On Asylum I agree but the City? City has the most nonsensical story of the three if you try to analyze it without getting distracted on the awesome gameplay. I'm not sure how much Dini did the city but the quality drop in comparison with the Asylum is obvious.

Asylum will always be the best one out of the series. Even if the ending Joker battle was disappointing. City was the peak, and Knight would of been an otherwise solid ending if they toned down the Batmobile battles.

Me neither. I was 10 when Arkham Asylum came out, it honestly kinda scared me as a child, especially when those lunatics in the Penitentiary came into play. But I fell in love with the series from that point on and stuck with it all the way to the end at 16 when Arkham Knight came out.
Ever since I started playing the arkham games it was an absolute amazing gaming experience as a batman fan and out of all of them I love the very first game, happy anniversary arkham asylum.
It's the 8th anniversary... He just has nothing to do so he has to upload SOMETHING to keep his channel from dying... Otherwise, I don't think WE CELEBERATE 8TH ANNIVERSARIES.
I know people prefer Arkham City but Arkham Asylum will alway be my favourite... It's the darkest game & has the best character design & story, I love it! \m/
It's my favorite too and I love it because it was so gritty and the asylum felt alive and eery with the dark architecture from the semi-clean Medical Ward to the high security Penitentiary. It just feels so real, I don't know how to put my finger on it but I just love it
Asylum captured a feeling that the sequels never could. The sequels felt like they were trying too hard to be the best but it doesn't work. Asylum is still the best IMO.
The only part of Asylum that hurt it for me was that slog through Croc's lair. It was conspicuously not fun compared to everything else in the game. I don't think City ever had a section as tedious, so that, along with the improved scope, mechanics, and the bravery to write that shocking ending, make me prefer City.
What made Arkham Asylum very very scary and creepy is the Radio Jingle. Everytime that damn jingle comes you expect bloody words coming from both Joker and Harley, threats, and other horrifying things. But the most eerie and terrifying of them all is the random silence. One time, I was walking around Arkham East when the jingle came and I was expecting either Joker taunting Batman, Joker gathering goons, Harley screaming how much she love Joker, or just the old-fashioned Joker laugh, what came however, is an unexpected silence and it terrified me, thinking maybe somebody is lurking behind Batman or somewhere in the area, so I grappled in a higher position and waited 30 mins just to see nothing happen.
These guys were excited about making a great game for the fans AND the critics. Whether or not you are a comic book fan, they made this game for all of us❤
My favorite thing about watching this in hindsight is you can tell Rocksteady had literally no idea how well the game was going to be received at the time. Sure, they must've been just coming off a massive crunch at the time these interviews were recorded, but even then... how would they have known? Good lord, I think Sefton Hill must've had some kind of heart attack when he heard about the Guinness Record thing. XD
This game is one of the greatest experiences I've ever had playing video games. I got this game at midnight when it came out my mind was blown the first time I played through this game. I always tell my friends to play this game first out of all the other arkham games
Finished playing this recently a few months ago for the first time. This game is a masterpiece, the dark, Gothic mood of the whole atmosphere is amazing. Great atmosphere. Very much a great cinematic experience also. And to top it off, loved it at the end. Batman making his way over to the fireworks and meeting two formed lines of Joker henchman applauding him, welcoming him into the theatre for the final battle. Then I just decide to take them all on in a fight. So badass. Walking slowly to join the Joker's party at the end, covered in battle wounds and a damaged suit. Just gives me vibes of the cathedral climb at the end of Batman 1989 where he's injured, but still going after the Joker!
They knew. That's why many of them quit after Arkham Knight. They wanted to make a Superman game, but suits and experts wanted to make a GAAS looter shooter with Suicide Squad.
This was such an amazing game. I don't think it was the best game in the series whatsoever, but it was something never thought of at the time of release. It was pure genius, and it still holds up today as one of the best Batman games of all time.

Since then, Sefton Hill has confirmed they have started something new. As for the rumors of WB Montreal's game, I'm calling fake news. This is the Internet where any story can be fabricated. As far as I'm concerned, unless there is a poster or trailer, the game doesn't exist. Take Insomniac's Spider-man for example. Reports were coming out that Sucker Punch was making a Spider-man game. However, these reports were false as Insomniac announced the game at E3. While it seems ridiculous to scrutinize based on developer alone, the game really didn't exist until it was announced. Though there are things to say about why I think they announced it way too early.

For as hard as the Arkham games have tried to be grand and epic in scope, nothing for me has ever matched the nightmarish, surreal atmosphere of the original. It was something special.
The later games (including City) just tried to be the best. They acted like "THIS IS THE TRUE BATMAN EXPERIENCE" and lost the feeling that the original (Asylum) had.

For everyone asking for a new Arkham game. Don't worry guys, WB isn't going to put an end to the Arkham games considering the success they have had. I hear WB Montreal (the same guys that made Arkham Origins) is currently developing a sequel to Arkham Origins called Batman: Arkham Insurgency. We'll hear about it soon I hope.
Batman story might have ended but "Arkhamverse" need to keep existing, I would love to see a game that focus on Deathstroke or Arrow or Flash or Superman or Wonder Woman or any super hero with their own twist and mature themes for this universe.

