  • Here’s the full footage from my 1.5 day trip on the Producer in mid May.
The boat caught 3 Bluefins over 120lb’s and an assortment of Rockfish. It was an awesome time and I learned a ton!

Tough fishing so far. Your upcoming trip on the Odyssey should be great. One of my favorite boats. I am on it July 14.
Any idea on that Tungsten jig in terms of weight and color . I hear good things about them .

Appreciate it man! Just got back this morning from 1.5 Day on the Ocean Odyssey, so new video inbound soon! We had a good trip and smashed them the last half hour in the bottom of the ninth inning! hahah

People would, and still, laugh at SPJ gear. Now SPJ is becoming a more common approach and killing it. Stick to what works for you 🤙

Appreciate it bro! I thinking testing new gear and using what YOU like is how anyone gets better as an angler, I am definitely trying some new gear and techniques this year

Assist hook on the top of the jig would be better and put treble hook on bottom. Jig would probably look unnatural with that funky treble on top. It would work at night but unlikely during the day

For sure man, I switch up to a smaller profile jig with smaller hooks during the day, night time is when you can get away with something like that. I definitely have been thinking about running the tradition J hook stingers on top, I just hate losing fish after you I come tight on them, so that’s why I’m looking for an alternative…

    Treble hook?

Are you talking about on the vertices jig or when the guy caught a fish on the tungsten jig with a treble hook?

@@Obseadianfishing The upper assist hook on the knife jig.

@@robertslegers257 yeah man I have lost a decent amount of fish on the traditional dancing stinger hooks so I’m mixing it up this year, tons of tuna get caught on a treble hook, personally I don’t see why it wouldn’t work

It doesn’t work nearly as well a big single. Unless it’s a massive hook.
The treble will let the fish roll and pop the hook. Sure the treble will work now and then but why chance it? You’ll see. What if it’s a cow? They pull so hard that a treble will pull out unless it’s a massive treble. Producer is a great boat. Aloha captain Frank and stellar crew.

@@greggutierrez6997 I have had a lot of fish come tight and then lose them on the traditional J hook Stingers so that’s why I am looking to try out something new. I need some fish to bite though so I can test it! Haha
