I love this channel and I am truly grateful for everything you do to keep the legacy of boxing (not the for ratings spectacles, it’s about entertainment, all about the profit bullshit we’re deluged with these days, but the purest essence and soul of what boxing is) alive and accessible to anyone who cares enough to look. Keep making em and we’ll keep watching em!
Cus D'Amato had 3-different fighters that were "World Champions" using his peek-a-boo style to reach the pinnacle. All three men, in their prime, had fast hands, great head movement, and could throw punches in bunches. The three fighters, Floyd Patterson, Jose Torres, and Mike Tyson could throw combination shots faster than the eye can see. Floyd Patterson, perhaps the faster of the three, was not a big fighter, yet time and again in his career he cut down fighters taller and heavier than himself using his peek-a-boo style to wreck havoc upon his opponent. Jose became the World Light Heavyweight Champion using the D'Amato "peek-a-boo" way. Jose and Floyd were Champs in the same time period. These two would sometimes train together, sparring sessions were bad-ass and rugged. Not regular training sessions and fans would show up for these training sessions when permitted. No sad, slow sparring when these two squared off against each other. Rainy Day Boxing, you outdid yourself with this great video on the D'Amato peek-a-boo way to the championship. Oh yeah, Mike was by far the heaviest hitter of the three named Champs, but Floyd's hand speed was unmatched. Jose fell in there with his style that took advantage of his opponents mistakes. I would love to have seen Jose fight Bob Foster after getting robbed by Dick Tiger of his crown. Dick Tiger was one of the greatest evers in the Middleweight Division. Tiger was shorter in height and lighter in weight than Jose was when they fought. His style gave Torres some trouble because of this difference with Dick Tiger. Tiger was fast, wily, and had fast hand speed too. Jose was Champ though and deserved the close decision in both fights. What could I possible say about Mike Tyson except this. Mike's worst enemy was Mike himself. After he won the Heavyweight Crown he stood at the top. The crew of trainers, handlers, and manager after Cus passed, who had been with Mike since day 1, and had guided him to the Crown, were soon fired by Mike. Listening to bad advice (Don King), he ditched the crew that had journeyed with him from the beginning. These people had been his adoptive family. Their guidance had been always what's good and not good for Mike Tyson. To show what a positive influence these people had with Mike, his first fight out after letting his trainer go, he would lose his title to Buster Douglas. A 40-1 underdog fighter took it to Mike and won the title fair and square. You could see the absence of his original group along the 4th or 5th round. Mike had lost that spirit of the "tiger" a champion must have to keep disaster from befalling you. Mike fell, and fell hard. After kicking out his original team (after) winning the title, he would lose the crown to the next somebody (Douglas) he met.
Mike tyson at his peak was amazing. Just trying to imagine him with a mix-up of cross gaurd? Yet he had it all speed power, good tactics, and amazing footwork.

The spirit warrior for the fire we have inside of us, Thank Cus, Thank Mike for the lessons ...
I don’t think Cus’s boxing IQ could have even be measured… It’s a shame that he is a household name because he is an undeniable legend, not just in the realm of boxing, but in life as a whole.
Rainydayboxing, we need more training in prime videos!

A world champion, before he could buy himself a beer… legend.
ITS BACK! LESGO
Cus was a scientist, Tyson was his best pupil. He learned everything that Cus teached him. The rest is History ...
Its crazy when you realize every boxer in video game history was based on Iron Mike.
Mike tyson at his peak was amazing. Just trying to imagine him with a mix-up of cross gaurd? Yet he had it all speed power, good tactics, and amazing footwork.
