First of all you shouldn't call them red indians. Second of all we admitted to the atrocities that have occurred in our past. Currently the new Canadian gov is trying to rectify it. We still have thousands of indigenous groups living across Canada. The thing with china is that they don't admit or apologize for the atrocities they have done. They just ignore them and pretend they haven't happened. For example the Tiananmen Square massacre. China pretends that didn't happen.
I think foreign minister's response serves you well too because you obviously don't know truth, don't even want to spend time searching for truth. You just regurgitate what you like to hear. Do more research on the so called "Tiananmen square massacre" before you post any such accusation
Exactly. +BrothaJeff, why don't you start with a clip video from a Spanish press team? They were at the Tiananmen Square that night and retreating with the students - the clip was released 5 years after the incident. And do tell what kind of "massacre" you saw in there.
newjack I have researched Tiananmen square extensively. I know the truth about it. The truth is it happened and many Chinese students and soldiers unnecessarily lost their lives. Why does the Chinese government deny that it ever happened? Why don't they confront their mistakes? They pretend it didn't happen... China said that reports of the “massacre” in Tiananmen Square were a fabrication created both by Western media and by the protest leaders who used a willing Western media as a platform for an international propaganda campaign in their interests.
J Lam 300 people or more died that june. There is no way to tell really because the Chinese government tried to suppress it as soon as possible. But many eyewitness accounts describe the truth. Students and soldiers slaughtered but your government declares that it was not a massacre... HA Your leader says it didn't happen. And you follow him like a good little pet and listen to everything your government says and believe everything it says when the world really knows what happened.
Ahmadinejad speaks English. I saw a video of him doing it and it’s damn fluent. Yet he never replies to reporters using it. The traslatorr did a brilliant job , but i wish she did it in a tougher tone cos that's more true to what the foreign minister actually meant and said in Chinese.
@subash bist Nah foreign ministers are allowed to be passionate about their country. And if you're talking about how much growth Europe and America has given China, why not turn the other way and say the same of China to other nations? Walk out of China's door if you're not happy.
The interpreter did not translate every word of Wang Yi said . She missed the phrase of translation : " You (reporter) have no right to justify the human rights about China , only Chinese people who live in China who have the right to justify the human rights about China."
"Justify"? or Judge you mean? I dont think he said "justify". Anyway the reporter is entitled to ask anything she wants based on her own opinions. that's called freedom of speech, one of basic human rights. Instead it's a joke that Mr wang was trying to define what the reporter can or cannot ask.
Chinese people in the most part actually have hope in their future, and support their Gov... So this truthful translation actually reflect positively vs what the hypocrite journalist said.
James L Asking a strong question does not make a person a hypocrite. True hypocrites are people who cannot stand a question. To question is to doubt, to doubt is to desire reassurance. Politicians in the PRC really cannot accept even the lightest question of their power. That is from fear of the people, nothing else but fear. That is the smell of hypocrisy. "Everyone who agrees raise your hand."
As a Chinese, I want to make two points here. Firstly, China has indeed ignored human rights in many places I have been, and schools rarely teach us those things. Secondly, a country's economic development can not be the measurement of its human rights, it is completely nonsense and I have heard China's diplomats use it several times as an excuse to hide its ongoing human rights issues.
Human rights are universally recognized moral principles or norms that establish standards of human behavior and are often protected by both national and international laws. These rights are considered inherent and inalienable, meaning they belong to every individual simply by virtue of being human, regardless of characteristics like nationality, ethnicity, religion, or socio-economic status. They encompass a broad range of civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights, such as the right to life, freedom of expression, protection against enslavement, and right to education.
Scrotum Monster This is what I meant. Such low energy people. Aren’t y’all tired of just being a puppet of America? Political correctness and lack of stamina killed your country, I feel sorry for you.
@Mwaniki Mwaniki For me, it sounds more badass and true to their roots, proud of their heritage regardless of what others say and caring only for the opinion of those that matters, which is, and should always be, a leader's own people and own nation. So when a leader speaks in his mother tongue, it goes to show that he has solidarity about him, and that for me, is far more important than morality or idealism or any of that abstract stuff. Besides, some languages sounds way better and awesome than English. Examples are Mandarin, Japanese, German, Russian, Spanish, Polish, Greek, and Turkish.
I'm rewriting two years later. All he had to do was answer the question. Accusing someone of arrogance and indirectly accusing them of ignorance is Ad Hominem. Address the question, don't attack character, it doesn't follow logically. Also, it could seem like you're avoiding the question, which may then raise suspicions. Not so great for a foreign minister.
I’m guessing this is the first time you’ve heard a Chinese foreign minister speak. They always dodge questions about human rights and freedom of speech. Watch Victor Gao’s interview with Mehdi Hasan. Mehdi asks very direct questions about these things and he dodges every time.

