Planning to buy a house to renovate. Quite overwhelming as it is my first time. Learning a lot by watching this. Do you mind if I ask how much budget you have set to renovate? And breakdown by area/ or by trades? - it will be super helpful for me to budget..
Good luck! We have a budget of 30k and have been sticking to it however the electrician originally quoted us 5K but now wants 7K so we’re having to adjust🙃
My brother is a plumber so I’m only paying for materials there but they’re definitely more expensive than I thought. Our builder was £300 a day and the plasterer charged us £4000. Carpets, skirting, doors, gas etc also add up and we ended up having to go for a cheaper alternative for these in the end to stay within our budget. The kitchen cost us 7k and the sofa was around 2K and we’re paying both of them on finance out of our wage rather than the budget. Also factor in skips as you’ll need a lot😅
Hope this helps? I feel like the financial element is something we struggled with as we’d never really seen anyone talk about that side of it. Saying that, our house needed a full electrical rewire and new plumbing due to its age and condition

Managing the renovation sounds like a lot of hassle even considering your bro is plumber.. I feel for you. Though good for you at least your bro is plumber and in trades. - I know none of trades with lack of diy skills.
