Fun story: the LTs are one of the first switches in my possession to ever earn a permanent place in my bag of "ew I really did NOT like anything about that" switches. Don't like how they feel, don't like how they sound, and couldn't care less about how they look if I don't like the other two. Idk if I just have a different definition of what "deep(er) sounding" means, but there was nothing about this switch that made me want to use the term "deep" while describing its sound, unless I were to say something like "hmmm, that was deeply unenjoyable" Anyway, thanks for your reviews and videos nonetheless, carry on :)
I cherish my set of 62g Pearl top u4t's. They've been through so much over 2 years and continue to perform. Now Gazzew only produces black/clear top, which means I'd have to find matching ones second hand! But it is never bad time for switch newcomers to try them out :)
I'm a huge fan of the U4Tx's sound profile, but I've started to find that I really dislike the almost scratchy sound that tactile switches make along the tactile bump. In addition, I find that that while the upstroke sound is significantly dampened compared to regular tactiles, its still pretty noticeable - I've tried reducing the spring force and hand lubing a little more, but then it feels a little mushy (user error probably). I've swapped to linears, and it feels a lot better as well - I'm now using the JWICK Semi-Silent, which is the closest to the same sound profile, but linear. I will say that the pitch of the downstroke is significantly higher pitch, but its not clacky by any means. I'm thinking about frankensteining some switches, maybe take the JWICK Semi-Silent linear stem and throw it into some WS Morandis or Gat Smoothies. Also thought about taking the stem from the TTC Silent Frozen and putting it into Morandis and seeing how it sounds...? Thoughts?
Gazzew switches still goated, but I still wish they made non-RGB versions of these switches. The top housing also used the proprietary plastic material and helped make the switches even deeper-sounding.
You still can get non-RGB versions of the U4T and U4Ts (tactile) those has full black housing, there was a non-RGB version of the Boba LT (linear) with full purple housing but as far as i know it got canceled.

For me the U4t with RGB top sounds really cheap and all but not thocky.
