"Get on the opposite side of the boat Chief " love that captain LMFAO
Listening to him explain his rig... this is a man who has his system down.
Great video! Capt. Reminds me of Paulie from Wicked Tuna
The captain is a pro. Excellent
Captains can yell, most don’t mean harm it’s just an intense situation sometimes. Dom is hilarious seems like one of the best charter captains to ever do it
Dom is the best Capt. out there.
I worked deck on sportfish boats. Fortunately I worked with a bunch of good captains. No yelling no screaming, act like you have done it before. Save the yelling for when the fish is on deck.
I’ve been giant tuna fishing for a long time and I still yell when the rod goes off . My friends understand , it’s pure adrenaline rush
Yelling is half the fun!
With the podcast and all the teaser footage this was definitely the most anticipated episode of the shows history... and it delivered. Great watch. I'm glad that you showed the full and true experience of fishing with Dom. My buddies and I still tell the stories from when we fished with him a decade ago.
Thanks for watching and commenting Bri. We appreciate it! See you out On The Water!
That was absolutely amazing!
this could be one of your best vids yet, thank you so much
Exactly. Just seeing the fish and being in such a beautiful place is reward enough. Landing the fish is just a bonus.
Dom is the definition of Massachusetts
Looks like an awesome trip out!
Those seavees are tippy! Went out with jimmy the great on his seavee, yelling about same thing, staying on opposite sides of the boat! 😂
Been waiting since the podcast for this one ☝️
Wonderful video! Very informative and beautiful photography. I miss fishing on the East Coast. I am subscribing.
Awesome, thank you!
Great fishery. Been fishing bluefin out of the OBX for quite a few years now since I bought a boat capable. We do it very similarly but there are some things I'll be trying. We tend to go no lighter than 130lb hollow. I fish narrow Daiwa Saltiga star drags when jigging. I'm a big lever drag guy but the star drag on big tuna creates a little more range of drag pressure. Rarely do we go lower than 400g and knife jigs, at least on my boat, tend to catch the most fish. One thing I've learned at the end of a fight is to use the boat to help you. Did a long range tuna trip out of San Diego and they use the motion of the boat to perfection. Cool video.
Thank you for watching! What boat did you take out of San Diego and how many days? - Jimmy
Incredible!
How quickly were you able to get the leader on that second fish ? Wondering the capabilities of the light gear. Thx!
Thank you fir this, can you discuss the reels and rods you use?
Why are you guys not using a fighting belt (or harness) ?
what did captain mean when he said you have to come across your body and not point the rod at the fish?
Keep the rod bent to keep the maximum pressure on the fish.
Now that is an exciting day on the water! Thanks
Yes it was! Thanks for watching!
Would you think the Penn 16 VSX would work on this setup instead of the Talica 16?
Honestly no, not as a jigging reel. Its better for trolling or bait fishing
Can’t wait to go out there and get yelled at when I’m trying to have a good time.
I know right lol
That looks like an amazing time
Lmao Dom reminds me of every guy i fish with
color is GREAT CHEECH!
How much drag are you fighting the fish with ?
Great Vid. At 21.35 look at the eyes on the rod. Not even near being lined up. Could have done without the gun control commercial
That captain is a jag off. None of the guys on these onthewater episodes seem like they really know what they are doing… maybe I’m just jealous
Single speed reels please
Best Capt. On the Cape
Captain sounds like a real Jo. You think his buddy wants to do anything the mess this up.
High speed single speed reel?
Anymore new episodes left this season ?
RIP to the biceps of two fellow anglers 😅 great action guys 💪🏻😎👍🏻 thats a lot bigger than those black drum in the delaware bay for certain!
This is right up my alley, except topwater
I can't believe this guy did this to you guys. You should tell him to stay behind the wheel and keep his hands away from your line.
just purchased a 14K Stella on a Ocea Flexdrive rod, Im going to tackle these bad boys soon
Cameraman do the rest 😂
i wonder why they dont use 2 speed reels for this class of fish
Your tackle is too light. Go with a heavier stuffs so you will not lose another fish.
I want to do this type of trip. But, not interested in large bluefin . Too much work. I like School Bluefin gives everybody a chance to catch one as well.
What was the set up? Rod and reel?
Capt. is Intense! 😳
When was this trip?
Though it's a single assist hook, it looks like its fairly string, Like a 4x. That will take more than a few days to rust out, and what if the fish inhaled the jig? If it's in his gills or or guts that fish may not make it. But impressive watching such big fish being taken on light tackle.
love to jump in the water when hes half way up with a speargun and stone him. Tunas so burnt out and has so much adrenaline in him he would taste like a flat tire. I'm an hour away, wish it was legal off the coast.
Honestly, jealous. Really good fights. Good footage. Bettahh accents
God Dom can pump like a man
That guy would be swimming if he yelled at me like that and I'm paying him..
He’s yelling because he’s trying to help them catch the fish, it’s intense and he needs them to react right away. If you are looking for a cap to say yes sir and no sir to paying customers I suggest you book a cruise.
This is him being polite. And trust me, You’d be in the water first with attitude on his boat.
Capts only yell after many attempts to explain
I love captains like that. adrenaline is high and mistakes will happen frequently if he doesn't bark orders. people get nervous and make mistakes he is there to make sure they don't.
You would do nothing but listen...He has lost more giant tunas than you will ever hook. Mind your helm snowflake.
Dom is a coward
Catch and release ....should be mandatory