Foreign Wangyi should have asked the lady about Catholic boarding school Canadian ill treatment of red Indian children that led to over a thousand dead and buried in church compound in Canada, what has transpired? Anybody in Canadian gov apologised, that responsibility and resigned or fired?
China 🇨🇳 🇨🇳!!! proud Chinese Canadian originally born in hong kong. Grew up in Canada. Why shouldn't Canada have a better relationship with China? First of all there is a huge Chinese Canadian population in Canada. I lived my life traveling back and forth between the two countries. If you ask me from my own experiences. The average person in China seems happier then most Canadians I see on the streets of Toronto. They have hope and see a bright future for China and their lives. Yes some people spit on the ground and what Canadians consider to be manners, people in China lacks, but cultural difference plays into that too. Flagging down a server in a restaurant is normal in China (or Chinese Canadian restaurants) but consider rude in Canada. Canadians and Americans, basically the West, sees freedom and human rights as their core value. The West is build on Independence and individualism. China sees unity and family values as its core but that doesn't mean they don't have freedom and rights in China. People just don't care about it as much and it's not their first priority. The best way to exercise human right and freedom is to rise the standard of living of the people. Wealth and development is more practical and effective in giving more freedom to people. Look at the natives, the first Nation in Canada. You can give them the freedom to vote and freedom of expression and speech but other then voting can they really experience the freedoms given to them fully? They don't even have enough gas money to drive out of the native reserves. Some don't even have running water or electricity in their homes. Is that a way to even live in a first world country like Canada? How much freedom do they really have compared to a rural Chinese person who have been lifted out of poverty? Who found a decent job and can now save enough money for a cross country bullet train trip to Hong Kong with their family. And yes China has build a vast network of bullet trains that spans the country build only under 10 years. Talking about 10s of thousands of kms of tracks. Even connecting rural China, places like Tibet, to the rest of China.
Chinese are only 5% of the population, and not all of them are Canadian citizens. " Why shouldn't Canada have a better relationship with China?" Ya, no. No relationships with dictatorships that have active concentration camps. China is an economic bubble thats going to pop spectacularly any day. Canada should not be tied with that.
@@ericcartmann that's old misconception of China. Justin Trudeau dad, the late PM, was friends with the Cuban dictator back in the 70s. The American economy is already collapsing. Lots of doomsday sayers on the collapse of China. Haters even wrote books about "the coming collapse of China". As being a Chinese, I totally admit that China has many shortcomings in terms of human rights and democracy. But I also want to say, things are getting better and the country is running on the right track now. I doubt if the journalist who raised this question knows the history of modern China, not mention the historical evolution of this country for thousands of years. I have found that the sinologists in western countries hold a more objective and moderate attitude towards China than politicians and journalists. I believe, the better knowledge about China a person has, the less prejudiced and arrogrant he/she is.
Chinese economic development has progressed due to millions of hardworking Chinese people. It is not a miracle performed by the ruling elites. The Chinese history shows nothing but the ruling class need to give the power and freedom to the people and let them go do their thing and be themselves. then the result is prosperity. Chinese are never given such opportunity. Those questions were not for Minister Wang. But he himself rather felt the urge to intimidate the journalist, in order to scare away others like her who like to raise painful questions in the future. I have to say what a failed attempt. In a free society like Canada he didn't scare nobody. I overestimated him. I thought he should know how free society functions.
Interestingly, making the other side not know more is perhaps, also a strategy. Rather than burying them with information, swarm them with questions to cast self-doubt and weaken their confidence to continue on such topics.
It is a very important principle for every Chinese citizen that we do not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, and we will not go against this principle even when the debating scene is conducive to counter the remarks of the other side

Serve them right. There is no human rights problem in USA or Canada because they had eliminate all the Red Indians and nobody left to complaint.
I actually like the fact that the minister know English but did not use English to respond!!!
Understanding is easier than speaking
Ahmadinejad speaks English. I saw a video of him doing it and it’s damn fluent. Yet he never replies to reporters using it. Sometimes I do feel that many world leaders and important figures who do understand English just choose to speak to the media using their own languages. The interpreter did not translate every word of Wang Yi said . She missed the phrase of translation : " You (reporter) have no right to justify the human rights about China , only Chinese people who live in China who have the right to justify the human rights about China."
That makes it even worse, not better. Human rights are human, after all.
"Justify"? or Judge you mean? I dont think he said "justify". Anyway the reporter is entitled to ask anything she wants based on her own opinions. that's called freedom of speech, one of basic human rights. Instead it's a joke that Mr wang was trying to define what the reporter can or cannot ask.
Yeah except Chinese people are the last ones who can justify rights in China.
She is good and fast in translating. There is pause, but she is quick to come out with the correct words.

" Why shouldn't Canada have a better relationship with China?"
Ya, no. No relationships with dictatorships that have active concentration camps. China is an economic bubble thats going to pop spectacularly any day. Canada should not be tied with that.

The American economy is already collapsing. China and India are the future. It's projected that China will be, if not ready, the world largest economy. India will be the 2nd by 2050, if not earlier, over taking the US as well.
Lots of doomsday sayers on the collapse of China. Haters even wrote books about "the coming collapse of China". That was in 2006 I think when it was published. 12 years on China is still here and never better.
Don't discriminate. Appreciate and accept.
@@ericcartmann active concentration camps? You referring to places like Guam? We also should not be allies with countries that occupy and invade the middle East. And Torture people with water boarding?

my hats off to the translator, she is 100% interpreting Wang's statement correctly. Much better than Xi's translator to Biden or Trudeau......
Can't agree more
Well said!
So the Chinese government is not run by Chinese?
The American government in run by Jewish for sure.
Interestingly, making the other side not know more is perhaps, also a strategy. Rather than burying them with information, swarm them with questions to cast self-doubt and weaken their confidence to continue on such topics.
Yup keep on showing the whole world their true face

It is a very important principle for every Chinese citizen that we do not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, and we will not go against this principle even when the debating scene is conducive to counter the remarks of the other side
Since Confucius days China’s policy to neighbours is to not interfere with their internal affairs.

So it is pointless to play whatabout with her.
Why? That's America little wang wang was in Canada
And South America or African or just ask them how they build USA or Canada lol

Because she doesn’t know what China is like, clearly based on nothing except a couple of things she may have found online. I’m in China right now and it feels just like being in a western country, but it’s much safer here. There’s too much misinformation out there about China and this journalist is just another one of those who spread false accusations and bs about China.
