- From buying a new car to calling 911! In today's video, I tell the story of buying my Acura RSX Type-S and how it went from good to bad REAL QUICK! It seems that every Honda I buy comes with a story, and this was no exception. Enjoy!
The Acura RSX Type S was always a high school dream car of mine! I tell the story of how I (almost) took one to Prom night but was ultimately let down. Thus leaving a void in that cool prom car experience. Many years later, I finally got to buy the car I've always wanted to own! After deciding to sell my Honda CRZ, I knew the RSX Type S (Honda Integra) was a car that I would want for myself and the channel. After selling a Honda CRV cluster to a local Honda guy, he found this Type S on Craigslist and sent it my way.
Buying an enthusiasts Honda can always be a hit or miss thing. Finding a good Honda that hasn't been beat up or poorly modified is hard enough. But finding one in Idaho is even harder. I tell you guys the story of my buying experience, the type of person I bought it from, and the price I paid. Overall, I think I made out pretty well in the purchase and I was on cloud 9!
Without even 5 minutes passing of buying the car, I was on the phone with 911 after an elderly man was thrown from his e-bike. My first time calling 911 and my first time seeing a blow to the head that bad. Needless to say, it wasn't how I envisioned my first few moments of owning the car. But the show must go on!
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the story for better or for worse. I thought it was worth telling so you could put yourself in my shoes for a minute haha. From here, it's time to start my fixes and mods on the RSX. I can't wait!

Dude backstory is hilarious and okay still be a little salty about it. I’m still a little upset about my first car at 16. I got an 03 RSX, base model but it was mine and my dad and I wouldn’t have to share a car anymore. I saved up for the down payment and was so excited the day I drove it home. Washed it, cleaned inside and drove it all around town. Two weeks later the dealership (mom / pop shop), called and said there was some mix up in paperwork and they needed the car back. At this point I had put 1000 miles onto the car and was in love with it. My parents and them went back and forth a bit, but they ended up giving the car back and gave us our money back. I ended up getting a 03 Chevy Malibu a couple of days later 😅 that car ended up being the worst car I ever owned. Love my F150 now, but would love to still have that RSX.
Love the backstory! How wholesome would it be to contact your mom’s friend and let them take it for a spin when you’ve got it done up nicely, with you shotgun of course. You have other successes but this would show where your inspiration stemmed from.
Funny enough, I think she still has her RSX all these years later. I believe she moved though
bought my rsx at 16 before i got my license and have spent every last penny i’ve made into it. do i regret it? no, not at all. i love this car so much.

Congrats on the purchase, i sold my exact same 05 rsx in black for $7300 with 165k miles last yr in cali. Car was sold with rpf1 and new front suspension parts and new exedy clutch. Def a fun car, my engine was super healthy and always had gold oil even after 3k miles of driving. Only racked up 15k miles in 2yrs. Now i drive a v6 accord, much faster and saves more gas than the rsx did.
I always made fun of hondas then i gas prices went up and i found a pretty clean 99 civic lx 5 speed for a grand and i fell in love with it. Fun daily for sure, non vetec d16y7 slow as hell but i really dont care, my jeeps my toy anyway if i want power i drive that for that v8 thunder

I love my accord 1.5 sport hopefully I can get a 6 speed accord 2.0t someday because right now I can’t mod my accord exhaust because California have tight exhaust law so I want to put on hold Tesla is my next daily driver because it already fun and so I won’t get a ticket just because I’m cruising on nice California weather day.
I love my 07' EX Coupe handles like a dream for such a cheap little car.

Congrats man. I kind of know the feeling about finding a gem. In 2019, I actually found a 2009 civic si (not an RSX obviously) with 49k miles on it. One owner car, all maintenance done at honda, no accidents, all stock except for the radio. It cost me 10k. I thought that was a steal. I am going to try to keep it stock, but we'll see. I did put 18 inch HFP wheels on it though.
Watching your video and hearing this story took me back about a year when my wife passed out hit her head on the bed frame exposing her skull to but no blood hardly. That shook me and you took me back wow. Sorry you had to see that.

A car with an interesting story are always the most memorable to own! My grandmother had an early 90's Gold Acura Legend coupe I always admired which began my love of these luxury Honda's and the RSX was definitely a desirable car on my list later on.
I’m on my second RSX Type S. I had one when I was younger (2003) and regret ever trading it in. It was premium white pearl. It was modified and I had some of the best times in the car. Fast forward almost 20 years I picked up an 2003 redondo red with over 260k miles. It needs some love and care, but I love it! There’s nothing out there that looks and drives the way it does. Enjoy the car! I’m following your journey!

