, but they are also wastefully expensive.

Trump and Modi, two faces of the same coin. Now we just need to pull the popcorn out of the shelf, and see how two nationalists deal with their same ideas but different origins. It’s going to be fun these years watching all the extreme right leaders have to deal with each other.
Irregular migration? Is that the new term for illegal immigration?
Illegal = breaking the law
But it's not always criminal, there are three aspects of "illegality"
Administrative = which immigration offenses fall under, requiring only administrative proceedings
Civil = minimum requirement would be prepoderance of evidence, requires legal/judicial proceedings
Criminal = guilt beyond reasonable doubt, requires legal/judicial proceedings
Edit: added some procedural details for clarity 😊
Do you really think that any Trump (or Modi) supporter has enough brain cells to understand this?
The safety of the crews on those airplanes are most important. Do you want to fly at 35,000 in a situation with an airplane full of criminals?
Most Americans are products of multiple cultures and countries. They try to do best for USA and for the place where they came from. Trump father family came from Germany and mother from Scotland. Harris father was from Jamaica and mother from India. This is a unique place for hopeful and helpless. America is not isolated. USA enjoys influence all over the world through this vital connection. Only difference is arrival time.

As a world citizen I want to offer that this treatment by the U.S. government of Indian deportees should not be experienced as an embarrassment by Indians, but seen as inhumane by the U.S. government and condemned by all world citizens as absolutely unacceptable.
This world citizen deems it acceptable
In the USA and Canada, all people arrested, including citizens of these countries, are handcuffed. The outrage is in support of people who broke the law. I don't understand the outrage. Why are criminals supported and not law-abiding citizens in their countries? In my generation criminals were dealt with under the law and law-abiding citizens supported the law.

Misleading news. Its indian opposition not the government.
No one is taking this as serious news in India but news agencies are trying to overhype this.
How blind have you gone! Doesn't matter if anyone takes seriously or not. No injustice should go unanswered! The national poet has said:

Illegal entry to any country isnt acceptable
why are they sending out the peaceful people first and dont seem to be checking exactly who they are sending out .
Lol, Indian government pretty much said they were illegal immigrants and just opposition say it's bad😂😂😂.
You weren't listening properly. The opposition party also clearly stated that they were illegal immigrants and that they understood a strong response. The opposition is to the way in which it is conducted, not to the fact that it is happening. I understand that the Trump regime is using military planes for effect and to act as a deterrent, but those planes are not the most efficient and chartered flights as used under the Biden administration are likely far cheaper and less of a burden on the American tax payer. Of course, the average MAGA mob member doesn't realise that their taxes are paying for these flights.
They should be honoured to be able to take a military plane. Civilians do not get the opportunity to take those planes as if they're commercial. I am sure it's a good experience for the deportees.😊
Colonial behavior never leaves 💀
Indias target should to develop its cities into livable, employment providing metropolitans... opportunities during developing its cities itself will provide lot of jobs to its people
It's a security risk if you don't properly secure the transfer of deportees, hmmm a good Idea, send a contracted charter flight paid by the Indian government or send an Indian Airlines to pick up the deported Indian passengers. Peace
Nothing better can be expected from USA
This is a very insulting move on the US Immagration. I support India. ✌🏻
If you have hundreds of lawbreakers on a plane and no more than ten security officers to monitor them, you must find a way to secure these undocumented immigrants. While I don’t condone the use of handcuffs and leg shackles, I understand that security jobs can be potentially very dangerous, and measures must be taken to ensure their safety.
Good
huhh!!, insult to indians when they commit a crime ? Don't understand , how can you say this? If the other religious groups which commit crime were treated this way, none would be objected
How should they deport people who breaks the law by entering and staying illegally putting garland in their necks
The ambassador should ask for coordination. If India objects to the military flights it could send its own aircraft to pick up the deportees. The way Colombia did.
Why should India send for criminals , they have broken the law . India is treating them some one who break the law so it’s not caring about them