So happy for Sefton Hill, he’s been there since the beginning and now the Arkham games are so huge. Now, it is its own iteration of Batman and the DC universe with the upcoming Suicide Squad Game I can’t wait to see what they do and so grateful to have been there since the beginning with Asylum on release
Arkham series is one of the greatest game trilogy’s ever created. Asylum, was the grand opener, beautifully dark, great story.. Arkham Knight, beautifully updated graphics, looks absolutely stunning. Plus along with being able to drive the Batmobile is a A+ add on (along with being able to be Red Hood and Batgirl in the DLC’s). But in my opinion.. Arkham City, always has and always will be my all time favorite out of all 3. The story is # 1. Best story of all 3, the way it allows you to glide from building to building, with the freedom we’ve all wanted in Asylum, we got here. The villains, the side quests (Joker, Mad Hatter & Catwoman are my favorite villains in this game) the love story between Talia & Bruce, a was great extra touch to the story.. Along with losing her also was another great decision. To put Bruce thru more pain, to lose the only woman he’s ever loved along side him going head to head with his greatest archenemy (Joker) and fighting to stay alive… I’m sorry for the long stupid long comment. But I can go on and on about City. Asylum: 9.5/10… Knight: 9/10… City: 10/10.
I think Arkham Series is done. But maybe Rocksteady could make a new Batman series that is totally new and thats a totally standalone from Arkham Series.

Elijah Johnson not from Rocksteady. They said Knight was (for better or worse) their Arkham swan song, and once it was completed they would move on to other projects. Since then, Sefton Hill has confirmed they have started something new. As for the rumors of WB Montreal's game, I'm calling fake news. This is the Internet where any story can be fabricated. As far as I'm concerned, unless there is a poster or trailer, the game doesn't exist. Take Insomniac's Spider-man for example. Reports were coming out that Sucker Punch was making a Spider-man game. However, these reports were false as Insomniac announced the game at E3. While it seems ridiculous to scrutinize based on developer alone, the game really didn't exist until it was announced. Though there are things to say about why I think they announced it way too early.

By the way, Kevin Conroy don't even need to change his voice to sound like Batman, because when he talking then you hear the voice of actual Batman. I mean that he is sound like Batman even without changing his voice to sound like Batman.

For as hard as the Arkham games have tried to be grand and epic in scope, nothing for me has ever matched the nightmarish, surreal atmosphere of the original. It was something special.
The later games (including City) just tried to be the best. They acted like "THIS IS THE TRUE BATMAN EXPERIENCE" and lost the feeling that the original (Asylum) had.
We are never going to get a new arkham game,are we?

Asylum was the best. It gives a clean start with almost every classic villain.
They should make an Arkham game where you play as a villain. It would be a great twist on an already established game series and could make an interesting plot. Maybe, you play as Joker/Another villain and your goal is to stop Batman. Perhaps it could act in an alternate timeline, in which you can kill Batman in this game but it wouldn't affect the other games. Your opinions?
I was thinking the exact same thing as you. Rocksteady should make a game about deathstroke. Beginning to end just like the arkham series.

Arkham asylum was almost like a terror game,the jumpscares,the demented inmates running for you,the titans,killer croc boss fight,scarecrow missions etc.theres places where the game is rated 18+

When you open the game and after the logos, that "BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM" logo shows up and the main theme starts... Gets me all nostalgic...
Asylum is outstanding because it came at a time where no one would've ever think a super hero game would do so well and would also enter to the legend of gaming history

For everyone asking for a new Arkham game. Don't worry guys, WB isn't going to put an end to the Arkham games considering the success they have had. I hear WB Montreal (the same guys that made Arkham Origins) is currently developing a sequel to Arkham Origins called Batman: Arkham Insurgency. We'll hear about it soon I hope.

Batman story might have ended but "Arkhamverse" need to keep existing, I would love to see a game that focus on Deathstroke or Arrow or Flash or Superman or Wonder Woman or any super hero with their own twist and mature themes for this universe.
The Arkhamverse is the perfect adaptation of the Batman
the Warden's plan on Arkham city (spoiler) is the only thing that excited me, Rocksteady hid it so well, Bravo
Batman Arkham games in my opinion :
1. Asylum (my favourite game ever)
2. City
3. Knight (kinda disappointing but still fun)
4. Origins (I don't get why people hate this game so much. Ok it's not as cool as City and Asylum but I think it's a very good game none the less)
5. VR
6. Origins : Blackgate (the only bad game of the series to me)

So happy for Sefton Hill, he’s been there since the beginning and now the Arkham games are so huge. Now, it is its own iteration of Batman and the DC universe with the upcoming Suicide Squad Game

Arkham series is one of the greatest game trilogy’s ever created. Asylum, was the grand opener, beautifully dark, great story.. Arkham Knight, beautifully updated graphics, looks absolutely stunning. Plus along with being able to drive the Batmobile is a A+ add on (along with being able to be Red Hood and Batgirl in the DLC’s). But in my opinion.. Arkham City, always has and always will be my all time favorite out of all 3. The story is # 1. Best story of all 3, the way it allows you to glide from building to building, with the freedom we’ve all wanted in Asylum, we got here. The villains, the side quests (Joker, Mad Hatter & Catwoman are my favorite villains in this game) the love story between Talia & Bruce, a was great extra touch to the story.. Along with losing her also was another great decision. To put Bruce thru more pain, to lose the only woman he’s ever loved along side him going head to head with his greatest archenemy (Joker) and fighting to stay alive… I’m sorry for the long stupid long comment. But I can go on and on about City. Asylum: 9.5/10… Knight: 9/10… City: 10/10.
