today i'll do my first half-marathon run under this album.. this is my all time favorite music/composition of my all time favorite album from my all time favorite band.. please do more TOOL.. spiral out !!
To me this song (whole album) is about his feelings about getting old, and this song speaks to me of the tendency of us older folks to succumb to gravity of apathy, laziness and basically giving up. Physically, mentally and even emotionally we tend to stagnate as we get older and this is a call to action, lest we cease to be. Glad you liked it!
@@randomsasquatchwithwifi4090That’s really interesting. I tend to interpret it as just a general call for us to not destroy ourselves - or let ourselves get destroyed. I mean, let’s be honest, things aren’t going well - we are led by warmongering psychopaths.
You simply must check out the rest of their discography. All their music is phenomenal, they don’t have a bad song. In my opinion, their 3rd album, Lateralus, is their masterpiece but it’s all great.
Wanton, as in deliberate or unprovoked, not wonton lol. I love how you're paraphrasing the lyrics. Putting it your own way. Perhaps check out ¾s of Tool in Adam Jones' #TheWitness CGI video, featuring his limited edition Gibson Les Paul Starburst, laser scanned and replicated to perfection. (He personally sent one of them to Maya, a nine-year-old Indian guitarist who covers tool songs incredibly well)
Everything off Fear Innoculum ia a heavy listen to me. So interesting. Took a few times before I enjoyed. I always reco going back to the EP to hear how far they advanced. (Go back to "Jerk Off" to see what I mean. Congrats on your Tool journey so far!
It’s like you have to get to know the songs a little before they make sense. I’m not sure why that is. On first listen, I usually get hooked by something, but it all seems so foreign, that I’m not sure I like or love it. That gets me to listen again and then at some point, I “get it” and fall in love.
Yep, just four dudes. Four of the best musicians ever.
Actually, it's even more amazing in the last half; it's THREE dudes
Just saw them on Nov 6th. They dropped confetti onto the floor seats during Culling Voices. It was magical.
Dude, seriously though, Fear Innoculum is such a powerful album. F the haters, I love this album more than Dark Side.

You’re right on with your comments. Keep going just saw them on 11/11 they still have it. Danny Carey is in his 60s he’s still a beast
And a really really good engineer.

Interesting. I always kind of thought this was about climate change.

You know what….Lateralus had been my favorite album for 20 years, but I think FI is now my favorite. I did t think that was possible, but here we are.

Wanton - Deliberate and unprovoked
Do Pneuma next followed by Danny Carey's drum cam of Pneuma. Mind blowing talent.
Please check out the title track from this album
This is 3 musicians and an amazing singer . Maynard also has Puscifer and A perfect Circle as side projects that are just as good imo
I agree with all of that, minus the "just as"
Sorry, but nobody is just as good as TOOL :)
Falling isn't flying. Peace

Does ANYBODY hear “It’s” before “elementary”?
