Great video. Best description I've seen of stability and fit between the shoes.
This is great! Would honestly love a video like this for all Brooks shoes and each brand. Would make shopping so much easier haha
PS: Just added chapters. Also check out more on the Brooks Launch GTS 10 here: th-cam.com/video/nVuq-drhazA/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the video, I had hard time choosing among sketchers go walks arch fit VS asics gel-kayano 29, 30 VS brooks adrenalin gts 23, glycerin gts. After trying them on several times at so many different stores I ended up going with Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23. I found it most stable providing good comfort as well. I find too much of cushion gives knee pain so sticked with adrenaline rather than glycerin. I find all of those shoes needed half size up tho. Thank you for your video, it helped me choose as well!
I'm happy they are making wider shoes.
Just got the Adrenaline 23s, and they pair off really well with my Glycerins. The Adrenalines give me some stability and firmness, while the Glycerin is my go to cushiony daily trainer. Fwiw, Brooks excels in customer support. They actually respond to online reviews. Very refreshing.
What is your experience with its laces? Some reviews say they are not as good as in 21s or 20s.
I need stability and really like your stability shoe comparisons. How about a look at the ASICS GT 2000 11, 4000 3 and Kayno 30 in terms of softness/firmness, medial and lateral control, etc. Also, comparing the same-in-class stability shoes from the major shoe companies would be helpful. I guess I am in the minority, but stability shoes really help, especially with my knee issues. Thanks for all the great reviews!
Did you do an updated one including the Glycerin GTS?
Love my brooks ariel. For walking.
Excellent video thank you, have had 8 pairs of adrenaline GTS and have had ankle pain, I overpronate with collapsing ankle in to the inside, heel wears significantly on the outside rear compared to rest of heel and sole, which pair would you suggest I am 6,2 and 15 stone. thanks again!
I have the Brooks Beast 20 in 11.5 2E and love them! How does the new Beast GTS 23 compare to the version I have? Is it softer cushioning and wider fit? From the pictures I have seen it appears the heel cuff looks to be lower than the 20s but maybe that's just how it looks in pictures.
Curious about about the addiction gts too!!
Hopefully one of these will work for ankle injury recovery
i had ankle fracture + torn ligaments 🤯 last year
I have adrenaline gts 21, theyre the only shoes I don't wear my orthotics with. Need another shoe, not for running but for working out. Would you recommend adrenaline or launch?
how would u compare the 860v13 to the brooks beast and adrenaline? thank you!
I am having knee pain and angle pain , i am thought of going to asics gel nimbus for running and daily wear.shall we try brooks adreline.
The juggling skills here is 100
Right? Lol
Would you say the brooks launch 9 has soft cushion? I tried the Hoka Clifton 8 and for me personally it didn’t have enough support or soft cushion on the inside so was hoping this shoe would be better
Hi, great vid and good lineup of stability shoes. Would any of these work for a supinator?
Would say the Hyperion GTS and Launch GTS would work best. Those focus on guidance both sides. Beast and Adrenaline really focus more medial.
@@DoctorsofRunning 👍
will you recommend brooks for my dad? he is 74 and needs a good walking shoes
I think the Hyperion GTS is top of the list when I replace all my current Kinvara 12's and DS Trainer 26 for No-Super-Shoe Speed Tuesdays. Unless something else comes up....
…. Like the Hyperion Tempo at half price.
I really really wish brooks had something in between the Hyperion and the glycerin Series. If the glycerin was an oz lighter, so like 8-9oz and not 9-10oz and a 6mm drop instead of 10mm drop with that nitrogen infused midsole would be money. I feel like the glycerin isn't really max cushioned shoe anymore but it to heavy to be more of a uptempo trainer. The glycerin really confuses me. I liked the Hyperion GTS and the Hyperion but would love slightly more cushioned and bounce back. The Hyperion feels like a racing flat. That isn't a bad thing but just feel like brooks has nothing in that category. The adrenaline for me is really a easy day or recovery shoe.. but brooks and uptempo trainer they don't have one.... . I'm glad the ghost max was made now they finally have a max cushion offering. The Glycerin fits much wider and has a lower arch as well. The Hyperion GTS is more in the Prism then a Liberty ISO, DS Trainer.
Is there some kind of trend to create stability shoes like Asics Hoka etc the midsoles are thicker, more lightweight and softer so maybe thats necessary I guess 🤔 I like to run barefoot shoes every now and then and thats refreshing 😊 love your videos! 👍🏻
That is definitely happening and we think it’ll be the direction for the next couple of years. Softer isn’t necessarily better for stability though, so seeing how companies work around that will be interesting.
Hyperion GTS might be fun to look at!
@@DoctorsofRunning As long as we are drifting into Asics/ Hoka, Would love to see that beastly new Gaviota 5 compared to Kayano 30, Arahi, etc. If you gotta do the fat platform, who is doing it well on the stable shoe front ? My wide, flattened feet do prefer 'wide platform' over super rigidity. Though the bulky approach will offend some.
Have worn the Beast for many years but I want to try something with lower drop. Would Hoka or Altra have something comparable to try?
It’s a bit different, but Altra Paradigm and Hoka Gaviota are comparable.
@@DoctorsofRunning Thank you.
Which one of these would you compare to the kayano28?
Brooks Adrenaline would be the most similar to the Kayano 28 of this group, but the Glycerin GTS is even more similar
Appreciate the feedback… thank you 🤙🏽
I’m running a marathon in two weeks, which stability one do you recommend between the Beast or Glycerin gts
Glycerin a bit lighter and better ride. If you’ve been training and have had good mileage in stability shoes, would say glycerin is better of the two. Using the shoe that’s been most comfortable over long runs is best though.
I’m training with Kayano 30 and Adrenaline gts 23 I found the Kayano little tight than the Adrenaline, the room is the same on both Brooks?
did you not do Training in your Marathon shoes?
When you say stiffness in the heel do you mean its harder?
Rigid is probably the better term
Do you reckon we ever will see stability supershoes?
We hope so.
What are the 'raciest' (5-10k) shoe that retain stability features (esp for us supi nators!). Hyperion looks like an option.
I disagree with what you said about adrenaline and beast having more stability than the launch . I severely overpronate and I was still overpronating in the adrenaline vs the launch . Launch corrected it fully . I can only attribute this to adrenaline having a higher stack height , making the foot more unstable . Launch is very close to the ground and relatively wide fitting which will stop the foot from rolling in . The launch are literally the only shoes on the market that correct my pronation . I’m interested in these hyperions .
@@andrewslads Did you try the Hyperion GTS? I'm currently undecided between Launch and Hyperion. I'm an over pronator looking for a mild to moderate stability shoe (preferably with a deeper heel cup to fit orthotics in)
I’ve tried the Hyperion GTS . They aren’t as stable as the launch GTS . I don’t know what it is about the launch , it could be that they are a wider fitting shoe which lends to its stability . Hyperion is abit more narrow, maybe because it’s designed as a racer trainer but that does make it more unstable . I defo pronate more in the Hyperion . Might be worth getting both . You could probably get away with the Hyperion GTS for races and use the launch as an all rounder . Launch are superb shoes , apart from
Their grips
.
Hate brooks. Had last ghost. Gave me metatarsalgia with that 12mm drop, aggravated my Achilles… and to top it off, the slippery outsole slipped in the rain and I folded/ sprained my left foot - took me out for a month. Hope the company goes bankrupt.
