This tutorial starts simply, progresses easily, and, the next thing you know, you've created something really useful. And easily repeatable! And you have learned valuable Fusion stuff❗ Thank you❗

Had no idea we could make this kind of thing in Fusion! Thank you so much for sharing 💖 There's a lot going on, but you explain it in gradual and relatable ways. Thank you for making this easily understandable (I'm a DaVinci newbie 😇🙏)

Casey, you're a star and make it look so easy. It's the fusion between you and your audience that makes the channel so great. I like the way you allow people's comments to shape the direction of future videos.
Probably because of your extensive background in Davinci Resolve.
    Alright, alright that's enough now.

Great stuff Casey - you explain all this stuff really clearly. Now to see if the branding team at my workplace will go for something interesting like this, rather than a white background... Wish me luck as I work away in the background...

I've been following you for several months now, and I'm always thankful for your easy-to-follow teaching methods and wide range of topics. Thank you!
I have a question about another topic (Particles). How do you make falling snow that accumulates on a 2D/3D object (e.g. text and ground), or rain falling on a 2D/3D object and flows down its front and sides? I think a similar effect can be done using Boris FX Particle Illusion, but can this be done using only DaVinci Resolve / Fusion? If so, then would you please show us how to do it? Thank you for considering my request!

Is there a way to offset each instance of the shape in the grid? Like, if you want each instance to rotate a little differently so they are not quite uniform in their motion?

  • @raymobula
    @raymobula ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Case, great video.
A question about the xypath modifier.
For an animation, I need to move a square along a circular path, without the square spinning around its center.
    In the pathxy modifier,
    - X sets the radius.
    - an expression in Angle (time) creates the motion around the center.
However, the square moves along an elliptical path. At 90 or 270 frames (or a multiple of it) it is offset.
Fiddling around with pixel aspect or the width/height ratio allows to correct this - but feels silly.
The square could be created using either a 100x100 pixel background, a square mask on a full size 1920x1080 background, or via a sRectangle. All three have the same issue and move in an elliptical path.
For now, I use a transform node, with this expression in Center "Point(cos(time*Speed)*Radius*1080/1920+0.5, sin(time*Speed)*Radius+0.5)". Custom Controls set the Radius and Speed. Including the "1080/1920" ratio moves the square along a circle, not an ellipse.
TL:DR: Is there a straightforward way to have an object move a circular path, where the screen ratio doesn't interfere?