That was a great story and experience. hehe I got my _RSX Type-S 2002_ in blue, bought it last late December. Ever since I’ve been working on it here and there from bone stock. 😊 And even before I even bought it I have been watching your content. I must say I was also very lucky to find mine, as by the time it is like literally impossible to find a clean one without mods or whatever else. The leather seats are also in great conditions like yours. ☺️

This is awesome!! I’m almost done putting my 06 type s back together. Hopefully I’ll be driving it by the end of the week. Got it last year in dec only drove it for like a week before I took it apart ahaha. Traded my way to it. Kawasaki Vulcan s 650 paid 3k traded for a 01 4Runner then traded the 4Runner for the rsx.

At the peak of all the Hondas getting more expensive I bought my type s for 900$ bought it when it had 280k miles now it has 307k :) Ive already accomplished my dream car the euphoria of being in it is real

Hell yeah! I just bought a 2008 acura tsx 6mt with 109k. A bit heavier than the rsx but with a couple of mods it's opened it up to be such a fun car 😁congratulations on your rsx type s!

Love the backstory! Ive had my 2004 Acura TL since 2004 its a 6speed 130k Miles , love the car couldn't imagine selling it. I am looking to get a RSX type S in the future! have fun with yours, they are great cars!

Pick up my 06 type s last November unexpectedly from a family member. It was my high school dream car also but never got one until now.
Great story I was waiting for the AlldayAnthonyness of it lol. The purchase was undramatic...unlike your others but man the old man at the end...damn. I was like there it is. Great deal on the car, truly an awesome car. As always looking forward on the RSX contents. Sad to see the CR-Z go but the RSX will be more fun for sure.

I got an 04 with 170ish miles on it, one owner and garage kept. The seats had rups and a little rust on the rear drivers side wheel well. I love that car so much but its driving me nuts at the same time because there is a clunk coming from the rear no one can track down.
Dude i wanna ready my car up. 97 CD9 Accord and i wanna make it look nice for my prom. Needs the hood and parts of the fender repainted but other then that its clean

I had a old man run his stop right my truck and trailer. He survived and no real harm done, but this one lady tried to ruin my life. This was asking the old man what happened giving lie after lie he could have grasped but he was so out of it he couldn't think about anything coherently. But not being yet 25 already has my insurance crazy high if my insurance gave me any points on my insurance my career would have ended right there. I can't afford an extra 1k each month for 3 years that's 36k not to mention insurance is around 1k right now anyways

It’s situational. If I’m going to look at a 1k civic, I’m going to assume there’s no records. But if I’m looking at a stock RSX, I’m probably going to ask. I do my own stuff, but I at least write down what I’ve done. Helps me keep track

I'm a delivery driver in Idaho. One time I parked my truck in front of a house while two kids were riding their bikes on the sidewalk. Literally 2 seconds after I put the truck in park, one of the little kids lost his balance and fell in the street and started crying like 10 feet in front of my truck.
INSTANTLY neighbors started evil eyeing me and accused me of hitting the kid and I had to rely on the word of a 6 year old girl to prove my innocence (which she did) so I know the feeling of getting accused lol

I never even thought of what vehicle to drive to prom. Originally, me and a bunch of friends were going to take a limo and go as a group, not specifically to take dates. One by one, they all dropped out and none of us went. Saved $60 on entry, plus tux rental.
If I had gone on my own, I probably would have been able to take my mom's C6 Corvette. Oh, well, it doesn't matter anyway. Don't live with regrets.

god watching this makes me hate myself for selling My RSX-S but i owned it for about 10 years and it had like 260k miles and was just time for her to go to a new home... hoping she is still running and sounding amazing.... but over the last couple years i have been kicking myself for selling it cause it was a awesome car.... and just the fact they only made them for a limited time... i would love to get another one some day but with the way car prices are and like i just said this car starting to be rare.... i only see the price of this car going up and up especially if you keep it nice looking

For the condition of the car, she charged you a reasonable price. any used car dealership would've asked somewhere around 10 or 11 grand for it. remember it is an Acura, the luxury version of Honda, and Acura is priced higher than any Honda.

I got lucky buying my stock 02 type s for $3200. That was in 2020 before prices started really rising cause everyone saw the new Integra lol. Can't wait to see what's to come for the dc5 💪🏽
