Yes. Exactly. Then in the post prison/Douglas years, he stopped doing a lot of what made him great. Shows now much the mental part of the game means. Right now at 54, he looks like he did at 22. If I were current heavyweights, I’d be afraid.
I've seen these Tyson clips a dozen times over the years. Always impressive and I can barely believe it was the heavyweight division and that he was that young.
Just look at his speed in his training videos..his head movement alone was faster and smoother than any boxer I have seen to date in 2019...the best ever and we will never see another in our lifetime
Remember ladies and gentlemen Mike Tyson wasn't just a heavyweight but a 19 year old boy who was dexterous and valorous dismantling men twice his size and age. He was out to conquer the world with pure aggression toward anyone who stepped in his path. Mike was the definition of a savage.
You can really appreciate the effectiveness of his head movement and foot placement not only to make his opponents miss, but to counter them well in the process. Chances of seeing anything close to a style like this won't really happen again. Thank you Mike for what you brought to boxing!
As a “welterweight” I’d say I’m pretty scared. But as he said “it’s not about the size, it’s about the speed and unawareness of the opponent to land the knockout ;)
That nigga Joshua would def give him a harder time than most other boxers, Joshua’s size and speed and precision can keep him safe for a while but after that and Mike is in range damnn son That negro finna get DROPPED rip Josh
Tyson in his prime had his work cut out against frank bruno and even got stunned by brunos left hook in round 2, Joshua is a bigger, taller, stronger, more athletic, more agile, more skilled, faster, more powerful version of frank bruno so i don't think it would be a walk in the park for mike. dont forget Mike at his abolute best in 1987 couldn't even knock out James Smith and James Smith is a bum compared to Joshua and even Wilder.
Tyson in his prime is, IMO, the best boxer of all time. Ungodly power and speed, and the fearlessness to use both to their full potential. None among the current heavyweights, or even the legendary boxers of earlier like Ali can match it in my eyes.
JetBlackThreat cus earned his trust when he was young, from a kid who came from the streets and didn’t trust anyone, was a big feat in itself. Then Don Kings clown ass capitalized on Mike Tyson’s newly found trust.

Tyson is easily one of the ten greatest heavyweights ever. This is a great video. While even the older Tyson had good head movement, the young Tyson's speed is just so exceptional. The 86-88 Tyson would beat any heavyweight that came after him and most heavyweights that came before him.
5:20 Tyson switches his stance in mid air, throwing a leaping left hook and then a right hook....while throwing left hook Tyson forcefully shifts his hips and widen his stance, traveling off angle far past his opponent's centerline, by the time it had connected, his lead hook usually turned into a rear hook, he was able to get the same rotation from his lead hand that he would normally get from his backhand...in his prime he was absolutely one of boxing's greatest masters
Yeah, I think Tyson is left handed and originally Cus trained him to fight southpaw and switched him to orthodox quite early on. He was very good with both hands. I love the little right hook to the body, right uppercut combo he used to do, he'd stand very square on, right foot slightly in front and the really impressive thing was fighters would have seen him KO guys with it before but it still worked afterwards as well.
A young in his prime Mike Tyson was the scariest boxer to ever step in ring IMO. Said a lot that people would pay a good amount of money to see him fight, and not get upset if the fight only went one round.
A prime Tyson could go in any era, against any fighter and beat the life out of them. ( I wasn't drunk when I wrote this). Except, maybe, the GOAT MUHAMMAD ALI.

@@gotyou8226 just saying, true defense is the ability to react quickly to an attack by slip and sliding. Don't know how is running, clinging, or jumping 30 inches back when thrown a jab called defense. Like yeah the shoulder roll works for him cause his shoulders are built wide, not everyone can do that but what Mike does is just unbelievable pure skill. I keep saying floyd is the smartest cause he don't fuck with taking risks but Tyson is the sharpest.
The way he ducks those punches...it's like he sees life in slow motion...he's always out of the way, before the punch comes out...it's like for that millisecond ...(fast for us, but slow for him) he sees the opponent's shoulder move, or foot step out, for the punch, then, steps to the side, lightning fast, gets around you, and punches your lights out. Fuckin Tyson Bro...😂👊
He mostly uses the dempsey roll which is a really effective defense technique, aside from that it's muscle memory and building his reflexes up. That's not to say this level of evasion skill is simple or easy, but it is achievable with dedication and consistent practice

Power, speed, accuracy.....Tyson was a beast.
His defense needs to be in a beauty pageant cause that was beautiful to see
I seen 3 fights live, and watching his defense was worth the 800 dollars .Don King got his 796.00 and Tyson earned his 4.but Tyson still had to pay the taxes on the 800. If there is a hell,Don King better get used to the heat.its going to be a long hot swim across that lake of fire Don. U destroyed Tysons life and took years of entertainment from all walks of life ,by knocking 8 years off his career .

Pretty dead joke.

5:40 Jesus the sound of that punch lmfao! That left hook man, so much power
You can see it, shifting his weight on every slip, prepared for that explosive hook, hovering for a second to force an attack and you see as soon as we see the opening so does Mike and just BOOM! lights out, it's just incredible, truly incredible

Yes. Exactly. Then in the post prison/Douglas years, he stopped doing a lot of what made him great. Shows now much the mental part of the game means. Right now at 54, he looks like he did at 22. If I were current heavyweights, I’d be afraid.

Tyson is easily one of the ten greatest heavyweights ever. This is a great video. While even the older Tyson had good head movement, the young Tyson's speed is just so exceptional. The 86-88 Tyson would beat any heavyweight that came after him and most heavyweights that came before him.
Who did Tyson beat in 86'-'88 that leads you to believe that?
0:58 "Remember - it's always good to throw the punch where you could hit him but he can't hit you. That's what the science of boxing is all about."
Good eye for real!!!
Stfu you're trying to hard and it's backfiring making you sound ignorant
josiff explosiff lmao you stfu why not go ahead Tyson irl?
Yeah, I think Tyson is left handed and originally Cus trained him to fight southpaw and switched him to orthodox quite early on. He was very good with both hands. I love the little right hook to the body, right uppercut combo he used to do, he'd stand very square on, right foot slightly in front and the really impressive thing was fighters would have seen him KO guys with it before but it still worked afterwards as well.
Janet ,Tyson does not throw wild
