I really like that you show these live experimentations! It really encourages me to have a go too! A refreshing change from some channels where you just know every brushstroke is rehearsed! Thank you!
Thank you for the demonstration! I saw this medium last week for the first time and was very curious about it, so your video came in perfectly on time for me :)
Yes thats true! I think there are many possibilities using this medium. I think I will make another video using this again. Thank you for your support!
Really beautiful! I love the conveyance of perspective in your compositions and the colours, with the extra depth of the Aquapasto is so effective. Am just popping out of a haircut and the art store is opposite so Aquapasto is coming home with me today 😆. Thanks for the inspo x
Oh my!.how gorgeous your water color paintings are, I love these abstracts you made with the new medium. I'll have to give it a go. Thank you so much for sharing these lovely soft abstracts.
Thank you! I am fairly sure the answer is no since you wouldnt be able to move the gouache around in the same way. It also makes the paint a little more shiny and gouache is very matt. You can however add aquapasto to gouache. Maybe a comparison would be interesting!
For something like this I would use a watercolour paper. For this I used Archers cold pressed fine grain. But any good quality watercolour paper would do (though I wouldnt use anything with a rough texture). Even a good quality sketch book made for watercolours could work. For other mixed media I have in the past used a specialist mixed media paper (it was made from bamboo I think). I found it great for the pastels I used but the watercolour did not go on quite so well. Hope this helps! 😊
Hello, there is a difference. You could use acrylic in a similar way. I use watercolour because I prefer to stick to watercolour as a medium. There is more info in this video about aquapasto. See link here. Thank you! th-cam.com/video/MZMZ3gp5SyM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wpkJh7dNIl3nUx0r
Yes I can look out this information over the next few days. I brought them from a framer who was selling on ebay. Its a custom size. The outside is 8” x 10”. Can I check where you are? Are you in the UK? I am not sure about delivery but he is in the UK.
Gouache even if used thick is a different texture. You can not so easily make marks in my experience and also it is matt whereas the aquapasto adds gloss. You can also add aquapasto to gouache.
Thank you for this lovely demo. Do you find aquapasto easy to clean up? Some ppl say it dries very hard if not cleaned properly and ruins the brush. Is this true?
Thank you very much. I have not had any problems with clean up at all. But I always clean my brushes very carefully so they never sit for long with paint on them. I am also using synthetic watercolour brushes with the aquapasto not natural hair brushes. I am not sure if this makes a difference.
Yes! You definitely can. I also have used it much thinner. So I added a small amount to very watery watercolour. I applied the paint in washes and it just changed the consistency of the paint. So you can experiment with paint/ paint/ aquapasto ratios..
Not exactly like gouache but yes there are similarities. However, I found it easier to scratch marks into the aquapasto mix. Also, my mix was opaque since I added titanium white. However, if you do not add white then the mix of aquapasto and watercolour would retain its translucency :)
I'm encouraged to try this by your very relaxed attitude and beautiful results.
That is great to hear! I hope it goes well 😊
These are so gorgeous I can’t wait to try this as well. Thank you for sharing!💕

Thank you I am sorry glad :)

Thats great! I was excited to find it. I hope you get on well with it! Thank you for your comment.
Did anyone else see the potential for an abstract pastel butterfly? Of course, the potential options are endless. Looks splendid!

Thank you!!! so beautiful and yes, please keep them coming. Your vids really inspire me!! 🤩

These paintings reminded me of sunrises or sunsets 😊, Gorgeous
Thank you ☺️
Love what you did with the new medium! Nice work! Thanks for the info and demonstration.
Thank you 😊 I am so glad that it was interesting and helpful for you!
Thank you - something new to try - enjoyed your demo, and beautiful paintings.
Yes! I am glad you found something new, thinking about it I can not believe I did not know about aquapasto before!. Good luck experimenting :)
Thank you. These are fabulous. ❤
Thank you so much 😊
These are gorgeous and really come to life when you put the frame around them! ❤
Thank you so much! Yes its great to have a few frames about to see what things look like cropped 😊
Can't wait to try it out 😊
Brilliant, good luck and get back to me in comments about how you get on if you can :)
Lovely demonstration and the outcome was amazing ❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊 ❤️
Absolutely beautiful. It looks so simple, but I guess it is not. I try it anyway. ❤
Hello! In my experience simple sometimes works out great and other times I just cant get it right! Hope it goes well. Thank you for your comment 😊
That looked like fun...gonna try that too.
But will replace Arches with Baohong...😄
Thanks for the video.
Fantastic! I have not heard of Baohong..I will look it up 😊
wondering if one would get a similar effect with gouache? quite lovely
Thank you! I am fairly sure the answer is no since you wouldnt be able to move the gouache around in the same way. It also makes the paint a little more shiny and gouache is very matt. You can however add aquapasto to gouache. Maybe a comparison would be interesting!
I like very much your démonstration 🙂☺️ first time I heard about aquapasto ❤mixed with watercolor .thank you for sharing🎉😃
Oh thats great to hear! Glad it was helpful. Hope you get on well with it if you decide to give it a go 😊
@@annamabellaedgley ohhh yes I will 👍😊
@@annamabellaedgley what paper do you recommend for mixtes medias ( watercolors ,aquapasto ,inkt)?

@@annamabellaedgley bamboo 😊? The only paper that I know made with bamboo is from Hahnmühle
brilliant and inspiring
thank you for sharing
Thank you!
Zanimljivo poučno😊 hvala
Fantastic, thank you!
I'm liking these abstracts but sant see the benefit of the additive, could I use gauche or acrylic paint, or just straight from tube with watercolour?

Thank you really liked them. Can you tell me were to buy the mounts ? Thank you in advance.

So what's the difference between using this one and guache?

@@annamabellaedgley thanks for your quick reply. That's very helpful. Thank you!
I'm wondering if I can add Aquapasto to a puddle of watercolor not out of the tube?
Yes! You definitely can. I also have used it much thinner. So I added a small amount to very watery watercolour. I applied the paint in washes and it just changed the consistency of the paint. So you can experiment with paint/ paint/ aquapasto ratios..
Facinatibg, Rather like gouache?+

Also, I would say the drying times are slower with aquapasto and it has a sheen (rather than matt like gouache) once dried :)
@@annamabellaedgley Thanks Sounds appealing. :-)
Cold press is not rough grain. The three textures of watercolour paper made by Arches are hot press, cold press (NOT), and rough.
Yes! It was rough not cold pressed. Thanks for pointing out my error I might see if I can add some text to clarify on the video
